I enjoyed the story itself. It was light and lovely. The writing felt like it was smashing me over the head with a set of skis, narrating and narrating and narrating some more with all the things I had just read.

What a great romcom! The cover was so cute. I didn't realize this book was part of a 'series' but definitely can read as standalone. Kendall is saved by her brother's BFF Brody when a wedding cake is attacked by a retriever puppy. The chemistry between Kendall and Brody was off the charts. The puppy was a great addition - and so cute too! I also loved the picturesque Vermont setting. It was a fun and entertaining romance - which I look forward to reading more from this author.

I was expecting cute and fun from this book, and instead got something so much more heartwarming than I could have imagined.

Kendall is working at her family’s ski resort years after her own dreams of being an Olympic skier were ended by a crash at trials. Brody is her childhood friend/brother’s best friend who did go on to become an Olympian but is now back home for some time away from the sport. The two find themselves working together to renovate a property on the resort for his sister’s wedding and revealing pieces of each other they usually keep guarded.

I really liked Kendall and felt for her as she worked to find her way out of the stagnant place she’d allowed herself to settle into after her accident. The various moments when her accident and its emotional fallout were remembered, discussed, and examined were heartbreaking. I felt those emotions deeply while reading.

I also liked Brody and the banter and camaraderie between him and Kendall. Their conversations were deep and meaningful. Each one was a window into how much they trusted each other and felt safe to voice so many of the struggles they usually kept to themselves. I think they complemented each other well and created a genuine partnership.

The only thing I didn’t like was the storyline with Kendall’s dad. I thought he was horrible to her and everyone excused it and/or let it happen. I didn’t really buy into his explanations when it came time to give them, and I also didn’t really excuse Kendall’s stepmother’s reasons for her inactions either.

To end with the ‘puppy’ part, bonus points to Banner the foster pup for being an adorable chaos creator. A troublemaker, but still a very good boy.

loved this sweet book! Childhood friends reconnect later in life and through a series of weddings and a chaotic puppy, fall in love. TW: does mention suicide and mental health issues. Doesn’t include much spice, but leaves you feeling giddy and in love. I love the setting at a ski lodge in Vermont with hints of Olympic dreams and realities of the sport. Also features some family dynamic issues, but I promise everything works out!

Kendall is saved by her brother's bestie, Olympick hero, Brody when a wedding cake is almost attacked by a retriver. They both have issues with their careers and uncertain about their futures.

Love Kendall and Brody together! Their chemistry is terrific and it's easy to understand why they fall for each other. The puppy is adorable too. Great romance.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

What a great book! Childhood friends reconnect after years apart. Kendall is a retired skier, now working at her family’s resort, and Brody is back home taking some time away from skiing professionally to heal (physically and emotionally).

Loved the Vermont setting with skiing being a big focus, even though I’m not a skier myself. It’s so funny because I was several chapters into the book before I realized I had read the previous book in the series. Loved this one even more than the first, but each can be read as a stand alone.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Watch for Four Weddings and a Puppy to come out November 21, 2023.

This was so cute! I have to admit that I picked this book up almost entirely because of the adorable cover. I was pulled into this book from the first page and found it to be an incredibly entertaining romance. I had such a good time with this one that I am now eager to read other books byLizzie Shane soon as possible.
