Thank you to Netgally, the publishers, and Lizzie Shane

When I requested this book I was unaware that it was apart of a series, one that requires you to read the previous books for this one to make sense. I am unable to read all the previous books along with this one before the publish date. Therefore, I will rate this a fair 3/5 stars and will adjust the rating and review when I am able to read all the books in the series along with this one.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Kendall and Brody. Kendall and Brody have known each other for all their lives. Kendall is a retired skier due to an injury and is now the wedding planner at her family’s resort. Brody is an Olympian skier, who doesn’t known if he wants to continue skiing. There is an instant attraction. Kendall wants to redo a lodge for smaller weddings, Brody offers to help her. They start dating. They fall in love and figure out what they want in life.

Four Weddings and a Puppy by Lizzie Shane
ARC - Release Date 11-21-2023

Six years ago, Kendall Walsh was an Olympic hopeful in downhill skiing, until she wasn’t. One second she was moments from the finish line and the next she was being life flighted. Now, she was managing her family’s ski resort wondering what happened to her life. Brody James, multi time Olympic athlete, needed a break. He came home under the guise of a knee injury and found himself working alongside Kendall. He wasn’t sure what he wanted next, but spending time with Kendall seems to be all he can think about.

Four Weddings and a Puppy was so sweet and a great read. It was fast paced and captivating - I couldn’t put it down. It’s a standalone as part of a series, which I didn’t realize until part way through (now I need to go read the rest). Both main characters are relatable and independent. The banter was great and the MMC was so sweet and knew what he wanted. The family conflict was well written and I enjoyed the history. I think the father/daughter conflict could have been a bit more explored towards the end (seemed to resolve rather quickly) but I liked getting the resolution. Of course, I appreciated the epilogue and it was so sweet! Overall, a quick, sweet read that a lot of readers will love.

The chemistry and banter between Kendall and Brody were SWOONWORTHY. If you like steam, then this is not for you. I enjoyed the closed door scenes and just love the two of them together. I enjoyed the Hallmark storyline and enjoyed the star of the show (the dog). This can definitely be read as a standalone.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC.

I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I'm a sucker for books with dogs on the cover, so much so all my current library books have books on the covers.

Sadly the cover did not save this book for me. I lost interest by the time an unleashed dog was set loose in a wedding. Why would an 11 month old not be in a kennel or at doggy daycare while the owner was distracted? It's likely the fact I just lost my dog and felt it today, but I just became bitter about this. There was cute romance, but it was a little too cookie-cutter romance for me.

This is the fifth book of the Pine Hollow series. Although part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone.
It was a lovely, lighthearted romantic comedy with a second chance trope. Kendall is an ex-skier whose career ended after an injury and now she's working at her father's ski resort. Her brother's best friend and first crush, Brody comes back home. He is a famous and successful Olympic skier and why he would leave all that and come back home is anybody's guess. He offers to stay and help Kendall get the resort back on track, and while she doesn't know what's going on with him, she's glad to have her friend's help. Having Brody's support means a lot to Kendall and really gives them a chance to reconnect again as friends. They begin to open up to each other, and as the trust builds, so does their budding relationship. The closeness and extra time they are now spending together leads them to reevaluate their relationship and their feelings for each other.
This was a cute and fun romance that is sure to give you all the feels. The characters were well-developed and relatable, and I couldn't help but fall in love with them. It was a very well-written and entertaining story, and I am glad to have had the opportunity to read it.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Broken dreams, starting over, and childhood friends become more oh, and there is a puppy involved. So there's the book.

This was a cute book about a girl named Kendall who runs her family's ski resort. She is anti-love and ironically is now a wedding coordinator, using the ski resort as a backdrop. Her dad never listens to her and prefers her brother, Kevin. She's not happy in life but she feels stuck. Brody is the main male character. He is a professional skier and is Kevin's best friend. He comes back and says hes injured, even though we know he's just burnt out. He starts working with Kendall to renovate some space in the resort and of course they fall in love. She's fostering an ornery dog that causes some hijinks. Overall, not much happened in this book and the romance was sweet, but nothing I'm going to remember for very long.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this new novel.

This was a cute story but after a while I started to skim, mainly because it became to repetitive with Kendall's inner monologue about how she never got to the Olympics, owed her father so much and she HAD to stay at the resort. Why not have an honest conversation with anybody??

There were too many holes in the plot for me to fully enjoy this and also, I didn't really feel the chemistry between Kendall and Brody.

Four Weddings and a Puppy is an adorable closed door rom com featuring olympians, a ski resort, weddings and a cute puppy. This definitely felt like it was part of a series and I missed something but also it was ok because I just really loved everyone. There are some undertones of more dark topics such as off book suicide, mental health, accidents and parental neglect so be aware going in but the author handles it all so well. I would definitely read more and plan to check out the others in the series.

I absolutely loved this book! It reminded me of a hallmark movie (in the best way). I loved that there wasn’t any tension or ill feelings from Kendall’s side, with Brody getting to live out her dreams, and I love how naturally their relationship progressed - it wasn’t cheesy.

Kendall was on track to become one of the best skiiers in the world, but it all changed when she was involved in an accident. She hasn’t found something else she loves, and she feels like she’s not doing anything, having been working at her family’s ski resort for the past couple of years. Brody, her childhood crush and brothers best friend - also an olympic skiier, shows up at the resort with no logical reason why he isn’t skiing, and agrees to help Kendall’s family fix up some things. Close proximity and a shared history… where will it go?

Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book!

Four Weddings and a Puppy is a super cute, fun, quick read. Lizzie Shane has written a beautiful novel about two people who are struggling and their path to self discovery. While they are each trying to find themselves they end up spending a fair amount of time together, say four Weddings worth.

This is a fun read that I recommend wholeheartedly.

Honestly, going into this one I expected it to be a cute, sweet romance but damn, this one surpassed my expectations. Kendall’s accident and her emotions about how it impacted her life resonated so well, and I felt her pain.

I loved the banter between Brody and Kendall, but more importantly I loved the deep emotions that both characters battled through.

SUPER CUTE!

This was such a fun read. What's not to love about love, weddings, and a very naughty puppy. Plot and pacing were great. Just the right amount of angst. Hightly recommend!

A heartwarming small town romance with relatable characters. Hallmark movie fans would especially enjoy this lovely book!

Kendall is surprised that her teenage crush has come home escaping from his professional skiing career for a break in his hometown. He instantly becomes a fixture in her life when he rescues her high energy dog, Banner, from making a disaster of a wedding that she has organized at her dad's ski resort and he ends up staying to help Kendall renovate the old resort into a full time wedding venue. As they get reacquainted through being in close contact with the renovation Kendall realizes she still has feelings for Brody. But will Brody leave her behind to go back to his Olympic training and, if he does, could she leave the resort to follow him?

This is the fifth installment in Lizzie Shane's Pine Hollow series, but can easily be read as a stand alone book. The characters are a pleasure to get to know, I enjoyed how their background was revealed slowly so you could really soak in why these characters are feeling the way they are about their lives. The growth of Kendall and Brody's relationship felt realistic and well developed.

I hope you enjoy the visit to the Pine Hollow ski resort as much as I did!

I am grateful to Forever Publishing and Netgalley for granting me access to a digital copy of this feel-good romantic book that I throughly enjoyed.

A cute book that could've been four stars for me, but as the owner (I consider myself a mother, but whatever) of an eleven-month-old puppy the dog content was...questionable for me.

I know it shouldn't matter so much, but I felt so strongly about the way Kendall, the main character, did not invest any amount of training into this rambunctious puppy she was fostering and then was upset when it went crazy. Like, she didn't crate-train him because she was just fostering him. Ma'am, he's not going to get adopted if you don't crate-train him. People want well-behaved dogs, especially when they're already maturing and the puppy angle doesn't work anymore.

Aside from that angle (sorry for the little rant), the book was good. The romance was a bit lackluster, with them not even kissing until 60% into it which leaves you no room to explore it as in-depth as you, in my opinion, should. They kind of just got together and everything was great. Good for them, though. It was just a super easy read and nothing groundbreaking, but sometimes a good cozy read is all you need.

This was a cute book but I also kept losing my attention span during it. I loved the dog aspect, and most of it. But for some reason I just didn’t love it. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, it’s definitely a cute romance.

First thought: You will instantly fall in love with the characters of this book, Kendall and Brody. The mountain town of Pine Hollow, Vermont has my heart now and I want to be besties with this crew. Between the banter, supportive girl squad, truth and dare, hot tub antics and the adorable golden Banner I couldn’t put this down.

Kendall dreamed of the Olympics she was at the top of her game the best of the best about to win when it all went horribly wrong. Her accident 6 years ago ended her career in skiing and made her give up on the person she wanted to be. She has settled for working at the family ski resort planning weddings and trying to keep the business from going under. She has lost her spark and what brings her happiness.

Brody is an Olympic medal skier, he’s dedicated his life to chasing the gold but he just walked away from it all. He now finds himself back home in Pine Hollow trying to figure out what’s next for him, and if there is more to him than just being an athlete. Now that he’s back he wants to be more active in his family, his sister is getting married and her venue just cancelled.

That’s how Brody ends up at Kendall’s lodge asking if they have a wedding venue for sister’s wedding.

Kendall and Brody paths were bound to cross. He’s best friends with her brother and she’s always had a secret crush on him. Brody has always been apart of her life, but he got to live the dream she always wanted, one they thought they would share as kids.

Can they learn to work together to pull off the wedding for his sister or will this be a high stakes game of truth or dare neither of them will walk away from.
