This was a romance, but the main focus was really on the main characters figuring out what makes them happy. Their journey of self-discovery was a joy to read. Their ongoing game of Truth or Dare was sweet, silly, and meaningful. I’m not a fade-to-black fan, but that’s a personal preference. Loved the book overall!
I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
When I first got this book I had no idea that it was part of a series of books. You definitely didn't need to read the other books to read this one. But while I was reading this I was curious to see if I could figure out who was from the previous books.
This was a very cute book and very easy read. While seeing Brody and Kendall's relationship grow was fun it was also nice to see their journey towards working on themselves. I was also happy to see actual progress with the issues regarding Kendall and her father. I have read some other books where the main character has family issues and feel like they never get full resolved like they do in this book.
Another charming romance by Lizzy Shane that includes doggie sweetness along with a great chemistry between skiers Kendall and Brody. It was a sweet romance overall and I appreciated the mental health struggles illustrated in the novel, but I personally found it a bit too much of a focus. I wanted more dialogue between them about other aspects of their lives other than their struggles with getting back to skiing. To the point that I almost DNF it. But when the romance was on, it was sweet and steamy. And of course, Kendall’s foster dog was super adorable.
The star of the book was the very naughty doggie Banner who had a propensity for eating electronics.
I found myself skipping ahead in the dialogue just to see what he was up to.
One of the best scenes is Charlotte after her bachelorette party.
Kendall and Brody both had a lot of issues to work through but it was never about how they felt for each other.
I thought Kendall’s dad was still a jerk at the end of the book.
I think Pine Hollow needs a book just about the animals.

I enjoyed this one a lot, just not as much as others in the series.
I *really* wanted more Banner antics! We didn't get nearly enough of him.
I can't wait to see what's next for this group and from Lizzie Shane!
Four Weddings and a Puppy was such a fun surprise! The characters were relatable and charming, the family dynamics were intriguing, and the plot was a joy. With the small town ski resort setting, this was the perfect book to cuddle up with in the winter with a cup of cocoa and a fluffy blanket. I was so charmed by the various characters, I am now looking forward to checking out the previous books in the series to catch up on their stories.
This is a great book for you if you like: friends to lovers, small town, brother's best friend, weddings, dogs, sports romance (skiing), cozy winter vibes.
Thank you to Forever for gifting me with an ARC to review. All opinions are my own. I adored it!
I'll never hesitate to pick up a new Lizzie Shane book- especially not one set in Pine Hollow. I loved returning to this small town in Vermont, especially because this was Kendall's story, my favorite of the friend group. While Pride and Puppies, the last in the series, was cheerful, gentle, and cozy, FWP was emotional, a little angsty, and very touching.
Kendall and Brody are great main characters. They have similarities that make them perfect to help each other, but the way they push each other to be more daring and reach outside their comfort zones had me rooting for them from page one. Seeing their character growth (and the relationship growth) and how they become vulnerable and honest with themselves and one another is a real treat.
The family dynamic, too, added a deep layer of emotion. Kendall's relationship with her dad and the pressure put on both Kendall and Brody by their families made for an extra component that rounded out their motivations and fears. I loved the resolution to these events- incredibly satisfying.
Though there were deeper emotions touched by this novel, at its heart Four Weddings and a Puppy is still a cheerful, romantic read. Brody and Kendall are great stars, and their romance shines in its quiet, inevitable way, without being too wordy or introspective. The epilogue made my heart sing, and I can't wait for Mac and Magda to do it again.
Four Wedding and a Puppy is such a a sweet book. Although it’s the fifth book in the series you can still read it and enjoy it without reading the others. I throughly enjoyed how cute it was.
The book Four Weddings and a Puppy was an enjoyable read. I would recommend any book written by Lizzie Shane. Happy Reading!

I really enjoyed this one! I didn't know it was the fifth book in a series and now I want to go back and read more of the books! I loved the setting of Vermont and the relationships between Kendall and her friends. I loved the way Charlotte, Magda and Kendall balanced each other out. I loved Brody and Kendall.
This is a best friend, forced proximity, slow burn, sports romance. Kendall and Brody find each other after years apart. They help one another rekindle their love of skiing. Cute small town romance.
Thank you for the arc in exchange for my honest review
This was a cute, quick read. It had some really fun moments and I liked the childhood friends to lovers arc. The wedding setting provided a sweet backdrop and the spice level was low/closed door. Apparently this is part of a series but can be read on its own, as I did. I thought the dog antics were a bit much and the behavior was destructive rather than cute. But overall a cute, feel good rom com.

Olympic skier Brody James and wedding planner Kendall Walsh are the main characters of Lizzie Shane's brother’s best friend romance Four Weddings and a Puppy.
Banner, the golden retriever, carried the whole book. He was the sweetest thing ever, and he would do the most ridiculous things.
The things, though, that bothered me were the way Brody constantly referred to Kendall as his family and the way he would say, "It's my honorably, brotherly instincts," whenever he felt jealous of Kendall going out.
I kept looking for the chemistry and the romance, but I never felt it. I knew the main characters were getting serious and involved in what they called "romance," but I didn't feel any passion in them.
It should be concerning that, upon finishing the novel, I was still unclear about whether Brody and Kendall were friends with benefits or had been dating the entire time. This confusion was made worse by the author's lack to provide clarity on a number of other issues.
*Thank you to NetGalley, Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and to the author, Lizzie Shane, for providing me with this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.*
This is a well written friends to lovers, second chance romance.
Kendall is a former champion ski racer whose only goal was to get to the Olympics, but she crashed at the trials and had to retire. She now runs her parent’s Vermont ski resort out of obligation because her dad spent so much on her recovery.
Brody is a model handsome ski racer, he and Kendall have been friends and competitors since they were kids. He’s an Olympic medalist at the top of his game, but a fellow racer recently died and it affected Brody. He leaves a World Cup race and impulsively retires. Back in Vermont, he gets a job at the resort and looks forward to seeing his first love, Kendall.
Kendall is sure that weddings will bring in more money, even as her dog almost destroys a wedding, but her dad isn’t convinced until Brody agrees. While remodeling the old ski lodge, they get closer and closer and the unresolved feelings they had as teenagers come back.
I liked the honest discussions of the pressure to succeed and meet parental and other expectations, while competing in a sport where injuries are likely.
I didn’t realize that this book was part of a series (Pine Hollow) so I’ll be reading the other books now! 4.5 stars.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed as in this review are completely my own.
First off, I’ll start with the positives. Pupper Banner is hilarious, what a character! I always love a good friends to lovers and this couple is no exception. I enjoyed their well-paced development after being estranged for some time. I will say it was a little unbelievable to me that there were two different people in the same close group that happened to be Olympics-worthy skiers. That being said, I appreciate that it wasn’t all sunshine and lollipops, with her family situation and him dealing with his own hang ups while on a medical break. While this is supposed to be just fine to read as a standalone, it makes a whole heck of a lot more sense if you read the other series portions first. Overall, it’s a cute read for a gloomy day!
The story of Brody and Kendall. He is her brother's best friend is following his olympic dream while hers fell apart. Now he is back will they have a chance together?
This series continue to get better and better. I do feel that you need to read them in order to feel the full charm, plus it's just fun getting glimpses of past characters in the new books.
I loved the ski resort setting and Banner added so much comical relief that I couldn't help but chuckle.
So, so excited for Mac and Magda next!!!
A golden. Childhood friends/childhood crush, brothers best friend. An Olympian. A magical wintery Vermont setting. Alll the yes. All of it. 🥰😍🥰
This was such a good follow up to Pride and puppies!! I loved Kendall, and Brody was a heck of a cinnamon roll. Their friendship picked up right where it left off when he unexpectedly shows up at his cousin's wedding that she had planned and starts working at her family's resort. The close proximity of will they won't they, feelings they both kept buried for far too long, and the friendship that you just knew was a precursor to forever.
Here's to hoping the next book is on Magda and Mac!!

4 stars!
"Four Weddings and a Puppy" by Lizzie Shane is a great book that I very much enjoyed reading! I liked this book better than the other two Lizzie Shane novels I've read, mainly because this one's so much deeper than the others. What this book lacks in fluff it makes up for in a heavy but necessary story about mental health, growth, healing, and finding your true purpose. I really liked the main characters, Brody and Kendall. He is her brother's best friend, and she has been in love with him since they were kids. Kendall missed out on her dreams of being and Olympic skier after an accident, and Brody continued on with his dream to become the number two best skier in the world... but at what cost? Both of them have issues they need to work out and work on. Luckily, they find solace in each other, push each other to improve, and support each other through difficult setbacks, mental health struggles, and fraught family ties. I loved the push and pull of their ever-evolving relationship from friends to lovers. There's no spice in this book, but it makes up for it in its genuine, slow-burning, maturing human connection between Kendall and Brody. Shane does a spectacular job setting up this world and these characters. It's one of those books you can see in your mind because the backdrop is so terrifically described! Also, there's a very adorable foster dog named Banner that will warm your frozen heart. I really, really appreciated this book and can't wait to see what Lizzie Shane writes next!
