Four Weddings and a Puppy was a really cute book and fun to read - I definitely smiled a lot. I didn't know this is part of a series so I am confused about some characters but I really liked Kendall and Brody, and of course Banner, the puppy!
The book was super repetitive though. All of the characters had the same conversations over and over with slight variations and I felt like the author was doing that just to keep the book going instead of trying to come up with some resolutions sooner. I also felt it took FOREVER for me to even feel Kendall and Brody's romantic connection because he never liked her when they were younger but she's liked him for years.
I don't plan on reading the other books in the series but again, this was a cute read and I do recommend it! Other things I liked were the wedding planning, the ski resort vibes (I live in a ski town), and that Brody is an Olympian.
Thank you Netgalley and Forever for the arc in exchange for an honest review!
Four Weddings and a Puppy was such a fun read and I couldn't get enough of it. This is the latest book in the Pine Hollow series, although they can easily be read out of order. It's the story of the daughter of a local hotel owner and a local Olympian who returns home. They were best friends when they were younger, but haven't talked in years. I loved the setting of the resort in Pine Hollow, which is the main setting for this novel. I also really enjoyed the friendship between Kendall and Brody that later turns into a romance, hello it's a romance. Like the other books in the Pine Hollow series this book is a closed door romance. As present in the other novels, there is a furry friend which is equally as loveable as the romantic couple.
Thank you to Forever and Netgalley for a copy in exchange for review consideration.
I am such a sucker for these types of books - Hallmark love stories! This is my 1st book by Lizzie and won't be my last as I can't wait for the next one to come out! And I need to go back and read book 1-4 in this series now too. But you can totally read this book as a standalone as well.
As soon as I started this book I didn't want to put it down. Kendall is working for her family and is trying to get their ski lodge to expand their horizons since she was hurt and can no longer follow her own skiing dreams. She is trying to get weddings booked there to boost their business. Her father doesn't really want to listen to her until her childhood friend Brody, who is a famous skier, comes to see if they can get his sister's wedding booked there.
He offers to help get the building up to what Kendall had been hoping to turn it into. So they are reunited again and work side by side. The banter between them and even the dog, Banner, that Kendall is fostering is good.
I love to watch them fall in love and how they overcome some things that include realizing their own emotions towards each other.

This is the third book I’ve read by Lizzie Shane! I can definitely say I’m a big fan! I love the Pine Hollow series. Books involving dogs have quickly become some of my favorites. Though this book is part of a series, it can be definitely be read as a stand alone. This book was swoon worthy. I found myself completely invested in Kendall and Brody’s relationship. I loved their banter and sexual tension.
Brody and Kendall were two people I could really root for. They were both such kind people on a journey find what made them happy. I feel like the fits they found themselves in could be very relatable for a lot of people.
Banner, the crazy cell phone eating puppy added a fun aspect to the story. He added some lighthearted antics during more “serious” parts of the story. The cover represents him well.

I loved this one! I am always a sucker for sports romance, but this one went a step further and brought me an Olympian.
Beyond that I loved the setting, the great skiing town and the people who lived and worked there.
The relationships between our hero and heroine and their friends and family were also a great addition.
And the chemistry between Kendall and Brody, while slow to grow, was great! I love friends into lovers type stories and this one didn't disappoint. All very well done!
Thank you for this great story!
I really don't know what I was expecting with this book. I was expecting a cute book about weddings and a puppy, but it had a couple of deep subjects and I feel it just glossed over them.
Brody comes back home from his Olympic life because he doesn't know what to do next. His biggest competitor has passed away and he's coming to terms with his feelings and his value in life. Seeing Kendall after a few years, he starts remembering their friendship and her passion for their mutual sport.
Kendall came back to Pine Hollow after a career ending accident. She's started to stopped dreaming about the future and just accepts her life how it is. When Brody comes back, being close to him forces her to see how she's pushes everyone away and even skiing. Spending time together just helps them both see their value.
I thought the storytelling was good, I just thought it was predictable. I liked it but didn't like it. I did not like the way the brother best friend trope was used. I do think if this book was set in high school it would've been exactly the same.
Thank you NetGalley for the e-arc version of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I received this ARC free from the publisher via NetGalley.
4.5 stars. This sports romance between childhood friends is a cute quick read full of some great tropes. Though it's called Four Weddings and a Puppy, the weddings don't factor in too much to where it is more about the weddings than the romance. It struck a good balance! It is also about finding a new purpose when your dream might never happen and how love might fit in where you never thought it could before.
Four Weddings and a Puppy
Former elite skiers Kendall Walsh and Brody James find themselves in their hometown at the same time as they both work to figure out what’s next for their lives. Brody had always been Kendall’s brother’s best friend and an untouchable golden boy. Kendall had always had a plan to get where she was going and fast, but trying to revitalize her family’s ski resort isn’t going the way she wants when Brody swoops in to save the day. Over the course of four weddings being held at the resort Kendall and Brody realize that their connection runs deeper than a just a shared passion for skiing.
This was a cute, sweet and easy read! It also feels like a perfect cozy read for winter since it’s set in a Vermont ski lodge and town. Kendall and Brody are so fun as childhood friends who reconnect as adults.
I liked the way the relationship was handled by Kendall’s brother Kev, too. He gave one warning and then just accepted that they were adults making an adult decision that didn’t include him. It was refreshing.
Recommended for sweet romance readers who enjoy: 🧍♂️brother’s best friend 👧 childhood friends to lovers 🎿 cozy ski resort towns 🐶 a mischievous but lovable puppy 🤭 “let’s just get it out of our system” 🏔️ no 3rd act breakup 🍭 Hallmark style happy endings

Thank you to Netgalley and Forever Publishing for the advanced copy to read and review. All opinions are my own!
I love the rescue puppies getting the couples together!
Kendall Walsh would do anything to save her family’s ski resort after the end her skiing career even be a wedding planner. But her foster dog, Banner might ruin all of her plans with his rambunctious behavior with the cake being rescued by her brother’s best friend and her biggest crush Brody James.
Olympian Brody James was using his break from the racing season to help Kendall out and to figure what he wanted to do after the death of his biggest competitor. But he couldn’t get Kendall out of his mind after he kissed her.
I love the theme of rescue puppies running through all of the Pine Hollow series and the puppies helping to get the couples together.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a cute little hallmark romcom. I did think there would be more puppy interactions. Howvever Kendall and Brody were cute and fun though i do wish they had more heartfelt converses and that the side characters had more of a role rather than just getting married. Kendall’s Brother and Brody’s best friend could have been non existent and it wouldn’t have mattered. However you get what you expect from hallmark esc romcom. Its cute and fade to black romantics moments that make for a light read.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I can’t wait to go back and read the other books in this series. Kendall is an Olympic skier who career ended at the age of seventeen after asking accident. She has since been working at her parent skiing lodge and feeling stagnant in life. Brody is at the ski lodge for a wedding and ends up staying and working while he gives his body and mind a rest from his own skiing career. I absolutely loved these two! The banter between them was funny, but I really enjoyed their emotional talks. They touched my heart and may even made my eyes leak a bit. And we can’t forget the lovable pup, Banner, and all his shenanigans. Seriously had me cracking up. This was a fairly quick read that I really enjoyed. I love the writing style, the ski lodge setting and felt a connection with the main characters.
Thank you to Forever Grand Publishing & NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
I didn’t realize this book was part of a series, but it could absolutely be read as a SA! With such a fun and wholesome group of friends I could see why there are so many books in this series.
This was a quick and sweet romantic comedy full of dogs, friends, family, trying to find out who you are as an adult and what you want out of life to feel fulfilled. Brody & Kendall were both super likable and realistic characters doing their best to deal with the cards life had dealt them.
Brody is world famous for his skiing as an Olympian, so everyone is quite confused when he just randomly shows up to their small hometown of Pine Hollow, Vermont. But no one is more surprised than Kendall to see her childhood friend, and teenage crush back at their old stomping grounds.
Brody bailed on his skiing team to flee home because he felt like couldn’t breath. Kendall has been working relentlessly at her families Ski Resort, after her skiing career was cut short by a life threatening accident. It doesn’t take long for Brody to volunteer to help Kendall out around the resort, while he figures out what he wants do with his life.
Together they navigate a successful renovation of the Lodge at the Resort, training her crazy foster puppy Banner, and spending time getting to know each other again. Just as things start to fall into place for them to try and be together, Brody must decide if he will return to his Olympic skiing team, or stay in Vermont with Kendall.
A sweet romance read perfect for this winter season, to read cuddled up by the fire! Also Pine Hollows, Vermont seems like the dreamiest place to spend a cold winter day!
This was so cute & fun. I picked it up mostly for the cover & title, but it did not disappoint. Nothing new or mind blowing, but if you love a hallmark movie, friends to lovers trope, or dogs then I would recommend.
When two childhood friends return home after their sports careers don't go as planned, a puppy just may give them a second chance at happiness together. She’s always been the girl with the plan . . . until the plan crashed big time
Kendall Walsh has exactly one second to save a fancy, five-tiered wedding cake and any possibility of being a wedding planner—not to mention her family’s struggling ski resort. All because of one very cute, very furry, golden menace of a retriever who has a serious thing for butter chiffon icing. Which is exactly when Olympic skier Brody James shows up and saves the day . . . and the cake.
Brody makes Kendall feel about a million indecipherable things. He’s her brother’s bestie. Her first crush. And a ridiculously popular Olympic hero, which only reminds her of her own failed Olympic dreams. What Brody isn’t telling her is that he’s walked away from it all. The fame. The sponsorships. The celebrity girlfriend. Now he and Kendall are both lost somewhere between their past and a future they can’t yet see. But four weddings, one mischievous puppy, and a few steamy kisses later, these two might just realize that they are both exactly where they need to be…with each other.
I thought this was a great closed door romance! The characters were well written and it reminded me of a Hallmark movie. Also Banner is the best puppy!
This was cute but I wanted a little bit more from it. I liked that she had a crush on him when they were kids, it added a fun little dynamic. All of her friends pushing her towards him was fun too.
I received an arc through netgalley.
Kendall's feelings for her brother's friend Brody run deep. Her first crush is now an Olympic star, reminding her of her own lost dreams. But unbeknownst to Kendall, Brody has left behind fame and celebrity, burned out and unsure what comes next. Navigating their shared past toward an unknown destiny, their passionate kisses make them wonder if they belong in each other’s arms.
Kendall and Brody are cute together, but they're both dealing with complicated choices. So while this is a light-hearted rom com in terms of the romance, it also has deeper meaning in terms of the character development. I enjoyed these characters and how well they aligned with each other.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Rating: 4.5 Stars
This was such a sweet romance! I am always excited for romances where people have history with each other, and Kendall and Brody went back twenty some-odd years. Their early friendship was one of a competitive nature where Brody spent his time trying to catch Kendall on the slopes. Fast forward, Brody became an Olympian and a star on the circuit, while Kendall's racing dreams came to an end with a catastrophic accident. But fate found them both in Pine Hollow this winter, and as we all know, timing is everything.
Friends-to-lovers is a favorite trope of mine, and Brody and Kendall shared so many years together. They may not have been close as teens, and it may have been several years since Brody has spent time in Pine Hollow, but the bond remained and latent or unknown feelings were awakened upon his return.
This reunion was thrilling to me, but I really loved that spending time with each other helped Kendall and Brody see their futures a bit clearer. Both were at a point in their lives where they were trying to figure out who they were beyond skiing. For Kendall, it was the loss of her Olympic dream, and she had been struggling for years trying to find herself. Brody's situation was a bit more complicated as he was currently still a star in that world, though he was grappling with wanting more for his life. It touched my heart that they were able to nudge each other towards taking those steps forward. For Kendall, it was finding a new dream while Brody needed to find balance and time for life outside his sport. Regardless of what they were seeking, it was obvious that being together was something that made them feel grounded and happy.
The romance and personal journeys definitely stood out for me, and this was nestled perfectly in a beautiful mountain setting. I very much enjoyed learning about Pine Hollow and this mountain resort. The weddings and antics of one rambunctious puppy added to the fun. I would be remiss in not mentioning the great supporting characters. Kendall's two best friends were standouts, and they all shared the type of friendship that would make me jealous.
As if I was not already feeling the feels that epilogue had me grinning from ear to ear. It was then that I realized how invested I was in Kendall and Brody's futures, and I was so pleased with where they landed. This was my first trip to Pine Hollow, but I plan on making more and catching up with the previous couples in the series.
Thank you to Forever and NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
If you’re looking for a sweet, Hallmark like, closed door sports romance, this book is it. It was fun, well written and the characters were great. Brody and Kendall had witty banter, a wonderful friendship and so much chemistry! Not to mention, Banner, the chaotic golden retriever puppy, that brought the two of them together.
This book is part of series but can be read as a standalone. Definitely a fun read for the winter!
Kendall Walsh was on track to be an Olympic skier when she had a life altering accident at 17. She has spent six years working at her family’s ski resort doing everything from event coordinator to manager with little to no recognition from her father. Brody James is an Olympic skier. He was her brother’s best friend growing up and her teen crush. They meet again when he attends his cousin's wedding at the resort. Officially he is taking a break because of his knee but mostly he wants a mental break and to be with family and friends. Sparks fly between the two when he agrees to work at the resort for a short time. They are working to restore the old lodge which will be the wedding venue for his sister.
This is the fifth in the Pine Hollow series but can be read as a stand alone. I’ve read the entire series and the first three books were about one friend group (guys who play poker together). Then a side three women friend group was added for the next set. The couple from #4 (Pride & Puppies Nov 2022) is one of the weddings in this book. All the books share being in Pine Hollow and having a dog as part of the set up. Some of the books are kissing only and others like this one are closed door for intimacy.
I liked Kendall and Brody. The playfulness with one another and indulging in truth or dare games is fun. And I like that Brody shares his feelings first. Kendall’s friend group of Charlotte and Magda add to the storyline. I was less thrilled with how the story resolves the situation with her father. It wasn’t enough for me considering the years she spent looking for his recognition. I am looking forward to Magda’s story next.
Four Weddings and a Puppy by Lizzie Shane has me wanting to start reading her backlog. Because this story was an amazing read!
This sweet romance story will keep you falling in reading with its banter, fun characters and of course adorable pups.
I adore Shane’s writing. She never fails to keep me so entertained and flipping third pages. Her writing flows beautifully and her characters are relatable and so much fun to get to know.
Another warm, light, sweet and amazing story.
