Many of the reviews say to go in to this blind, and I couldn’t agree more.
This was a wild ride, this book has everything. Pacing is great and suspense is followed by shock.
This was really the full package.
"The New Nanny" by L.G. Davis is a beautifully crafted novel that effortlessly weaves together elements of heartwarming bonding and spine-tingling mystery. Set against the backdrop of Austria, the story follows Christa, who takes on the role of a nanny for troubled teenager Wyatt. As the plot unfolds, we are introduced to the opulent Mayers' household, Christa's initial awe at their extravagant lifestyle, and the mysterious circumstances surrounding Wyatt's previous nanny. She is taken aback by the the cold relationship between Robin and Paul, and their son Wyatt. The fact that Robin asks her not to leave the house and keeps her teenage son isolated adds even more to the overall feeling of isolation, leaving Christa confused, and in need o protect Wyatt and give him some glimpses of freedom outside the house.
The author's writing style is both engaging and immersive, effortlessly transporting readers to the striking glass family home of the Mayers. The lavish descriptions paint a vivid picture of opulence and grandeur, contrasting starkly with Christa's humble background, setting the stage for a compelling tale of two worlds colliding.
I really liked that we got more than one point of view in the novel. The story is presented through the eyes of both Christa and we also get glimpses into Robin's perspective, giving readers a unique insight into their inner thoughts, emotions, and perspectives. This dual perspective adds depth to the characters, making them feel more authentic and relatable.
Christa's growing connection with Wyatt is heartwarming to witness. As she breaks through his shell of troubled silence, we see the emergence of a genuine bond between them. The portrayal of their blossoming friendship is tender and heartening, as they spend long afternoons indulging in games and baking apple pies. The way the author captures the joy of these simple moments underscores the beauty of human connection and the healing power of compassion.
However, as the plot unfolds, a shadow of mystery creeps in when Christa discovers the unsettling truth about the fate of Wyatt's previous nanny. This revelation takes the story into unexpected territory, made even more thrilling with the appearance of a mysterious stranger that Christa falls for. The seamless blending of heartwarming moments with spine-chilling intrigue, mystery, the apprehensive attitude of the locals toward Christa and the family, keeps the pages turning, making it difficult to put the book down.
LG Davis skillfully intertwines Christa and Wyatt's personal growth arcs with the unraveling mystery of the Mayers' household. The author masterfully manages to strike a balance between the two elements, creating a well-rounded narrative that keeps readers hooked until the very end.
In conclusion, "The New Nanny" is a well-written, captivating novel that skillfully combines heartwarming emotions with thrilling suspense. The dual points of view offer an enriched reading experience, allowing readers to understand the complexities of the characters better. The awe-inspiring descriptions transport us into the lavish world of the Mayers, while the genuine bond between Christa and Wyatt warms our hearts, but still leaves us questioning is everything is as it seems. LG Davis delivers an unforgettable tale that lingers in the mind long after the final page has been turned.
How far would one women go to make sure the child that was took from her is safe? This is the story about how Wyatt's mother lies her way and fights to protect him no matter what in this thriller by L.G Davis. The first book in a brand new series by this author will keep you turning the pages.

I enjoyed it.
Christa Rogers travels to Austria to her new job as a live-in nanny to a 15-year-old awkward teenager. Despite the false claims on her resume of having a qualification in child psychology, Christa and Wyatt strike up a quick and close friendship. They also live alongside Wyatt's mostly absent father and his mother who is struggling with a personal issue and keeps herself confined to her room. It soon becomes clear that everyone in the family has secrets and that it's probably best that they stay deeply hidden. But will they?
Although it felt like a parody of Nanny Needed by Georgina Cross, I really enjoyed it. Although I didn't like that nanny.
Order it if you want a quick read.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.
At first this book had me smugly thinking how predictable it was. Boy was I wrong. Nothing was as it seemed and every twist delighted me as much as it shocked. The tension positively oozed from the pages as I thought again and again that Christa was going to get caught. The thrilling climax left me reeling. Therefore I was excited to see that this author has written several more psychological thrillers.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book
Thank you to the author, L. G Davis, the publisher Bookouture and to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book early in exchange for this honest review.

This is my first book by this author and I thought it to be a good read. An intriguing mystery with a very creepy undertone. I found all of the characters very believable and overall, the story is a strong page-turner. I easily read this story within a few hours and couldn't wait to discover all the juicy secrets that kept me on the edge of my seat as the story developed.
Overall, this was a good read and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a quick mystery to get lost in. I will also look for other books written by this author as I thought the writing style and the different personalities of the characters were really strong. I also enjoyed seeing a different POV through the use of a diary as it really helped to break up the timeline a little and give some background to the characters.

5 stars ⭐️ this book kept me on my toes the entire time. I loved all of the twists and characters. There were new developments all throughout which I appreciated. Thank you NetGalley for this ARC! I def. Recommend this book!!
Wow just WOW!! This book was insane!! It kept me on the edge of my seat. There was so many plot twists I never saw coming. I wish we would have gotten more of Christa’s backstory. I’m genuinely interested in knowing more about her troubled past.
Robin and Paul Mayer hire Christa to travel with them to Austria for 3 months, so Paul could be closer to his ill mother. Christa agrees so that she can be close to Wyatt, Robin and Paul’s 15 year old adopted son. When they arrive to Austria, Robin is quick to let it be known that she does not want Christa and Wyatt near the village people. Robin was afraid the villagers would tell Christa about the previous nanny, who abruptly went missing 7 years before.
3,5 stars rounded up. This is a psychological thriller which was pretty good. A real page turner, I couldn't wait to see what happened. This is book one in a series. I can't say much about the book without giving away the whole plot. Actually it's best to go into this book without reading much about it.
Christa takes a job as a maid slash nanny. Most of her job focuses on maid duties, since the child is 14. She flies off to Austria to be with the family for the summer. Christa is hiding a lot of secrets, most we don't find out about in this book, but the big secret we learn. The family is hiding their own secrets. Personally, if I was Christa, I would have high tailed it out of that place. Christa meets a man in town and the secrets of the family begin to unravel. But how deep do these secrets go? How deeply do christa's secrets go? Ohhh boy, you'll be shocked.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC copy. I highly recommend this book.
I really enjoyed this book! It had some good twists, but I was not super satisfied with the ending. It wasn’t bad but I had hoped for another twist.
This book follows Christa as she travels abroad to Austria for work as a family assistant. She will be helping around the house as well as taking care of 15 year old Wyatt. The family she’s caring for has just suffered a tragedy and needs her help to get them back to normal. The twist? Wyatt is Christa’s son that she gave up when she was 17! She has planned to try and get him back, which is why she took this job. However, another mystery has happened with this family and everything is not what it seems. Christa has to find out what really happened to the woman who was the nanny before she arrived.
Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture, and L.G. Davis for allowing me to read this book before it’s release on Sep 11, 2023!
What would you do if you lost your son when you were a kid and told he died but later found out he was adopted to another family?
This is giving Freida McFadden vibes. There are soooo many twists. Just when you think you know what’s happening, we’ll you don’t. I was so so wrong.
All of the characters are so dynamic and interesting so love the relationship between Wyatt and Christa and how they bind and how he opens up to her but won’t open up to anyone else.
Then there is Wyatt and his adopted parents and they do not get along. Just feels like a stranger is living with them. Do they even care at this point? All Robyn ever wanted was a baby of her own and she never was able to get that in her life. Wasn’t in the plans no matter how much she wanted it to.
It’s just so gripping, keeps you on your toes. I read this really quickly. It’s nice and short and very action packed. If you like Freida McFadden- you’ll live for this and need more! There’s a second book coming out in this series as well and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
Thank you for the opportunity NetGalley to read this arc 💕
I really enjoyed this one. It was a quick and fun read. Reminded me of Freida McFadden’s books which are my favorite! Christa moves to Austria to become a “house manager” to a family with many secrets. I was on my toes the entire time to figure it all out. Twisty and terrific! 4/5 ⭐️.
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and L.G. Davis for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.
THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST THRILLER BOOKS I HAVE READ THIS YEAR! Honestly I was hooked from the very beginning, the details and descriptions were amazing, as well as the character development.
The New Nanny follows Christa who goes to Austria for the summer to help out the family who employed her to take care of their adopted son Wyatt and help with household chores. Their son is 15 years old............ The entire family is harboring some crazy secrets including Christa, who is Wyatt's biological mother.
This book was awesome and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time, so many twists and turns that I was not expecting at all. Cant wait to read book 2!!!!! 5 Stars.
Thank you netgalley for the ARC.
Loved it! A fabulous, really enjoyable read.
I would highly recommend to family and friends. I love author’s that can describe a scene and you are immediately there, you close your eyes and you picture the scene. This author does that for me.
Wow! Another fantastic read by LG Davis! I am never disappointed when I see a title by this author. This one had kept me guessing right to the end excellent.
Christa travels to Austria to take a position as a nanny to a 15 year old boy, Wyatt.
She makes a connection with Wyatt who doesn't have much to do with his absent father, or his mother who confines herself to her room. But Christa has an alter motive to be there she had a massive secret but she finds out she’s not the only one keeping a secret. Is Christa putting herself and Wyatt in danger by digging into others secrets.
This is a fantastic gripping story which I could not put down. I was suspicious of everyone. Very well written with interesting characters Highly recommended.
A riveting thriller with a mystery that will keep you guessing and clever red herrings that will add suspense and tension. The big twist at the end was jaw dropping.
“People say that revenge is a dish best enjoyed cold, but I prefer to serve mine piping hot.”
L.G. Davis has tapped into our fears and anxieties about the person we trust most with our children - the nanny.
Christa Rogers takes a job in a remote Austrian village as a nanny for an impossibly wealthy and emotionally distant family thinking that she’s found the answer - a ‘way in’ to a better life. What she discovers, instead, is that she’s unknowingly walked into a world of deception and dark secrets. This cooly manipulative family, the Mayers, may be the wealthiest family in town, but it’s the power that they’ve amassed as a result of their wine empire and various bars and restaurants across the country, that is worrisome. Paul and his wife, Robin, hire Christa as a family assistant, combining care of their 15-year-old son, Wyatt, with housemaid responsibilities. It doesn’t take the new nanny long to discover that this family is very different.
This mesmerizing story showcases Davis’ ability to combine a compulsively readable domestic suspense with delicious twists, shocking turns and dark secrets. I was in awe of her ability to manipulate my assumptions! I sat back and relaxed thinking I knew how this was going to turn out because it appeared Davis had shown me her hand - revealed her motives, history and relationships. My bad. Warning: assume nothing.
Davis deftly crafts the illusions of a happy family life and then, with one sweep, allows us to peer behind the veneer of perfection. I was shocked because I wasn’t expecting the degree of ‘imperfection.’
Davis contrasts love and grief extremely well. Her focus on the mother relationship heightens our emotions, only to increase the load by showing us how it feels to lose someone we love. She gives readers reminders to “make peace with the past, to live knowing that “we can’t turn back the clock,” and that “giving up is not an option.” Her theme of being lost permeates this chic noir which blends horrifying secrets, toxic relationships and the possibility of murder.
This twisty psychological suspense about motherhood, obsession and just how far some will go for the perfect family needs to grace your night table!
*Do yourself a BIG favor and DON’T read the synopsis. Go into it blind. I did and it made ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD.
I was gifted this copy by Bookouture and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.
I love abs have read ALL of L.G. Davis's books, and The New Nanny doesn't disappoint.
As Nanny books go, this one is in a league of it's own..
Crista who is hired as a nanny for the summer in Austria has a secret. What She doesn't know is that her employers also have secrets of their own.
And so ensues a dark and complex story of why a 14 yr old boy never leaves the house, why he needs a nanny and why the towns people.shun the family..
What happened the previous nanny?
Overall, I enjoyed the book immensely, but I felt the synopsis gave away too much of the story.
I'm hoping the next book will tell us more about Crista's background story.
That being said the twists and shock value through out the book are on point, and the story comes together in a dramatic climax.
I can't wait to read the next book on the series.
Publication date September 11th

“The New Nanny” is a thriller/mystery by LG Davis. I thought this book started out a bit slowly, then gained momentum as the book got rolling. This story has a number of twists (and red herrings), though I rather quickly figured out who did the deed, though I wasn’t quite sure why. This book is told in two points of view both present and past. I have to admit, one line really cut to my heart and while the person who wrote the line wasn’t my favorite character, that line just made me really not like that person at all. I know that this book is the beginning of a series and I’m interested in learning more about the main character’s background.
Thankyou to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.
This is my first title by this author and I enjoy it so much.
I like the well set out characters, the short chapters and the multiple pov.
I was drawn in and I was shocked at the twists and turns in this book.
When the big twist was revealed my jaw was as literally on the floor I could not believe it.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants a thriller that has you questioning the everyone, every turn of the page!
