The New Nanny is an absolute page turner of a psychological thriller. As soon as I finished the first chapter I was hooked. The characters in this book are all extremely well described and you really don’t know who to trust. The author writes in such an awesome way that I didn’t want to stop reading when I finished a chapter. There were a couple of great twists of which I never saw coming. Always a sign of a great book when you’re jaw nearly drops to the floor in surprise. From start to finish this book completely absorbed me and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. 5⭐️
Thank you to Net Galley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book. This was a quick, fast paced, easy to read thriller. It was very readable and I was anxious to see what would happen. I would have liked to read more from Robin’s standpoint. I felt that the dialogue was unrealistic. It was a little far fetched. There were a lot of twists - most I didn’t see coming. I didn’t think the characters would super likable. I will be reading the next book for sure.
This was even better than I had expected! So many great twists, it kept me guessing until the end. This was the first time I've read anything by the author, and I will definitely be reading more!

"People say that revenge is a dish best enjoyed cold, but I prefer to serve mine piping hot."
Having enjoyed the last four books by Liz, I was thrilled to receive this new one and its sequel. But I don't know if it was just me (with a few things going on RL) that this one didn't quite enamour me as the others. It was still a thrilling read, chilling even in parts, and it left you feeling "what the heck have I just read?" I think I found the characters hard to connect to also which does make a story difficult.
We meet Christa as she lands in Austria to take up a nanny/housekeeper position with the Mayers at their luxurious villa. The family may be impossibly wealthy with everything they could ever want but they are emotionally distant, neglecting their their 15 year old adoptive son Wyatt. But for Christa, he is the very reason she took this job.
When she was just 17 years old, Christa had a baby boy who was then wrenched away from her and adopted out. By chance she came across Wyatt after searching for her little boy and was determined to be in his life. She fakes her experience and talks herself up to get the job and thus accompanies the family to Austria for the summer. It isn't long before Christa sees how the family behaves around Wyatt and how he reacts to their presence. And it breaks her heart. And so she befriends the boy, determined to look out for him as his parents obviously don't.
But when Christa wants to take Wyatt out of the villa to experience life beyond it, Robin vehemently forbids it. Wyatt has everything he needs in the villa; he doesn't need to leave. Over games of chess and board games, Christa bonds with Wyatt and before long she ignores Robin's strict rules forbidding him to leave. He is like a different boy out in the village and when he is with the horses he begged her to take him to see. It seems it is only in Robin and Paul's company is he silent and withdrawn. And Christa finds herself wondering why that is...
Then she meets James on one of her outings who tells her about the previous nanny that worked for the Mayers seven years before. She disappeared without a trace and was never heard from again. Rumours are rife in the village, and the reason why Robin doesn't venture out herself. But after a little digging of her own, Christa wonders if she hasn't unknowingly walked into a trap. Filled with secrets and deception, the manipulative Mayer family have lured Christa into their web...but is it too late to make her escape? Before it's too late? And what will it mean for Wyatt? She can't leave him behind.
The tale is compelling and fast paced but I felt it was lacking something of Davis' other thrillers. What that is, I'm not sure, but it is something. However, the pages are still filled to the brim with dark secrets, twisted lies, deadly deceptions and shocking twists. Basically, assume nothing. I have to wonder where the second one "The Nanny's Child" will take us.
A twisted psychological suspense thriller about motherhood, obsession and dark dark secrets.

What an addictive and twisty thriller this book was! The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put this book down and finished it in 2 days! I absolutely loved this story and can’t wait to read the 2nd book in this series.
If you're a fan of Freida McFadden and Daniel Hurst, this one's for you.

So good. I really enjoyed the plot twist and it was very fast paced. I love thrillers that involve housemaids and Nannie’s so this one was right up my alley! Highly recommend!
Thanks to #NetGalley and #Bookouture for the ARC of #TheNewNanny by #LGDavis. This book had many different kind of feels and emotions. I loved the drama, the many secrets and the twist ending. I am getting ready to dig in to the next book, The Nanny’s child.
THE SON by LG Davis. Well, what a ride that was! I’ve seen many books about Nanny's lately so I went in expecting the same sort of storyline but what I got was something way different. Christa signs on as a nanny/housekeeper for the Mayers family. Her first encounter is with Wyatt, the 15 year old son. Wyatt is quiet, withdrawn and not receptive to Christa. She meets Robin, who suffered a miscarriage a year ago and is still unable to cope. I got an instant creepy vibe from the start and when the note appeared that said “Trust No One” I was trusting no one! This book was so fast paced my kindle froze from me flipping so fast. I can’t wait to read the next book! A huge thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for approving my request to read this ARC ebook.
The New Nanny is book 1 in The Lies We Tell series L.G. Davis.
A thrilling page-turner that kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.
The New Nanny is an excellent read for anyone who enjoys suspenseful thrillers. It is well-written, with a well-developed protagonist and a gripping storyline.
This novel is a masterful work of suspense that keeps readers engaged from beginning to end.
Davis kept me engaged and entertained the entire way through.

Thank You NetGalley and Bookouture for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
Fairly new author to me. Great book I will not reiterate the story because its been done on here plenty of times. There were lots of great twists in this story.... The majority of which I didn't see coming. Make sure you clear your day., you will want to read this straight through.
Fast paced, gripping and twisty! Don’t read the blurb - go in blind for more suspense!
I was completely immersed in this exceptional thriller from the very first page. Christa’s determination to find the baby boy who was taken away from her at birth leads her to Austria, where she takes a job as a nanny/housekeeper
As her relationship with teenager Wyatt grows, so does the huge rift in his relationship with his adoptive parents, Robin and Paul. Rumours in the village are rife and Christa is shocked to discover the chilling reason why there was a vacancy for a new nanny.
Character development was excellent, I really liked Christa and felt connected with her, Wyatt and James. As the story developed and we started to learn more of Christa’s and Robin’s backstories, it became more and more sinister and creepy.
Assume that nobody is telling the truth, prepare to be manipulated and try and remember to breathe!
4.5⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, L. G. Davis and Bookouture for an ARC in return for an honest review.
Christa has moved in with the Mayer's as the new nanny to their 15 year old son Wyatt. Each of these characters have an alterior motive. After Christa discovers shocking details of the previous nanny, she is set on finding out what really happened.
Without giving any spoilers. I have to admit the author had a stellar storyline, however the execution of it was questionable, with inconsistencies, to the flow of the story it made it feel a tad unrealistic.
The New Nanny LG Davis
5 stars
Full of twists and turns
Christa has taken a job as a live-in nanny to a 15 year old boy, Wyatt. The boy’s adopted parents do not seem interested in him and his mother, Robin, is particularly hard on him especially since she has just suffered a miscarriage. Paul, his father, is constantly working and has no time for his son. Christa is determined to help Wyatt and make his life more enjoyable but the real reason is soon apparent, Wyatt is her son!
Christa has moved from America to a small village in Austria where this book is set. However Wyatt is not allowed to go to the village nor have any friends. It is only when Christa receives a hostile reception in the local shop that she discovers that the previous nanny Eva had disappeared seven years previously and the Mayers are suspected of her murder!
As the book progresses Christa begins to fear for her and Wyatt’s safety and enlists the help of a local man, James, to try and discover what has happened. But is James really what he seems?
This is just the sort of book I enjoy reading. It is full of twists and turns and kept me guessing what had happened in the past and what is going to happen in the future. Once all was revealed it is quite apparent that there is a new book coming to continue the story and I will be requesting this book from Netgalley as soon as it is released.

This book pulled me in immediately, and could not put it down so make sure to clear your schedule ;) I finished this book in one day- Just when I thought I knew what was happening or was going to happen, I would be completely thrown off and LG Davis would throw her famous twists in. This is a fast paced thriller with a cast of suspicious characters.
If you enjoy reading books by Freida McFadden, Minka Kent, and Kiersten Modglin then you should give this book a try. You won't regret it.
A twisty domestic thriller, that started hot, slowed down a little but then sprinted to the end!
When you arrive in a foreign country, working for a new family, in a huge house and receive a note that translates to “Be careful”…
I immediately drew a liking to Christa and desperately needed to know what her childhood entailed and why she was so determined for this particular job.
Wyatt gives me the creeps to be honest, he feels like an obsessive little puppy that will do anything for what he wants.
Robin makes me feel on edge consistently and Paul reminds me of a shitty business dad that has no time for his fam.
The entire first half of the book made me feel the classic “get out before it’s too late” and “why aren’t you running for the hills” vibe, but then I cheered her on until the end.
James is a rarity and added a sense of ease for Christa and me as the reader.
A great read, but I still have questions… hoping they are covered in the second book!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookotuture for an ARC 🤍
Christa is a charming woman just looking to form a bond with her new charge- brooding teenager, Wyatt.. or is she? On this wild ride of twists and turns, L.G. Davis makes you question everyone you encounter in this thriller. From Robin and Paul, parents of Wyatt, who seem to have no clue on how to open up with their son and hire Christa to break through to him; to James, the dashing and handsome stranger from the village, who sets his sight on the new nanny. Set in a country where English is not the first language, will the warnings be understood? Trust no one and don't let first opinions fool you! With twists that will leave your jaw on the floor, this thriller keeps you on your toes throughout the entire book!
Christa takes a job as a live in nanny/housemaid for Robin and Paul. Robin is struggling to look after Wyatt their 15 year old son after suffering from a miscarriage a year ago and with Paul working away a lot a live in nanny seems to be the answers to their problems, although Paul isn’t convinced.
It soon becomes clear to Christa that something isn’t quite right in the Mayers household and clearly there are secrets being kept within this family. Robin doesn’t let Wyatt out of the house, he is isolated and it seems he doesn’t get along with his parents and is somewhat of a loner. Christa is determined to change that and to build a relationship with Wyatt, for she too has secrets of her own, she is Wyatts birth mother.
As Christa settles into her role it becomes clear that the families secrets maybe even deeper and darker than she had first imagined and she soon begins to fear for both hers and Wyatts safety, and becomes determined to find out what secrets the Mayers are hiding, but the answers will come at a great cost for everyone involved.
The new Nanny has plenty of exciting twists and turns, it was fast paced, twisty and an exciting read, the only thing I found slightly disappointing was the ending, I like books to end with either a massive twist or a big shock, however I am looking forward to starting my next read, which is the nanny’s child and the second book in this series.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for an advance copy of this book in exchange for this review.
A fast and decent read, which might work for most readers, but not for me. I like the stealth bomber type of thriller--dark, deadly, sleek, seamless, with secrets that fly under the radar. This was more like a sputtering stunt plane. None of the characters were likeable and most weren't very rational. Usually, when I'm into a thriller I'm thinking, "What's going on here?" With this one I was wondering, "Are all these people crazy?" Alas, the ending didn't pull the story out of its nosedive. It was all too predictable.
My thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the eARC. All opinions are my own.
I really enjoy L.G. Davis books, so was looking forward to her take on a thriller involving a nanny.
Seeing as The Housemaid by Freida Mcfadden is one of my favourite ever thrillers, this had some big shoes to fill!
I think, on it's own merit this is a great book! It was really fast paced, with lots of intriguing details, twists and suspicions to keep the readers turning those pages into the night.
I really enjoyed it, and I'm ready to dive into the next book in The Lies We Tell series, The Nanny's Child!
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this eCopy to review
I enjoyed The New Nanny, it was a new take on the nanny thriller as the charge in question is 15 years old. Why does he need a nanny? Why are they not allowed to leave the house? What happened to the old nanny? What are Christa's secrets? So many questions make this book an intriguing read and fast paced to reach its conclusion.
By the end no-one can be trusted and nothing is as it seemed. Full of twists and secrets I cannot wait to read the second book!
