A Vicomte in Minstrel's Clothing

He has loved her for years, and now that she is widowed, he will do anything to win her heart. What does he do? He pretends to be a minstrel. What does she do when she finds out that he is no minstrel, but a nobleman? She despises French nobleman, and she wants nothing to do with love. Marriage is out of the question, but an affair is acceptable. Raf does not want an affair; he wants marriage. However, when an English knight shows up on her doorstep with an ultimatum, Eglantine must make a decision—a decision that will affect her and those around her. What will she do, and what will Raf, the man who loves her do? Does he stay, or does he leave as she asked him to do? I enjoyed this medieval romantic adventure and would recommend it to those who like medieval romance with feisty ladies and determined knights.

This is the second book of the series, and my first by this author. Although I did not read the first book, I had no trouble reading as a standalone. Raf has admired and love Eglantine from a distance for many years. Being deceived once before, Eglantine no longer believes in love and has no use for it. Her relationships are temporary, involving only lust, no love. But Raf is determined to win her heart and make her his for good. We follow their story as they encounter twists and turns and the love between them blossoms and grows. Set in the mid 1300s, the story pulled me right in and captivated me from start to finish. The author did a nice job of bringing the time period to life with vivid details and descriptions. The characters were interesting and charismatic and I enjoyed following their journey. A very enjoyable story!

Set in the mid-1300s, a woman is fighting with lost love and self to keep her sons lands together. Meanwhile a minstrel has been through trauma that was only survived due to the love and light of his dream woman. We follow their stories through ups and downs and through it all is woven a beautiful story of the growth of love. It's a different time period from most historical romance and it's done very well. Nice easy read for lovers of historical romance.

The Minstrel, and The Widow Made a Beautiful Love Story
Raf has loved Eglantine from afar for many years and fate will now bring these two lonely souls together, and we follow them through many twists that will boggle your mind. The burning attraction carries them into a lovely story of swoon worthy desire that will have your face flushed, your heart pounding and you will need your lady's fan handy.
This a fun lighthearted story with wonderful characters that are down to earth, determined, and intelligent. Oh, and sometimes had me frustrated, especially Eglantine.
Some of the highlights are with the little boy Con, the garden with the manure, the many shocking surprises and the story telling was precious. I voiced many OH No's and Oh yeses until the very rewarding and happy end.
The only thing I didn't like was the heroine's name Eglantine. I could figure out how to pronounce it.
