** spoiler alert **
*Thank you NetGalley, Delacorte Press and Natasha Preston for this e-arc. Even though I bought immediately when it came out lol*
Well, this one was a heck of a lot better than The Island for sure!! But first off, I thought this was about a ghost or something based on the title but uh, she fooled me lol. I immediately knew this was going to be good based on the fact that I couldn't put it down! Natasha naturally kept me on my toes, especially with the spooky vibes it gave with it being around Halloween! I will say it usually until the last few chapters that I start to piece together everything, so I knew Grace and Omar did it, but I will say she got me in the first half not going to lie lol! But the grammatical errors were very noticeable, and I just couldn't deal with it. Also, I don't know if she meant to do this to confuse the readers, but the characters would say one thing for their alibi and then when asked again not 20 minutes later it's a completely different alibi...Along with them not questioning their messages not being answered or things like that. I honestly thought her parents were behind it lol, I don't know why but they gave off that feeling. That ending though!! I have a feeling Nash shot Zayn, it just seems right also Zayn's character was kind of on the "weird side", especially after he found Penny at the movie theater based on his "instincts", yea uh huh, try again! But anyways, I loved this, and I want to say thank you again to NetGalley, Delacorte Press and Natasha Preston for this e-arc.

Nash and Graces father was sent to prison for the murders of their friends. More murders start occurring and Penny, Nash’s ex girlfriend starts looking into the murders.
This was a great, creepy, Halloween read that keeps you guessing. Thanks NetGalley and Random House Children’s for this free readers copy!

Natasha Preston is the queen of creepy, fast-paced, young adult thrillers and The Haunting iswas just that!
It was a perfect choice for this time of year and had me on the edge of my seat. I kept changing my mind on who the “bad guy” was practically each chapter.
Were there some parts that were predictable and not very believable? Yes, but I enjoyed it anyways. It was fun and I could picture it all in my head like a scary movie!

Last Halloween Jackson Whitmore was put awway for life for the brutal massacre of teenagers leading up to Halloween niight. Almost a year later and things have finally loosened up a bit. Tensions are still running a little high as the anniversary is coming up, also the fact the Jackson Whitmore's kids still live in town even though they have been ostracized.
Omar, Zayne, Adi and Penny have been friends for life and once upon a time Nash Whitmore was part of that group as well. After the murders they were all warned to stay away from Nash especially brutal for Penny who is very much in love with Nash.
When Penny and Adi go shopping for Halloween costumes Penny finds a body of a student they attend school with brutally murdered in the same way as last Halloween. Penny swears she glimpses someone in the same outfit and mask that Jackson wore last year, but he is serving life in prison and Penny swears it can't be Nash or his Sister Grace as they seem to have alibi's.
Who is stalking the town again copying the horrible murders of last Halloween and how big will the body count be this time?
I very much enjoyed #TheHaunting by #NatashaPreston. Although not necessarily scary this did keep me wondering and so confused as to who the killer is. The ending though, that ending is going to get you and like me you may end up wanting to throw the book at a wall.
Thank you #Netgalley for the chance to read #TheHaunting by #NatashaPreston in return for a fair and honest review.

REVIEW/ The Haunting
The Haunting follows Penny, and begins exactly one year after the town had a serial killer on the loose. The serial killer just so happened to be Pennys ex boyfriend. Now there seems to be another serial killer in town since more bodies starting showing up. They soon realize there’s a copycat killer and no one can be trusted!
Man, I really wanted to love this one since I’ve loved all of Preston’s other books I’ve read. But The Haunting just felt rushed. And don’t even get me started on the way it ended… one more book or at least an epilogue would have made this so much better and I feel like a lot of people would agree. I do love how the time setting was around Halloween and gave off slasher vibes so it was a good book to read in October!
Thank you @netgalley and @delacortepress for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook.
I was very much intrigued with the cover and the title but it was just eh.
I felt like this book was written by a middle schooler and I was reading her notes. The story wasn't that good and didn't keep my interest.

I am a huge fan of Natasha Preston. Her books pull me in from beginning to end EVERY TIME!! This was a great read and it kept you on the edge of your seat. I didn't see all of the ending twist coming. This would be a perfect spooky season read. This book gave me slasher movie feels. If this all sounds interesting then please pick this book up and enjoy!!!
Thank you NetGalley and Random House Children's, Delacorte Press for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.

Halloween is a week away and Penny is having trouble getting in the season, last year at this time she had a boyfriend Nash his sister Grace was a good friend and she thought his dad was a nice guy but now his dad has been convicted of murder and Nash and his sister or outsiders in the town and her parents wasted no time telling Penelope to stay away! She spendser time hanging out with her best friend Addie, Zane and Omar. She mrs. Nash someone her and her three friends don’t talk about but when a fellow student is murdered the same way as nash’s dad‘s murders she feels she must go tell him. Although Penny doesn’t know what to expect from their meeting she feels after talking to Nash it all went sideways he was understandably angry but she also knew he was hiding something from her like who’s truck was in the driveway but when he is accused of the murder Anthony thinks she sees his dad driving that same truck she knows something is up… But what is it? When people go missing in a couple or found dead she knows it will be up to her despite one of the main culprits is possibly her best friend. This book was really good if you like teen horror stories you’ll definitely like The Haunting they do have a couple of scary parts but mostly this is a mystery in a pretty good one at that because I could not figure out who it was and OMG when I did I was flabbergasted! This really is a solid read from a talented writer I want to thank the publisher and NetGalley for my free arc copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

Ms. Preston is an absolute master weaver of horror and thrillers. This is the third book that I have read from her, and consistently and across the board, I can no predict the ending, or the next big thing to happen, which I think is really hard when the reader is constantly coming up with theories. I also love how unique each of her books are, one from each other, and from other authors works. A formal review will be posted on GR and IG

I have read three of Preston's previous books and this book did not disappoint!! I would highly recommend... The writing was excellent and the build up of the characters were great. If you like mysteries/thrillers then you're in for a treat! You're going to want to grab a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and curl up by a fireplace and get into this book... My only teeny tiny issue was it ended in a cliffhanger, but I hope that means there will be a sequel!

I like reading Natasha Preston because I fly through her books. I liked that I didn't know who the killer truly was until the end. The dialogue is very YA which is to be expected. Penny was a very easy character to dislike, which worked. There is an opportunity for a sequel.

I have been a fan of Natasha’s since her debut book, Silence was on Wattpad. I absolutely loved The Haunting and I can’t wait to read whatever Natasha writes next.

Natasha Preston is a master at her craft! This book was twisted and unexpected in a way I don't often feel.

This is the third book by Natasha Preston I’ve read and man did this one keep me hooked!! I finished this book in less than 6 hours and I did not see the twist coming!! SO good!!

I received an advanced copy of this ebook from the publisher for a honest review. This book is well written and the characters are well described. I absolutely loved this author’s writing style. It keeps you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what will happen next from the first page. I enjoyed Nash and Penny’s characters. It has all the fantastic twist and turns a great thriller needs. This book is in stores for $12.99 (USD).

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this book.
If you are looking for a quick, scary Halloween read, this one is for you!
Full of horror, murder, Nahum and mystery.
A great mystery thriller read.
Recommend.

3 Stars
I loved how fast-paced this was, and this was the perfect book to read for spooky season. The biggest issue I had with this book was that the ending was a cliffhanger.
Thank you to NetGalley for sending me an e-ARC of this book!

I love this one! It was perfect timing for Halloween and spooky vibes. Natasha Preston is always a quick buy for me and I love the smooth flow.

The Haunting is perfect for fans of the Scream franchise and other classic slasher films.
It is a fast paced and tense story that takes place in a small farming town the week leading up to Halloween, which is also the one year anniversary of the brutal murders of five teenagers.
I think slasher fans will really appreciate the vibes and twists in this one!

I love this author so much. These books tend to be silly creepy. This one has a serial murderer who targets teens. The opening scene involves our girl finding the body of a classmate on the floor of the party store.
Instead of freezing up and needing help she tells her friends mom she needs to go home and then goes to see her old boyfriend whose dad was last year's serial murderer. Her parents are at work so she's on her own AFTER DISCOVERING A BODY,
Beautiful.
And then she sneaks out at midnight! You can't have a good story if people are making good choices.
I just love it. This was a fun book.
Thank you so much for the ARC. This was a fun Halloween read.
