I have read Queen of Roses and was absolutely loving this theme of story. I couldn't wait to read the next book, so I was very happy to be able to read the ARC. And just like the first book, this book did not disappoint.

The book continues where the first one stopped. Morgan and Draven are in his court and Morgan has to learn to live like his paramour. She's constantly fighting herself due to her feelings. This makes a very interesting point of view. I really liked that the story was based on the POV of Morgan ánd Draven. I liked the chemistry between them and loved how the story unfolded further in the book. There's a lot of secrets between the two and I really enjoyed how they unfolded and how it brought them together and then again, drove them apart. Somewhat like a cat and mouse play.

Anyway, I gave the book 5 stars and was lucky to have received the third book as an ARC too, so I immediately started reading that one. Because obviously I want to know what happens next!

So, I read the last book and was really intrigued by the storyline that the author is building. Which has not changed one bit. It is actually the thing that keeps me coming back to the story. The world building is amazing and so are many of the characters. The big downside is the main character Morgan, she is certainly strong-willed and slowly coming into her own. Her distrust of people makes sense. But the stubbornness is ridiculous and when paired with what seems like no real ability to listen to anything anyone has to say, it makes for a lot of miscommunication, which is sadly not my favorite trope. I quite literally feel bad for every character who tries to help her in any way in this book because they just don't deserve that.

I know I will end up going for the next book however because again, I am hooked by the greater overall plot of this story and it redeemed the downsides enough for me to not DNF months ago.

”if only it didn’t have to be this way. you’re all i think about. you’re all i see. i’m so tied to you i barely know who i am anymore.”

this was such a spectacular read, I am so hooked on this series and am excited for the third to get some much needed answers and more of these characters!! I was entirely invested and didn't see the twists coming, it was such an addictive read! Morgan is such an interesting character, I can't wait to see more of the romance grow in the next books!

I loved this book! The plot flowed really smoothly, I didn’t feel like there was a dip at all. The characters are really fun and I was able to connect with them well.

Another incredible book in this series! A court of claws has blown me away with the depth and developments. The forced proximity and the flip between victim & victor in the relationship between them. Desperate for more! The trials blew me away & I’m really trying not to spoil it but smut, story, magic & darkness

This second installment of Briar Boleyn’s Blood of a Fae series did not disappoint. Draven and Morgan. But this is about the point when I feel a series can start to slump. It did stretch a bit between the main characters being physically so far from each other leaving no interaction but the device to bring them together was great!

I feel both the FMC and MMC grew a lot in their personal development compared to their earlier selves.

The ending made me so sad but it was the right thing to do. It ends on a perfect set up for the final installment of the series.

Thank you NetGalley, Starwater Press, and Briar Boleyn for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.

Once again, I really enjoyed Boleyn's writing, but something was missing for me.

This book is the second part of a series! This review contains spoilers for the first part!

Morgan Pendragon has a war to fight. Her middle brother is ruining her kingdom and she has to be there for her younger brother - but she can't. She's trapped in the Siabra kingdom, and the crown prince is no other than Kairos Draven. He claims he has a plan though - she has to play his mistress for the time being while he wins the crown in a very dangerous competition, and as soon as he has it, they will march on Camelot to save her people - and her friends. Caught in a court of deception and betrayal, Morgan has to play along if she ever wants to get out.
This was a great continuation of the story started in the first volume. I still really enjoyed the characters and the plot. There was a lot of gore and quite a lot more spice than in the first book, but the author also clarifies this at the beginning, so there were no surprises here. The writing in this one felt a lot more repetetive than in the first one - that might be because this is an advanced copy where certain sentences hadn't been edited out yet. Nonetheless, there were a few clilchés in this one that I didn't think were necessary for the story - I really thought we as readers and writers were collectively over breaths the protagonists didn't know they were holding. I'm extremely excitied for the third book, which will probably be my next read.

I just could not get into this one. I ended up DNFing it midway, I may pick it up later, but I dont have the NEED to finish it. I felt the book was tedious and I did not care Morgan, maybe the second half is better?

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. This is book two in the series and it picks up where book one left off. Morgan is doing her best to play by the rules of the court, but all she wants to get is get back to her own and save it from her brother. There are a lot of troupes in this book. My favorite is the enemies to lovers one. I still love that it is a retelling. That part is what makes it fun. Draven still get on my nerves a little bit.

I’m sorry but I DNF this. It was too difficult to get into. Low world building and I got bored. Thank you for the opportunity to try this book.

Woohoo! What a sequel. I thought that this was a very smart book - the challenges, the tales, the dialogue and the cast had me reading way too late into the night. I thought that this was an extremely captivating read and I look forward to more from this author!

What a sequel! The expanded cast, the CHALLENGES?!, mythic creatures, betrayals, spice. This book had a bit of everything and it was a super quick and enjoyable read. Can't wait to get into book three!

I enjoyed the first book and was excited to see the second installment on NetGalley. Unfortunately, I struggled through this one. I find Morgan annoying and hoped she would grow up a little in this book, but she still comes across as immature and flaky. Being annoyed with Morgan resulted in a lack of investment in the story for me. The story arc is promising, but I don’t believe I will tackle the next book in the series.

Thank you to NetGalley, Starwater Press, and Briar Boleyn for the eARC.

4.5⭐️ rounded up

Morgan has been betrayed by the man she was falling in love with, left injured and is now in an unknown land with a man she hates. While Morgan wants to run home to her friends, Draven is determined to keep her safe and by his side but is that possible when they are surrounded by liars and threats?

You should read Court of Claws if you like dark fantasy romances, retellings, mythical creatures, enemies to lovers, tension, banter, forced proximity, “touch her and 💀” bounded mates and found family.

If you were missing the spice in book 1, Boleyn DELIVERED in this book! The sexual tension alone should keep you going. Court of Claws picks up after the cliffhanger of book 1 Queen of Roses with Morgan waking in an unknown bedroom, in a kingdom she has never heard of. Not only that but she is having visions of Camelot in ruin and the only way she will be able to leave and help the ones she loves is to go along with Draven’s plot as his paramour. At the beginning I was finding Morgan a little insufferable, the miscommunication trope definitely peaks its head out, and I found myself yelling at Morgan to just trust Draven and stop being a brat but hey she lived a very sheltered life and has been betrayed and left devastated by the loss of her friend and now is trapped with a man she dislikes with people that don’t like her and want her dead. Draven was a shinning light throughout this book and his dedication and love for Morgan warmed my cold little heart. Theres nothing I love more than an MMC that is patient and soft with the FMC but an absolute badass when it comes to protecting her.

I finished this book in one day, it was so addicting. I am excited for the next book and hopefully to see Morgan fully let Draven in and for them to become a great team to save Camelot. The ending was CRAZY and Im hoping the 3rd book continues on with that momentum and finish strong! Warning this book ends in a cliffhanger! I have already received an ARC copy of book three, Empress of Fae and I can’t wait to start it! And as always please check the TW before reading this book, it is a dark fantasy romance.

Huge thank you NetGalley, Starwater Press and Briar Boleyn for an advanced readers copy for an honest review.

The epic adventure continues - Morgan and Draven, no longer in Pendrath now in Draven's land, his court full of evil, betrayal, corruption, violence, and greed. And ultimately a brutal competition to reach for much needed change, obstacles at every level. The second installment as addictive as the first, with a bit more heat and violence. Everything moving toward the ultimate conflict with Camelot.

“Court of Claws" is a riveting tale that seamlessly blends elements of romance, suspense, and fantasy. Boleyn's evocative writing style draws readers into a world where love and danger coexist, making this novel a captivating read for those who enjoy a potent mix of intrigue and passion.
