Briar Boleyn continues to amaze me, book after book.

Court of Claws was a marvelous sequel to Queen of Roses. The way I am enchanted by every single page is something only Briar Boleyn could do to me.
This book allows us to see the continued evolution of Draven and Morgan's relationship up close and personal. We really start to see the intricacies of Draven's true personality through the book and I am OBSESSED. He is the perfect depiction of a dark, mysterious, dangerous, morally grey character and I couldn't get enough. The constant push and pull of their connection is absolutely intoxicating.

The found powers though?! I won't give too much away but when Morgan discovered everything she could do and manifest, I felt actual butterflies.

The intense, high stakes competition that goes on throughout the second half of the book kept me on the edge of my seat. Briar does a flawless job at weaving together adventure, thrill, mystery, fantasy, and romance all in one book. This second book is, in my opinion, much more action packed than the first and I loved that.

The last few chapters had me THROWING myself against my couch. I was too stunned to speak. I literally told my husband that I needed the rest of the night to process 😂. Briar knows how to break your heart and mend it back together only to SHATTER IT TO PIECES (beautifully of course).

I can't get enough of this series and I will be continuing to devour the next book!
Briar Boleyn has my heart FOREVER.

This book was great! I loved the characters and the development throughout this story. The enemies to lovers. The spice. The touch her and die vibes. There were so many plot twists that made it hard to put down and that cliffhanger at the end. I loved it and cannot wait for the next one! Off to have a book hangover now!

A wonderful twist on King Arthur and Excaliber with fae, giant flying cats and a great enemies to lovers story line.

If lines like "Leave my wife alone" make you weak at the knees, you'll enjoy this love bond series. Tl

Thankfully I have book 3 lined up, can't wait to read it.

This series ended up not being for me, but I definitely see where this is going to have an audience. The fae twist on Arthurian lore is really a unique angle and I think this series will do really well.

I have really struggled to get into this book. I've tried, I read a few chapters and it just didn't capture my attention. Still willing to give it another go some other time.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC!

This is a follow up in the Blood of Fae series. As a sequel, it is very strong. Loved the development of the enemies-to-lovers storyline. The world-building and lore is well-paced, while still holding intrigue and I am very much looking forward to the conclusion of this trilogy.

Diving into "Court of Claws" by Briar Boleyn was like being swept into a vortex of dark fantasy that grips you by the heartstrings and refuses to let go. Boleyn continues to dazzle with her "Blood of a Fae" series, and this second installment is a testament to her ability to weave a tale so enthralling that it borders on magical.

"Queen of Roses" laid the groundwork, introducing us to a world teeming with intrigue and complex characters, and "Court of Claws" builds on that foundation with finesse. For those new to the series, I highly recommend starting with book one, as the sequel enriches the narrative threads previously established.

Morgan Pendragon's journey is a tumultuous one, marked by love and loss, and her awakening in the perilous court of the Siabra is both an end and a beginning. The man Morgan once knew is replaced by an enigma, Kairos Draven, whose intentions are as cryptic as the shadows that dance in the court's corridors.

The relationship between Morgan and Draven is a fiery dance of wills, a push and pull that is as frustrating as it is fascinating. Boleyn masterfully captures the essence of a love-hate dynamic, ensuring readers are just as torn as Morgan. Their lives, now inexorably linked, unfold amidst a backdrop of ancient sins and impending doom that promises to keep one turning pages well into the night.

Briar Boleyn doesn't shy away from mature themes, and her bold narrative is peppered with adult language and steamy encounters that serve to heighten the stakes. The book carries with it trigger warnings, which speaks to the author's mindfulness toward her readers.

For lovers of dark retellings and fae lore, "Court of Claws" is a match made in literary heaven. It's a story that resonates with the echoes of Arthurian legend while charting its own course through a forest of enchantment and danger. If you're drawn to the allure of From Blood and Ash, consider this series your next obsession.

In short, "Court of Claws" is a book that not only meets the expectations set by its predecessor but exceeds them in a display of storytelling that is both raw and refined. Boleyn proves herself a maestro of the genre, and I find myself eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this captivating saga.

UnforI wished I could have rated this book higher but alas, not. First of all, I'm a big fan of Arthurian lore (I remember reading Les Dames du Lac serie at 17 and loving it so so much) and when I read the resume, I was super excited and sold on the idea of discovering a retelling of Camelot. Let's be clear, it's a very loose retelling of Arthur's Legend. In general, I found the story interesting but too predictable and slow (nothing much happen in my opinion).
But my major issues were that the main characters felt a bit too flattunately that was a pass for me...

I adored the first book, and this one was no different. amazing continuation and I cannot wait to see where the story takes me next.

4/5 stars!!

Court of Claws is a dark fantasy romance loosely inspired as a King Arthur retelling with a dash of Fae goodness. It picks up from the cliffhanger we're left with at the end of Queen of Roses with Morgan waking up in a bed that's not hers in an unfamiliar court. She knows that she has to go along with the games in order to return home and Camelot from her evil brother.

If I'm honest, I didn't like this sequel as much a I liked the first book. It wasn't bad by any means, I was just hoping for more. I was hoping to see more growth from Morgan. And they use a miscommunication trope, which makes me cringe, I cant stand it. And the way Morgan reacts to it comes across as incredibly immature/childish.
MMC did everything in his power to help and be supportive and she still hated him. I get her frustration but come on, Give the guy a break, girl.

Around the 60ish% mark I was able to put all that aside and get back into it. The spike kicked in a little and the plot picked up. I plan to still continue the series.

This second book managed to blow its predecessor out of the water I devoured this in one day unable to put it down until I reached the conclusion I was that invested in the outcome here. So after the reveals of book one Morgan now awakens in the court of Umbral Flames and Draven whom she had been gradually learning to trust proves himself much more than she could ever have imagined setting things back between them by a mile, discovering he’s a prince, Fae royalty and also in line to the throne is the least of it he also has claws and horns the surprises just keep on rolling. To protect Morgan from the intrigues of the court and his many enemies he has also named her paramour his consort a pretence she will now need to keep up if she wants to stay safe.

This was fast-paced, bloody and action-packed throughout, we definitely get the romance here that was missing from book one and I absolutely adored Draven he really did come into his own, His steadfastness and endless patience when dealing with Morgan was legendary and he definitely gave off touch her and die vibes. His obvious care for Morgan was apparent in his every move.

Morgan well we get to see more of her origins and though I do like her and she’s definitely an intriguing mix of strengths and flaws I also was frustrated with her many trust issues and sky-high walls. I just didn’t think her attitude at times towards Draven was warranted or even fair she seemed to have such high standards and if you cross her lines she cuts you dead. Her black-and-white approach at times just seemed naive and a tad immature. I recognise that Draven was keeping secrets but were they really that severe or that unforgivable especially for the reasons given, I think not.

With that explosive finish, I’m now eagerly anticipating the final book in this series I’m also hoping that Morgan can behave with some steadfastness and realise that life is shades of grey and sometimes the end justifies the means. I’m anticipating great things to come and also hoping the finale carries the momentum all the way to the finish line. I definitely recommend this series it’s well-written, imaginative and with some fabulous immersive world-building and it’s easily managed to keep my attention throughout. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Court Of Claws. (Blood Of A Fae #2).

After the first book I was very curious about this second book.

In the first book I felt a little sorry for the main character. she got so much misery every time.

I must admit that it took me quite a long time to read this book. each time I put it away and came back to it later. But It worked!

I liked that this book took place in a completely different location than the first book. I found the whole concept of the blood rise super interesting!

I liked the book but I'm not sure if I would read the next part. the ending didn't really appeal to me.

An exciting sequel!! Make sure you read the first novel before the second. I dove right into this after finishing the first and I wish I could read it again for the first time.

This sequel to Briar’s Queen of Roses was just fantastic. Morgan and Draven are everything and following their story has been so exciting. If you love enemies to lovers, magic, mayhem, SPICE, incredible world building and character development, pick this up now. Oh and it’s a *chef’s kiss King Arthur retelling. Thank you so much to #NetGalley and #BriarBoleyn for allowing me a copy to read for an honest review. I cannot wait for book three! It comes out the day after my birthday. Happy Birthday to ME!

Thanks to NetGalley and the Publishers for this ARC.

Having just finished the book moments ago, first thoughts are that I need book 3 pronto. Boleyn does a great job writing an action packed stories that end with you on the edge of your seat…I mean the cliffhangers. The world building was great, the descriptions helped make visualizing this story rather easy—especially because it’s a fae fantasy story containing places and species unique to this universe. The characters are diverse and easy to like. I’m obsessed with Draven and am absolutely gutted every time Morgan thinks he’s lying/faking/being disingenuous. The plot twists are fun and the series has been fun to read too.

Overall I would rate this book a 4.5/5 (rounded up to 5/5). I would recommend this to romantasy fans.

Big thanks to briar boleyn and netgalley for the eARC in exchange for a review.

The second in the series and we've been given some of Morgan's secrets. We've also got some of Draven's secrets exposed as well as tournament to the death for a crown.
Morgan is fairly whiney in this book, whereas the first, she felt more stable, more confident. Maybe the intent of hot/cold personality change was supposed to come from a place of stubbornness, justified by her feelings of being wronged, but it made her less likeable.
It didn't ruin the book, still enjoyed it. Loved the bigger focous on magic, loved (hated) the tragedies, and loved the relationships that came from places of mistrust and misunderstandings.

100% looking for the 3rd book.
4.5
