Essays of what being a woman, how hard it is, what we go through. I've never felt more understood and less lonely.
"menstruating people"..."menstruators"
I'm sorry, do you mean "women"?
Read the introduction. That was unfortunately all I could bear.
And then it is tagged in the Women's Fiction category?! Make it make sense.
(Free ARC from NetGalley and Querencia Press that I chose to review after reading)
A heartwretching, visceral, honest look into the trials, pain, changes the female body goes through told in a wonderful prose. Thank you Netgalley and Querencia Press for access to this wonderful anthology
I think this book was incredible! I love how the true focus of it was to break the silence! I learned that this book originated from a Facebook post where women came together to write this masterpiece.
My favorite poem was "La Mancha En Mi Alma" - Algae. As a Hispanic who went through something similar I saw a lot of pieces of myself reflected in this poem.
I must say the stories did get a bit overwhelming because they only spoke about one main topic so I suggest taking your time with this book so you can absorb and be open to all the stories and experiences shared in it.
A ode to periods and menopause. A love letter to all the changes a women’s body goes through. Made me have a greater appreciation for my body and all it goes through.
