This could definitely be a whole new series, Jane Smith is one fiesty lawyer who never loses a case, but also doesn’t have a a lot of time left to live.
She has taken on a high profile case and her client is very obnoxious, she has an ex cop who is her best friend/investigator and he keeps getting into one mess after another, just like she does.
This story has so many twists and turns, a great friendship, plus all kinds of humor. It was a great story that had me laughing out loud and hoping there will be a 2nd book coming along soon.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this amazing ARC! Loved this story and it was very entertaining 💜💜 #12MONTHSTOLIVE
Of course, 2 great authors got together to write this extremely readable and exciting legal thriller. It’s one of the year’s best. Set in the tony Hamptons and its environs, it bubbles with excitement and twists. Honestly, couldn’t put it down.
Jane Smith, a brilliant lawyer, is defending Rob Jacobson from a multiple murder charge. He is a perfect caricature of rich entitlement. Jane is dealing with personal crises as well.
Her intrepid sidekick is Jimmy Cuniff, a retired police officer. Together, they are a top pair, like Spenser and Hawk.
I hope, for many reasons, that Jane and Jimmy can reappear in more books. This one is a total winner!
Thank you Netgalley for this super read. .
12 Months to Live by Patterson and Lupica is another fast, fun, entertaining read written in the same formula as their other books. Legal wrangling, deception, lust, love, lies, tragedy - and that is all in the first few chapters! Add in dogs, guns plus other surprises and you have an enjoyable evening getting lost in their action-packed world.
Thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for the opportunity to read this ARC.
Even the title of this book is intriguing. That being said, reading with impending doom looming, was difficult. It took away from the story. Written by a favorite author, I could not get past the diagnosis of the main character. Yes, I should have know that from the obvious title. That being said, this is Patterson…one of 5e most talented authors ever…Lupica is also ingenious. This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher and the authors.
Jane Smith is a criminal defense attorney known for her take no prisoners approach. Her current client is almost certainly guilty of at least one murder, but Jane’s job is to get him acquitted. At the same time, she’s fallen in love with a genuinely nice guy and received a death sentence from her doctor. The only question is whether she’ll live long enough to die from natural causes. Patterson and company continue to crank out “popcorn” novels, stories that are quick, mindless fun
