Delighting Her Highland Devil is book seven in Maeve Greyson’s “Time to Love a Highlander” series and I enjoyed the story from beginning to end! This series has included many time traveling adventures with lovable characters and happily ever afters for all the included couples. ❤️ Each story is a standalone romance and are able to be enjoyed in any order. The romance in this story is angst free and goes from the initial meeting to lust-marriage-love rather quickly - usually I need a more fleshed out relationship and romance but the timing works well for this story.

The characters include two women from 2023 -Jovianna Jacobs and her mom Amaranth Jacobs- and Tobias Risk a.k.a. “<i>Diabhal Dubh-Chridhe</i>, the Black-Hearted Devil,” and his fellow highwaymen Cade, Fitch, Donnor, Pag and Silas - the crew who comes across Jovianna & Amaranth just after they “traveled” from 2023 to 1760. The story eventually follows the romance of Tobias and Jovianna, however there is also a romance occurring in the background between Cade and Amaranth.
The plot takes a journey through known historical problems occurring in the highlands after the failed Battle of Culloden in 1746 and the subsequent highland clearances and banishment of highland culture. However the historical aspect doesn’t take over the romance part of the story.

As previously stated I enjoyed the story. I do wish some of the parts had not been so conflict free. I get that the time travel aspect is pretty much a “done deal” aspect of the story so I am glad not a lot of time was spent on that dilemma. I think that expanding on the conflicts included through the story would have added more depth.
