I was approved for this ARC, but the book was archived on NetGalley shortly after so unfortunately I was not able to download or read the book. As such I cannot offer a review at this time!
The cover of this book called to me, and I'm so glad I listened.
The author has woven together a stunning world where the magical and the mundane co-exist and intertwine, with only some lucky mortals being capable of perceiving the magic.
She has created a world fairies and dragons, dryads and naiads, prophecy and promise, friendship and family and I can't say enough good things about it.
It appeals the part of me that is still waiting on my hogwarts letter, still waiting to find an unhatched dragons egg, and still waiting to find out that I'm actually a fairy.
We have:
- Typical teenage boy ignoring warnings and getting into trouble
- Rage towards people who speak down to your family
- Struggling with the concept of being good enough
- Glorious animal companions
- Evil witches, hags, goblins and curses
- Secret rooms
- Willingness to face anything is it means protecting your family
- The reminder that when someone you love, who loves you, has complete faith in you, its a magic all of its own
- Descriptions of books that make me wish I could own them in real life!!!
