Thank you NetGalley and Querencia Press for the chance to read and review GIRL. a chapbook by Robin Williams.

I like poetry and the very simple cover was also appealing. What I also liked were Robin Williams (not to be confused with the actor) put in a lot of emotion in these poems. You can feel the hurt and the rage and desire to be loved. This is a solid collection, especially for bi and ace readers as a reminder that they are enough; that you can be both. I particularly enjoyed "Waiting for God to Answer Me."

I do feel like the collection was missing something, but I'm not sure what.

A short but impactful collection of poems about queerness, gender and religion. A reminder that you are queer enough, even if you don't fit in the "boxes" others expect you to. I liked the variety of formats used for each of the poems. I'd be open to reading more from Williams in the future.

I’m so grateful that NetGalley’s Read Now feature put this chapbook on my radar! Short and impactful, these poems spoke right to my queer soul. I only wish it were longer!

A heartfelt affirmative poem. For every bi and ace out there, this one's for you. It's a nice reminder that you're queer and you're enough 🫶🏽

This was just a beautiful stunning and relevant poem collection about being a woman. Thank you to the publisher for the ARC.

This is a very short and sweet collection of poems. There’s a lot of emotion packed into these poems. It’s really introspective and centered around being queer enough. GIRL. is a great read and I would love to read more from Williams.

A short but thoughtful collection of poems on religion, gender and sexuality. This was a fun, quick read and I’m thankful to the author and the publisher for a chance to read this book on NetGalley.

Thank you to Querencia Press and NetGalley for gifting me this arc in exchange for an honest review.

A delicate look at womanhood, religion, and sexuality, GIRL cements with each and every poem that there is not a clear-cut way to be queer, that being queer lies in accepting yourself and understanding that you are enough. Williams tenderly relates these ideas to their experience with their asexuality and bisexuality, both identities that were erased by both society and themself. These poems in particular struck a chord with me, and I found great comfort in them.

While the writing isn't particularly profound, and none of the ideas presented were things I hadn't thought about before, I (as I'm sure many others will) appreciated the sentiments and the care that was put into this collection. I look forward to seeing what Williams writes in the future.

This book is beautifully written and there is quite enough truth behind those words. I love the way it's written and the feelings behind the poems. If you read the poems, the words talk for themselves. Its beautiful and wholly understandable what the person is going through. A must read!!

I received a free copy of the book and is voluntarily writing a review

The concept of this collection sounded so appealing but unfortunately it wasn’t for me. Overall, these poems felt juvenile. Reminded me a lot of the work of Instagram poets and I’ve never been a fan of that type of poetry. This collection as a whole didn’t work for me but I can see that it would appeal to others.

This is a very honest and vulnerable piece that explores important themes, but not particularly well crafted as a collection of poetry.

GIRL. is a short collection about the authors experience as a ace/bi person. The book feels unfinished and unpolished. The poems were very heartfelt but lacked a deeper emotion to be able to feel complete. Despite all that, Robin Williams has clear potential as a poet and I hope to see more growth in the future.

A short collection of poems on queerness, Williams captured feelings many can relate to and I liked the varying formats of the poem. I don't know if it was a choice or an issue with formatting, but only some poems seemed to have titles. I felt it could be a touch longer, as I had only really 'settled in' to it when it came to an end.

Robin expresses my exact feelings regarding dating and love and relationships as a queer non-binary person. Bisexual: A Blackout Poem was my favourite entry in this collection. Robin's chapbook is deeply relatable in their exploration of gender, sexuality, and dating in the online world.

Fantastic short read that is incredibly relatable and validity to know I’m not alone in the way I feel about myself
