Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

If you enjoyed The Thursday Murder Club this book is similar and you will enjoy this cozy mystery and it’s cast of characters.

Also I did not read the first book in this series but this can be read as a stand alone.

The senior ladies who volunteer at the Dogs Need Nice Homes are on the case again as someone is causing havoc in the beach town of Southborne.
Fiona, Daisy and Partial Sue are the Charity Case Shope Detectives and are extremely entertaining as they solve the arson cases and a murder too!

The mystery kept me guessing and the characters and their antics kept me laughing my sox off! Seaside madness amongst the wealthy and bored when a beach hut is destroyed by arson and the owner dies of its effects. Definitely a laugh a minute!

This is the second book staring Dasiy, Sue and Fiona. Who are investigating crimes and murders in this little English town. This is a new season and a new murder for them to investigate. I love these ladies and these books are so good! I completely lose sense of time while I'm reading them.
I just reviewed THE BEACH HUT MURDERS by Peter Boland. #THEBEACHHUTMURDERS #NetGalley

"The Beach Hut Murders" by Peter Boland, the second book in The Charity Shop Detective Agency series, presents a delightful and entertaining cozy murder mystery set in the charming coastal town of Southbourne. Fiona, Daisy, and Sue, the retired amateur sleuths who also run a charity shop, are back to solve another murder, and their camaraderie and wit make for an enjoyable read.

This is a very light read, quite enjoyable and amusing. While the mystery itself may not be the most difficult to figure out, the appeal of this cozy myster lies more in the characters and their dynamics.

The setting of the UK coast also adds to the appeal of the story. There are a few plot contrivances that some people may struggle to look past but, despite these flaws, "The Beach Hut Murders" should appeal to any fans of cozy mysterues.

The comparisons to the Thursday Murder Club are obvious and you could say potentially unfair, but it has its unique charms perfect for a beach reading escape while not quite reaching the heights of the Thursday Murder books.
If you're all up to date with the Richard Osmond series and in the mood for more cozy murder mysteries, with witty amateur detectives, and a visit to the English beachfront, give "The Beach Hut Murders" a try.

Note: A special thanks to NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Charity Shop Detectives are back and ready to solve another murder!!

The Charity Shop Detectives consist of Fiona, Daisy, and Partial Sue. They run a charity shop and are amateur sleuths in their spare time. And they’re asked for their help when a man dies in a beach hut fire. And none of them can resist a mystery to solve.

This is fast becoming one of my favourite cosy crime series. I love the way the characters gel together, even when they’re not meant to. I love the banter with their fellow charity shop snob, Sophie. The book contains a lot of wit, and humour, and made this a light hearted read, which was just excellent. The author writes the stories so well that there isn’t any dull places in the book, there’s always something going on, surprisingly a whole host of twists and turns.
This is another great read from this author and highly recommended.

Fiona working at the charity shop had catogrized those that came in.
The woman outside hesitating to bring in the box was a "sorrowful donor"
For Fiona , Sue and Daisy they keep their minds busy with being amateur
detectives to solve crimes. These elderly three are witty and charming
A delightful cozy mystery with a good flowing plot, and delightful characters
Given arc by Net Galley and Joffee for my voluntary review.

While I didn't know and haven't read book one in this series, I really enjoyed "The Beach Hut Murders". Will read more!

Second book in the Thursday Murder Club is a delightful fun read. You will fall in love with the elderly detectives Fiona, Sue and Daisy. They are such interesting characters. A good story plot. A mystery that's not too complicated just cozy! Thanks #Netgalley and #JoffeBooks for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

A wonderfully written page turner that was very difficult to put down.

We're back with the ladies of Dogs Need Nice Homes for another head scratching crime that needs solving. A fire at luxury beach huts results in the death of a man. Was it an accident, or murder? Our lovely amateur detectives are brought on to investigate, riding high from their success in the first book.

I love the truly amateur nature of the detectives. So often in these kinds of books the characters are naturally excellent at solving crimes despite having never done it before. Not so with these ladies. They make all of the mistakes any of us would make if we went from reading crime books to trying to solve them. The pacing of this book was brilliant, never a dull second and so hard to put down. The rivalry with the Cat Alliance charity shop across the road is also very funny.

I would suggest reading the first one first, but it's not a necessity. Each of the books stands on their own so you won't spoil the first one if you read this first.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC

Oh how I loved catching up with these ladies, beautifully written characters and the addition of Bitsy is the character you didn’t know this series needed. Ingenious plot and lots of real life detail, for instance I couldn’t resist googling the polar bear (no spoilers). Partial Sue, the Wicker Man, Daisy’s malapropisms are all perfect. Please can the author write nice and quickly so I don’t have to wait long for the next one.

This book is for fans of "Thursday Murder Club," "Marlow Murder Club" and "Peg and Rose." Elder people solving crimes. This is the second book in the series. The first one is called "The Charity Shop Detective Agency" and was equally as fabulous. While the mystery wasn't necessarily the hardest to figure out, a cozy mystery (IMO) is less about the mystery and more about the cast of characters. These women are equal parts funny, witty and I hope to have these kind of friends when I am their age.

If you are like me, you were utterly charmed by the Thursday Murder Club. Great news! There are some other retirees on the prowl solving murders and volunteering in their free time! Meet Fiona, with her colleagues Partial Sue and Daisy she volunteers at the local charity shop but also does some detecting on the side. While this is book two, I had no problems catching up and immersing myself in a greatly entertaining cozy murder case. (and I will be sure to return to book 1, The Charity Shop Detective Agency immediately - kindle unlimited !!!).

This case has everything you want - believable detectives, annoying NIMBY neighbors and of course, a catty pseudo friend (which I thought was a trope until my mother told me stories about her own retirement village in Florida). I loved every minute of it and am counting the days to the next Boland book and my own retirement so I can join them! If you like cozy murders mysteries, witty amateur detectives or just want to visit an English beachfront for a bit of vacay, The Beach Hut Murders is for you!

Genuine Delight..
Summer is about to arrive in Southbourne - but with it comes murder most foul. Who on earth would want to kill an elderly gentleman, burning down his beach hut? Pressure mounts as more bizarre events unfold. Fiona, Sue and Daisy from the local Dogs Need Nice Homes charity shop are on the case - with often unexpected results. A rather glorious cosy mystery with all of the right ingredients in all of the right places. Deftly drawn, often eccentric and endearing characters populate a pacy and humorous plot peppered with some nicely placed red herrings and leading to a, perhaps, unexpected denouement. Wholly enjoyable and entertaining. Following the first in the series, this reader was hoping for more to come from this enigmatic trio, so this was a genuine delight.

I'm giving it four stars for the last few chapters, mostly. This book has a lot going on and had many twists. Three amateur investigators sticking their nose into small town matters... made it feel like The Golden Girls meets Murder She Wrote.

While I felt like some of the details were obvious or unnecessary, the story in itself was thorough. I don't quite understand the bits about the cake in the thrift shop. Maybe it's a cultural thing? It was perfect for what I wanted it for, though - a quick summer read. The epilogue made me interested in the sequel, as it had more sinister hues of a psychological thriller (which I prefer), although I don't feel like that's the way that this author writes.

Overall, if you're looking for a quick read, set in a seaside English town, and are interested in classic whodunit stories, this one is for you.

Thank you NetGalley for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

A cosy murder mystery. It's the second book featuring the charity shop detective agency, I've not read the first but I plan to as this is a nice relaxing read.

Featuring 3 ladies who run a charity shop and solve the latest murder that has happened in one of the beach huts in their little seaside town.

They go from suspect to suspect, interrogating each one to find out the information they need, coming unstuck but somehow gleaming some all important clues to lead them to the next suspect. Which means, at one point or another, they end up suspecting pretty much everyone in the book.

It's not a suspenseful thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat to find out what's going to happen next, but it's a fun read and even though I thought parts of it were pretty obvious, there was enough to keep me guessing. I enjoyed it and will read more from this author.

Thank you Netgalley and Joffe books for the ARC.

The Beach Hut Murders in the second book in The Charity Shop Detective Agency series.

The three retired amateur sleuths are delightful and together make for a team of ladies with whom I’d love to spend time chatting with while browsing their charity shop, Dogs Need Nice Homes, in the coastal town of Southbourne.

Along the coast there is a lovely and expensive neighborhood of beach huts. When one of beach huts is set on fire with its owner asleep one night, the ladies get asked to investigate.

The setting of this series is wonderful and has me wishing for a trip to the UK coast. The ladies are all different and wonderful. Although I figured out a majority of the mystery quickly, it had some twists and turns and it was a fun read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy.

3.5 stars.

I have read the first book in the series, and that had made me interested in what this one would be like. I find the author has tried to imitate the Richard Osmon series more, but it doesn’t really work, and sadly detracts from what made this series good initially. The mystery element wasn’t too hard to work out; I’d already figured out the how and part of the whom within the first quarter of the book, which made it a very long story of awaiting the main characters figuring it out. There was lots of needless waffle in this book too which soon for tiresome, for example all the discussions of cake or with wicker man. I must admit to beginning to scan read from 1/3 into the book when I was getting bored and was just waiting for the main characters to figure out what I’d already worked out. I wouldn’t recommend this book, but if you see it in the library and have time to spare, why not give it a try

The Beach Hut Murders is in desperate need of a ruthless editor. At 400 plus pages, it is way too long in the tooth for a cozy. Example: at one point one of the women rides her bike to the lighthouse to question the occupants which is 20 useless as this does not advance the story. Author: not every word is golden; chuck it and save for a short story. This reader also found it beyond belief that luxury cabins would not have an attached loo. There is little that makes these female characters stand out nor explain why they are asked to investigate. The mist intriguing character is the victim..
I really wanted to like this book as I'm a big fan of the Thursday Murder Club series. The blurb describes this as similar read.but it is not. Three stars for possibilities if properly edited.
Thank you netgalley for the ARC.

I had seen this compared to Richards Osmans Thursday murder club books, whilst this may qualify as “cosy” crime it’s far too mundane to be in the same conversation as TMC books
