Description:
Olive Maxwell much prefers teaching about the Supernatural world to taking part in it and leaves the magical shenanigans to her two sisters. After assigning her college students a project designed to nudge them outside their comfort zones, Olive realizes she’s never once stepped a toe out of her own . . . and it’s about time that changed. Her first trip into the unknown? Moving in with her longtime crush and friend . . . tattooed, motorcycle-riding, and pleasantly pierced Baxter Donovan.
Baxter Donovan, Guardian Angel not-so-extraordinaire, has acquired so many black marks on his record it looks like a Scantron test. He’s been given one last chance to keep his Guardian wings—a high-profile Assignment he knows all too well. Olive is usually as low-risk as it gets. Hell, she wrote the safety manual. But something landed her on the Guardian Angel Affairs radar, and he guesses it has something to do with the heart-pounding stunts she’s determined to check off her Dare I Docket list. Keeping Olive out of trouble is about to be his toughest Assignment. He’s at real risk of shattering the only Guardian Angel code of conduct rule he’s yet to break: Don’t fall in love with your Assignment. And he isn’t so sure that’s a bad thing.
If love doesn’t play by the rules, why should they?
I absolutely LOVE this series and all the characters. This book, the third in the series, was about Olive -the youngest Maxwell sister and her guardian angel, Baxter. As a Catholic I believe in guardian angels, so this storyline was especially interesting to me. Is it possible for an angel to fall in love? This book had me believing so and rooting for him. Spicy and sweet!! Highly recommended especially if you love witchy romances with a supernatural element.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for the chance to read this book for a honest review. All thoughts are my own.

I loved the first two books in this series Not the Witch You Wed and Not Your Ex's Hexes. They were pure magic! I almost did a back flip when I saw April Asher had a new book coming out in the series. I mean the first two books were fabulous. I so wanted to love this one. I thought I would, sadly this was my least favorite book out of the three. It is still a good book and a worthwhile read, but it failed to cast a spell on me in the same way the first two books in the series did. We can't love them all, but I did like this one!
Olive Maxwell prefers teaching about the supernatural world rather than participating in it. After giving her students an assignment, which entails stepping out of their comfort zone, she decides to do that same and makes a list of things that will take her out of her comfort zone.
Bax Donovan is a guardian angel who has a not-so-great record. After inviting Olive to be his roommate, he is assigned to be Olive's guardian angel. Keeping Olive out of trouble becomes his priority.
So, I say it every time it is all about the journey and this was an enjoyable one. I enjoyed how the characters complimented each other. Opposites do, as they say, attract. I enjoyed Bax's personality. He is social, witty, and handsome to boot. He is a little bit of a bad boy who has broken a few rules, but his heart is in the right place. Olive plays it safe; she likes to sit back and watch things happen. They play off each other nicely.
This book felt a little slower than the first two books. For me, it was lacking in drama. Yes, this book does have some drama, but it didn't feel as dramatic as the drama in the other books (I hope that makes sense). The other two also have a sense of danger which this book did not have. But I enjoyed that the gang was back. It was nice seeing Olive's sisters and the men in their lives. They have a great group of friends who tease and joke but also care and have each other’s backs.
I put this in my liked didn't love category. But one thing I do like about this series is that the characters are dealing with real life issues even if they are supernatural. In this book it was trying new things, pushing yourself and being more confident. Plus, there is romance and steamy scenes.
I enjoy how April Asher writes. I care about her likeable and charming characters and their plight. I can't help but root for them. Every one of her main characters has put a smile on my face.
A charming supernatural romance.

Not your crush’s cauldron is a fun conclusion to the supernatural triad. Following the last of the Maxwell sisters, this book gives a fun twist on a bucket list. I love a roommates to lovers trope, however, this book adds in a few other situations that make it more than just that. While it wasn’t my favorite Maxwell Sister book, I did still enjoy reading it, and honestly hope to see more of the Maxwells, and maybe Harper too

3.5 Stars
Things I loved about this book:
•Bax was completely gone for Olive
•It was really fun to see the prior couples in this book, and we kind of get a vibe that there might be a fourth book??
• Found Family is a huge proponent in this book and series, finding a partner that not only loves you but supports you in all things
•All about making what makes you happy and priority!
Things I personally struggled with:
•Olive was clueless and it almost got to be obnoxious
•Bax, a literal Angel, would constantly call Olive Angel. This became confusing for me as a reader.
Will I read the next book, absolutely!

Loved this!
It was great to go back into this world. I enjoy all the supernatural creatures plus magic!
This time around we focus on the youngest sister Olive. I connected with her a lot since I too need to push myself out of my comfort zones every now and then. Olive’s personal journey was great to read about. She’s also a fun character. Bax was a nice romantic lead. His journey is interesting but perhaps a bit overshadowed by Olive’s. I did like them together and thought they had good chemistry. The slow burn was definitely worth the wait.
Overall a fun witchy time.

Olive Maxwell, professor of Supernatural Studies assigns her students to make a list of ten things
that will make them step out of their comfort zones. Olivia realizes she has always played it safe a
nd decides that she will also complete the assignnment she gave her students. To keep her safe,
she is assigned with her own Guardian Angel, Bax Donovan, who also happens to be her roommate.
As Olive explores leaving her comfort zone, Bax is dealing with family expectations and his spotty
track record. Will both find the courage to embrace life and go after what they really want?

Another amazingly sexy witchy read. This is a series that I know I can turn to for a good time. I love the themes, the modern setting, the empowered women, and cinnamon roll men. The writing is fast paced, witty, and the character building is top tier for the genre and books you could comp to it. I'll forever be an April Asher fan.

DNF @43%
I really tried to like this one, but the writing felt almost childish. At 43% I really had no investment in either main character and the internal monologue of these two 30+ adults just felt so immature that I couldn’t keep going.
Thank you Netgalley and St Martin’s Griffin for providing this ARC to me.

I absolutely love this series so much.
Olive and Bax’s story did not disappoint. I loved how their friendship turned into something more. I love how Bax was protective of her but also let her stand up on her own.
The romance was top notched. Their chemistry was fire!
The ending felt perfect to me.

4.5 stars, really the only thing this book left me yearning for was a little more spice. The first 2 books had excellent spice but this one just fell a little flat for me. Overall it was very cute, funny, and a very good rom-com. I loved Bax and Olive together from the very beginning and the way Bax calls her “angel” had my heart fluttering every time. I was ecstatic to get an ARC copy of this book and aside from a little more spice I am not disappointed!
I received an advance review copy but this review is my own honest opinions.

Not Your Crush's Cauldron is a sweet, lighthearted supernatural romance and the 3rd book in the Supernatural Singles series.
The story follows Olive, the 3rd Maxwell sister, as she get her HEA in this Friends To Lovers tale.
Olive and Bax were great together and as they tried to push the boundaries of their comfort zone, we got romance, steam, great banter, and a bad boy with a soft, artistic side who made me swoon with how he treated Olive.
The story was well written, emotional yet fun and I would recommend it to romance lovers.
Thank you to NetGalley, and April Asher for the ARC.

Having read both of the previous books in the series, I was a tad nervous for this one. I adored the first book. I giggled and squealed and finished the book in about 24 hours, but the second one, while still enjoyable, didn't give me the same feels. For that reason alone, I was nervous about jumping into this one, but it was delightful. The writing once again made me feel like I was instantly part of the friend group and experiencing everything with the characters, and I was so attached it wasn't even funny. I really should have been doing productive adulty things, but I ended up reading this in about three days, shirking my work and responsibilities to finish. A great third installment, and I'm extremely excited for the fourth.

The final Maxwell sister’s time has come! I was looking forward to reading Olive and Bax’s romance. Bax is a dreamy guardian angel who isn’t allowed to have a personal connection with his protectee- who just so happens to be Olive. Bound to secrecy, Bax isn’t sure why his crush has been placed under his protection. As Olive tries to break out of her comfort zone by making a list of activities she wants to try, Bax and Olive grow closer. Will they maintain their connection when Bax's assignment ends?
Olive and Bax have a sweet romance! I liked the witch x angel pairing and how they worked through the issues that came up. Olive learns to become more confident in herself and stand up for what she wants. At the same time, Bax learns to define meaning in his own life even when his family has strict expectations. I enjoyed seeing the other sisters and the magical forces that guide them- their grandma is a force of nature. Readers who enjoy magical families, lighthearted fun, and sweet romance should check out this series.
Thank you to April Asher, St. Martin’s Griffin, and Netgalley for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
For publisher: My review will be posted on Instagram, Goodreads, Amazon, Storygraph, and Barnes & Noble etc

This was such a cute witchy romance! I started this series from the 3rd book, and would say it was relatively easy to follow along! I enjoyed getting to see Olive grow a bit of a backbone and fell in love with Bax in all his artsy, badboy nature! I always enjoy the roommates trope, and banter is a huge selling point for me. I never thought i'd need a Angel x Witch book until I read this one but, this pairing did not dissappoint. Although I didnt love Bax's nickname for Olive being angel and wish we'd seen a bit more of the magic aspect overall I can't wait to start this series from the beginning in October! Thanks to St. Martins Press and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book early as an ARC!

These witchy romcoms are adorable and fun. Great pallet cleansers for reading in-between fantasies and other hard core stories. I loved the romance in this one and the characters. It was beyond cute and I want more.

This book was adorable! I requested it without realizing it was part of a series, but it worked extremely well as a standalone. I loved all of the quirky characters, and it was amusing and cheesy in all the best ways. The ending was heartwarming and sappy in a hallmark sort of way. I am really hoping that my girl Harper gets her own book next!

I received a book that I was excited to read, but I soon realized that it was the third book in a series. I had not read the previous two books, and I was lost by the end of the first page. Although each book in this series focuses on a different couple, the stories are all interconnected. Therefore, I decided to read the first two books before continuing with the third one.
After reading all three books, I have grown to love the Maxwell sisters. They have an unbreakable bond with each other and their friend group. Bax and Olive's story was destined to be told noticeably from book one, and I am glad I finally got to read it. If you've read the other two books in the supernatural Singles series, you will find this one to be very similar. The sisters all have a similar voice, and likewise, the males all have a similar inner dialogue. However, they are all from different species of supernatural. Each character has their struggles, and they spend the book overcoming obstacles together. The book is filled with witty dialogue, akin to the Buffyverse, and a few steamy scenes to enjoy. If you enjoyed the first two books, you will definitely love this one.
Now, I am excited to read Harper and Adrian's story (unsure if this is in the works but I hope it is!). Although the Maxwells are great, I am particularly interested in Harper's story. She is the thread that I want to know more about. Overall, Asher has delivered everything that you would expect from a magical rom-com. The final Maxwell sister finds her true love, the Prima finally takes her seat, and these girls have the sassiest of grandmas. Give this book a read, and you won't regret it.

Another great story in this series! Olive and Bax were everything I hoped they would be. I love that he fell so hard and fast for her and that he helped her stretch her self out of her comfort zone. I really hope Harper gets a book and this is not the end of this group of friends.

For a series about a trio of sisters who are witches, I was somewhat perplexed that Olive doesn’t perform any magic until about 62% into the book. Donovan on the other hand is a guardian angel whose paranormal problems lay at the forefront of the story. Also what I find perplexing is Donovan’s nickname for Olive, which is angel. Angel, as in the species in which he is. Could you imagine looking at your significant other and calling them “human?”. It would be like Bella calld Jacob “wolfie.” In any other relationship I would have swooned at the moment this particular nickname was delivered but here it felt like a really odd choice.
Those are only small things though. The sexual tension in the relationship arrives pretty quickly in the book and what follows is mostly lighthearted and just good ol’ plain fun amongst old favourites from the previous books in the series. Both are easy to love characters whose b-stories are almost as interesting as the main romantic storyline.
Asher’s books just keep getting better and better and here’s to hoping the real star of the show, Harper, gets her own story!
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press for providing an advanced reading copy through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

A perfect follow-up to a series about bright vibrant witches who take on the world with a storm. I enjoyed the romance between the two leads who seemed to perfectly balance each out out and help each other grow. I also really liked Olive's character and how she developed a shiny backbone as the series went on. I found myself unable to put this book down and read it all in one day. The romance was my favorite part and I couldn't help but swoon at how cute they were together! The chapter titles were just as witty as the book itself!
