I couldn’t put this book down. Not Your Crush’s Cauldron is the third book in the Supernatural Singles series. I have read all three books in the series and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. This book follows Olive Maxwell the youngest of the Maxwell triplets and Bax Donnovan. This book is released February 13, 2024. Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and April Asher for an opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.

I loved this third installation of the Supernatural Singles series.

Olive is my favorite triplet and the one I connected with the most in the previous stories about her sisters. I was so glad that she got her own love story and, boy, did it deliver.

The super sexy piercings and STEAMY love scenes with Bax are worth the wait.

I enjoyed following Olive on all of her adventures to push herself out of her comfort zone. There were so many daring feats, from Dirty Dancing to aerial acrobatics.

Now the question is, will the series end with the triplets or will Harper be the lead in the next book in the series?

Overall this book is super cute, silly, and full of kick-your-feet-up and giggle moments. The stoic guardian angel and bookish Professor finally have their forced proximity face off. Incredibly cute, this fits the vibes of the rest of the series, and is a great addition. While technically this is a stand-alone, I wouldn't read it as such as it will be less impactful. At least one of the other books would be ideal. Not required, however it does make Olive and Bax’s story more sweet to witness and you just LOVE them from the start with that background. This installment had less witch magic but more “angel sightings” so I was okay with that! It definitely let this book feel like its own. I loved the additional underlying message of stepping out of your comfort zone and the joys and growth that can give. This is a universal message that complements the romance well.

Stand-out thoughts: Bax calling Olive “angel”. I nearly died, it was absolutely perfect! On page 10 when the nickname drop happens I knew I was hooked!

I feel that the tone of the book is light and a bit silly with crazy pop culture references. In my opinion, it can't be taken too seriously as it isn't that kind of book. Those looking for a gritty paranormal romance need to look elsewhere. This series is by far my favorite in the low fantasy paranormal romance group and I think Not Your Crush’s Cauldron lives up to what the series has done so far. I will definitely be purchasing it in print to add to the rest of the series. In the meantime where can I get my own alpha-ish guardian angel?

Olive Maxwell prefers teaching about the supernatural world than participating in magical shenanigans. But after assigning her students to get out of their comfort zone, she realizes that she, too, has to get out of her comfort zone. And it starts with moving in with a certain hot Guardian Angel-Bax Donovan.

Guardian Angel Bax Donovan has acquired so many black marks on his records, its starting to look like a scantron sheet. He has one last chance to keep his wings-that is guarding a certain Maxwell sister. Keeping Olive out of trouble may be his toughest assignment, especially when there's not denying his attraction to her.

Personally, I'm a sucker for many tropes and friends/roomies to lovers is one of them. The sexual and romantic tension between Olive and Bax has been brewing since she moved in with him. Well, perhaps even before they became roomies. Being in each others close proximity helped their relationship progress. I found Olive relatable. Stepping out of your comfort zone can be a challenge but with a determined mindset and supportive friends it can be done.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book. Recommended to those looking for a supernatural with a dash of spice romance!

Not Your Crush's Cauldron is the third book in the Supernaturals Singles series and follows the Maxwell triplets in all their magical mishaps in finding love.

Not Your Crush’s Cauldron follows the youngest witchy triplet, Olive, as she takes a step out of her comfort zone to walk on the wild-ish side. This sparks an alert that sets her up with her very own Guardian Angel…who just happens to be her friend and secret crush….and her new roommate.

It’s a 'friends to lovers', 'forced proximity', 'bad boy/book nerd', 'fated mates' rom-com that is super sweet with lots of spice and witty banter. These books are fun, quick paced, feel good stories and I love the duel POV's.

Not Your Crush's Cauldron is due to come out Feb 13th.

I absolutely loved this. The Supernatural Singles series is full of romance, emotion, and enough laughs to break up some of the tension. This book follows Olive, the youngest of the triplets, and Bax, a guardian angel on thin ice. When they move in together, their worlds are flipped upside down. Olive’s Dare I Docket project for work, and Bax’s guardian angel duties bring them much closer than they would’ve imagined. But, after spending time together, sparks fly, literally in Olive’s case. But, with Bax’s job comes keeping secrets, and, unintentionally, issues between the pair. This book is a friends-to-lovers, forced proximity, and a great addition to the series.

Well, hex me! This witchy rom-com lives up to the hype (that I created in my head since I’ve been waiting for this book since I finished the second in the series) and can easily be read as a stand alone. I love the Maxwell sisters and Olive and Bax’s story may have been my favorite. Well written, plenty of sexy tension, and authentic emotion that are characteristic of Asher’s writing.

I received an ARC courtesy of the publisher and NetGalley. The opinions are my own.

𝘕𝘰𝘵 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘊𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘩'𝘴 𝘊𝘢𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘯 is the third installment in the 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦𝘴 series and follows the youngest Maxwell triplet, Olive as she navigates being a witch, a college professor, and her growing feelings towards her friend-turned-roommate, Bax. After assigning her students a big project which asks them to go out of their comfort zones, Olive soon realizes that she can't ask this of her students if she's not willing to do it herself. So begins her Dare I Docket, a list of things outside of her own, very small, comfort zone.

Guardian angel, Bax, is in trouble at work again. There are three rules to being a guardian angel:

1. Don't tell your assignment you're their guardian angel.
2. Don't get your assignment killed.
3. Don't fall in love with your assignment.

Unfortunately, Bax has broken rules one and two and is on thin ice with management. He's given a special last-chance assignment. But this new assignment turns out to be Olive, whom he also has growing feelings for. Will he be able to keep himself from breaking the third and final rule?

I adore the first two books in this series and 𝘕𝘰𝘵 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘊𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘩'𝘴 𝘊𝘢𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘯 is no exception. Like her sisters, Olive is relatable and likable, but in her own way. And like the other main men in this series, Bax is just as delicious, flawed, and heroic. The pining, angst, and spice kept me hooked! And I loved that their relationship was built on a foundation of friendship.

While this one centers around Olive and Bax, you still see the other beloved characters introduced in the previous books. Now I would like a Harper book, please, and thank you!

I do love the idea of the 'straight laced rule follower' falling in love with the 'rebel'. But I do think in this one, I don't fully get the rules of being an angel? So I don't really feel the tension or the issue because I don't understand the structure and why this is a big deal.

Harper's book now, please and thank you. And maybe Gage??

I loved this! Another great book in the Supernatural Singles series. This book was very spicy and so much fun! I'm happy we got to learn more about Bax in this one. I really loved following Olive on her journey to step outside of her comfort zone. This story did not disappoint!
I definitely recommend this series if you like spicy romance with a supernatural twist.

This book was everything I love about this series. The Maxwell sisters are awesome. This book was fun, entertaining, and a bit spicy. Bax is an amazing MMC. I could really level with Olive as a I am a teacher myself. Catching up with all three sisters and their significant others through a series is always an added bonus.

After loving Not Your Exe's hexes, I really expected to love this one. But, for some reason, I didn't. I found myself not wanting to read because it would mean I would be reading this. I just found the main relationship to be cringy and I didn't really like either of the characters on their own. I wanted to love this one, but sadly, I didn't.

I love this series, and this book was no exception! I absolutely loved the banter between Bax and Olive, and I thought their relationship was so much fun! I did find that I was missing chemistry and wanted a little more spark between them, though.
I really enjoyed Olive’s character growth - I thought it was done really well, while still being really authentic to who she’s been throughout the series!

If you’ve liked the previous books in this series, I think you’ll love this one! If you haven’t read the previous books in the Supernatural Singles series, I don’t think you would have any problems reading this one as a standalone, but I would still recommend picking up the previous books!

I love a good friends to lovers story, and this was so wonderful. Bax and Olive secretly crushing on each other gave all the warm and fuzzies as they flirted their way through their roommateship. I loved that we got to see the triplets mingling together and their lives all post-love.

Now…Harp and Adrian next?

I adore this series! I've been addicted to the sister and their love stories. Olive is the third sister, and we've seen the writing on the wall within the other two levels.

Olive has finally found a roommate that doesn't mean she has to sleep in her office, and with the option for a grant that will help her department up for grabs, Olive needs all the sleep she can get.

Bax has had feelings for Olive for a long time, and when she needed help, he couldn't help but assist, although he could never play on her feelings.

Olive decides that she will complete a list of things that scare her along with her class - this gets her on the guardian angel list, which means there's a conflict of interest for Bax.

I loved this love story of friendship, betrayal and love. I adored Olive and Bax, who clearly has daddy issues and is madly in love with Olive.

The things he does to help her are swoony as hell.

I adored the whole thing, as per usual.

As one of my most anticipated books for 2024, getting an ARC of this from NetGalley and St. Martins Press felt like Christmas came early!!!

No spoilers, but this book contained several things that I love in books! April Asher is a master storyteller and the best at writing witty banter for her characters. Not to mention the spicy scenes that are luscious! Although this is marketed as the finale, I am hoping and praying we get more in this world.

loved seeing the sister's again. this time olive and bax as roommates that turn to something else. I loved their romance and her doing things out of her comfort zone and bax being there for her and finding a spot in their lives for each other. I would love to see harper have a romance too with adrian. Loved seeing the sister's all together for the big event and the men there too.

This series is pure magic! I got hooked on this series after reading book two, Not Your Exes Hexes, and I have been emotionally involved ever since. Not Your Cauldron’s Crushes is the story of the third Maxwell triplet and her guardian angel roommate Bax. Olive was sweet and endearing as a character but underneath the surface she was searching for more out of life and found it by completing the same project she has assigned her students, the dare I docket, choosing activities to complete that interest, challenge and change her. Bax comes along for the ride to ensure she is being safe but also because he can’t quite seem to stay away. He grows a lot in this story as well by confronting what everyone expects of him versus what he wants for himself by pushing himself out of his comfort zone as well. This is a beautifully written book with great banter, awesome secondary characters that carry over from the other books it the series and some serious steam. I was rooting for Olly and Bax from the beginning and loved reading their story.

There is something so addictive about the Supernatural Singles series! The characters are so engaging, the plots are so funny, and the world is so magical! I love that each story centers around one of the triplets learning to follow their heart and trust their gut! This story focuses on Olive, the final triplet witch, and her romance with her new roommate and long-time friend, Bax. The tension in this book was incredible, and I loved how they genuinely cared about each other, even before they admitted that they had feelings. I honestly don't know why they hadn't gotten together earlier, but I loved the pining. I love this series and really hope that there are more books coming. Hopefully, Harper (as an honorary sister) gets her own book! There is too much tension between her and Adrian for it not to go anywhere!
