I found this book to be such a fun listen as it was a twisty thriller that kept me coming back for more. The characters were a bit difficult to tell apart at the beginning, but at the end, I felt like I knew each of them deeply and their motivations as well. The narrators did a great job helping to distinguish the different characters too. I have to say that I think Clio ended up being my favorite because she had the best character arc. There were times with it seemed to drag somewhat, but then it definitely picked up at the end. I found the twist at the end to be shocking, I certainly never saw it coming, and I loved it! This is the first Alice Feeney book that I have read, but it will definitely not be the last.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an opportunity to listen to this fantastic audiobook. All opinions within this review are my own.

At first I was really confused by the character POV change with every chapter. It was really hard for me to keep them sorted out in the beginning. The more I got into the story, the easier it naturally became, and I did grow to enjoy the story and the web that Alice Feeney so enjoys weaving. All in all I would recommend if you don’t mind multiple POV books with a POV change every chapter.

I appreciated the opportunity to listen to this eALC — thank you to Alice Feeney and Met Galley.

Another Feeney winner! I really enjoyed Good Bad Girl. This starts out as a slow burn domestic thriller but you can never quite tell where Feeney is going and that keeps things interesting from beginning to end.

Alice Feeney is my go to author for a good psychological thriller. She is so great at making you really not trust anyone.

I was so excited to receive an ARC audio of her latest, Good Bad Girl, thanks to Netgalley and MacMillion Audio.

Sadly, this was not my favorite in her line of work but I didn’t hate it. It kept my interest for the most part, but I felt like at about the half way point I was ready for it to just wrap up. It just didn’t grab me. Maybe it was the multiple viewpoints (I had a hard time distinguishing them with the narration)? Maybe it was because it was more of a domestic suspense vs a thriller (which is what I was expecting). Maybe it was because the pace felt a little too slow for my liking?

Overall, I love this authors work, but just didn’t find this one as thrilling as her previous works.

While I think the meat and potatoes of this book were just fine, I’m torn on the twists. Some I found very predictable but others got me! Overall not my favorite Alice Feeny title, but glad I listened to it as I enjoyed it!

All my friends who enjoy this author will be excited to read this one. Set over Mother’s Day, this novel leads us to question what does it take to be a mother. Enjoyed how the layers connected even if for a minute it was confusing, which I have learned is part of the charm of Feeney novels. Grab this one for a weekend of reading. #NetGalley

What a very cool ending!

Unfortunately, it took me *days* to get through this book. And I almost DNF'd it.

I think this complicated, character-driven story--and the interesting way it's narrated--is likely best consumed in print. I rewound chapters multiple times a sitting just trying to keep track of who was who. The narrators sounded very similar, so each character wasn't well differentiated.

That said, the mystery was wrapped up in an unusual way. And I love it when the ending surprises me!

Special thanks for an advanced listener copy via the NetGalley app. This book is available now!

Three suspects, two murders, one victim, and a twenty year old kidnapping. Told from the perspectives of Patience, Clio, Frankie, and Edith, this was a lot to keep up with. But the narrators did a wonderful job. I would say this was a slow burn but Alice Feeney's writing always seems to draw me in. The character developments where once again phenomenal and I felt like by the end I knew everyone so well. Even though this was slow at times I couldn't stop listening and had to know what happened. This to me was more of a drama than an actual thriller but there was still some suspense and of course many twists and turns. Once again the ending got me and I didn't see it coming!

Thank you to NetGalley and Alice Feeney for allowing me to listen to an ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Thank you NetGalley for providing me an early audio copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I have to say that this was interesting, but it was a drag!

The last twist, was just out of nowhere! I don’t think it was the way that anyone would have expected it to go.

"Good Bad Girl" by Alice Feeney was an audiobook experience I won't soon forget. As my first foray into the world of Alice Feeney's thrillers, it left an indelible impression and has secured a spot as one of my top thriller picks for the year. The narration by Katherine Press and Stephanie Racine added to my enjoyment of this title and allowed me to easily follow all the twists and turns.

Feeney's storytelling is undeniable, and "Good Bad Girl" showcases her ability to weave a web of suspense and intrigue that's impossible to escape from. From the moment I pressed play, I was transported into a world where nothing is as it seems, and trust is a rare commodity.

What struck me most about this book was Feeney's talent for crafting flawed and multifaceted characters. Her exploration of their complex psyches added layers of depth to the story, making it all the more gripping and unsettling. The audiobook's pacing was spot on and kept me actively binging each morsel of the story.

"Good Bad Girl" is a rollercoaster ride of emotions and suspense, and it left me eagerly craving more of Alice Feeney's work. I'm now a devoted fan and can't wait to dive into more of her work.

Thanks to Macmillan Audio for a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

GOOD BAD GIRL review

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

🔻I was sooooo excited for this novel! Alice Feeney is one of my favorite thriller authors so GOOD BAD GIRL was at the top of my tbr this fall! The story hooked me from the very beginning, but I felt like the second half fell a bit flat.

🔻Here’s a summary of the plot:👇
Two decades ago, a baby was kidnapped from a grocery store. Now, someone has been murdered in a nursing home. How are these two crimes, which happened 20 years apart, connected?

🔻This book started off with a bang and I was so invested in the story after just the first few chapters! As per usual with Feeney’s books, I was expecting the second half to be even crazier and twistier. Unfortunately the back half of this book was a bit dull imo. It didn’t feel like a thriller and was more of a mother/daughter drama with some police procedural thrown in. I was expecting a crazy/shocking ending but it didn’t really happen. I still enjoyed how this book wrapped up and I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a family drama! Just don’t go in expecting a thriller. 🤪

🔻Thanks @macmillan.audio and @netgalley for my copy of this one!

While the book may seem confusing for most of the time you have to keep pushing on until the end where everything clicks into place. I enjoyed the book overall but was very stuck in a jumbo with this one. If you are the type to want to try and guess who did what throughout the storyline but not have every clue then this might be the book for you. Was I shocked about the ending? Yes!

I read this book via audiobook. The narrator did a great job keeping the character's voice and characteristics as it helped keep me on track as to who was who. It was a great pace as well.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for an audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

Twenty years ago a baby was stolen from a grocery store and the family has never been the same since...but what happened to the child?

Edith has been begrudgingly living at a care home that she detests after her daughter dumped her there, but dreams of returning to her home to live out her final days. She has befriended, Patience, an eccentric young girl who has been working at the home. Patience recently ran away from home after a fight with her mother making Edith feel even more connected to her. Edith's daughter Clio, is a psychiatrists who treats patients in her pink home. One of whom is Frankie, a prison guard with a secretive past. How do all of these women tie together? Lies, deceit, money, manipulation, murder, motherhood and a stolen baby, that's how.

Alice Feeney returns with her newest mystery which has a good pace and a few unsuspecting plot twists. The story is told form the four women's pov and is a bit of a slow burn at the beginning. The characters were a bit unlikable but it was their flaws that ultimately bound them together. Overall it held my attention enough to unravel the full history and connections of these women some of which was predictable. This was the first work form Feeney I have read and look forward to grabbing some of her other popular works.

I had the audio version read by Katherine Press and Stephanie Racine both of whom did a great job and were easy and enjoyable to listen to.

Our Queen of Twists, Alice Feeney, who I like to call the Queen of Misdirection, returns with another thrilling, emotionally charged journey in Good Bad Girl. It's filled with the best kind of drama and her trademark surprising killer twists and reveals. While I didn’t quite get that jaw-dropping, I should have seen that twist coming as I have with her other books; Alice Feeney did not disappoint as it offered plenty of surprises. I like to think it was because I was getting smarter with her writing, and I picked up on those clues she brilliantly left for us. HA!!

Rather than solely focusing on the mystery of a stolen baby and a murder, the story centers on the ties between a group of women, and figuring out how they are connected is the mystery here. Feeney skillfully unveils their connection to an initial abduction, constantly keeping me guessing with the shifting perspectives and expertly withheld information to throw me off. What truly sets this story apart is how it delves into the complex web of mother-daughter and women relationships. This crafty thriller engages our minds while delving into human connections and nature.

There are a few characters to keep track of, but Feeny makes it easy for us by creating a diverse mix of unreliable, unlikable, quirky, well-developed characters. I loved Edith, an older, spunky character who added depth to the story. Alice Feeney has truly outdone herself with this emotionally charged and captivating tale.

I received an audiobook copy from the publisher through NetGalley and also purchased a print copy. While I enjoyed listening to it and thought both narrators did a fantastic job and offered an engaging experience, the story was so captivating I could not put it down when I was reading it till I was d

“When someone you love becomes someone you can’t, it is the very worst kind of heartbreak. Goodnight, Ladybug.”

“People always have choices, they just pretend not to in order to feel better about making bad ones.”

“Time is something Frankie struggles to tell these days. Time can be borrowed, wasted, or stolen. Time can bend or break, it can hurt or heal. Time can rewrite history. But time is too precious to be taken. People get taken from our lives and sometimes they never come back. Frankie has taken her time for far too long.”

This was an enjoyable read. I was lucky enough to be able to buddy read it with friends.
It is lighter, imo, than Feeney's other books. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing! It was just kind of unexpected.
I was waiting for the darkness to really take over, and it never did. Which was kind of nice!

If you want a "light" but thrilling read. This one is the Feeney to pick up!

Thanks NetGalley, MacMillan Audio and the lovely miss Feeney for this ARL copy of the audiobook.

Narration is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ by Katherine Press and Stephanie Racine. The narrators brought this twisty tale to life! I cannot recommend this book more.

If you know Alice Feeney’s work, you know that her stories have rich character development and unexpected twists. Good Bad Girl is no different. Set in London, we follow multiple different women and eventually learn how their multiple stories intertwine.

I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did! I had to go buy the physical book to keep it forever.

Good Bad Girl by Alice Feeney is a slow-burn domestic thriller. It follows the POV of 4 women who are all connected by the murder of one person. It follows the premise that, in a world full of people who are good at being bad and those who are bad at being good, sometimes bad things happen to good people who are forced to do bad.

This thriller/drama deals with topics like postpartum depression, abduction, mother-daughter relationships, and generational trauma. I thought Feeley excellently showed the good/bad elements of each character in the story and how they ended up in the situations they were in. Once you felt like you know these characters and their motives, Freeley rips the carpet right from underneath you.
This was my first time listening to an auto book and I thought the narrators did an excellent job. All the characters had a distinct sound and voice that made the listening process enjoyable and immersive.

Thank you, NetGalley and Macmillan Audio!

This is my second book by Alice Feeney and I liked this one more than Daisy Darker. Though the narration was done by the same narrator, this book had more twists and less repetition.

Even if I had not read Daisy Darker, I could have told that Good Bad Girl was written by the same author because of elements such as repetition of numbers, poetic language, and troubled mother-daughter relationships.

The plot was very clever and keeps the reader guessing about how the four female leads are connected to each other. The story is told from Cleo's, Frankie's, Edith's and Patience's pov and all of these characters are written very well. None of these woman were simple. All of them had some secrets and all of them had some characteristics of being a "bad girl". I really enjoyed Edith's accent in the narration and it reminded me of Lady Whistledown's voice in the Bridgerton series. The narrator of Daisy Darker was the same person as well, and hence the first chapter seemed very familiar.

There were so many unexpected twists in this story! There was one chapter where I literally said "Wait, what" aloud 😅 and I love a book that makes me wonder! I tried to connect some dots as soon as a twist was revealed and if this was not an audio book, I definitely would have gone back to the previous chapters to re-read some parts. I enjoyed how everything came together in the end, and it was definitely a fun, thrilling read for me. I am looking forward to reading more books by the author!

Good Bad Girl had promise for me, but it is less of a thriller and more of a slow burn domestic drama dealing with complicated mother/ daughter relationships. We have two crimes that occur twenty years apart that are somehow connected: a kidnapped baby and a murder at an assisted living facility. We have 4 main characters that are the focus on Good Bad Girl. Alice Feeney knows how to write: “This is a crime with three suspects, two murders, and one victim.”

For me the title could have been different: Can we please drop the ‘Girl’ in book titles, especially when we don’t even have a ‘girl’ in the story? All the characters were grown women. ‘Girl’ is in just too many titles these days for thrillers. Especially when the book is less thriller and more domestic drama.

For me the audiobook did not really work: This is a book where I need to actually be sitting down to actually read it and not worry about driving. Because of this I had trouble following the book and keeping the characters straight. The two narrators were very similar in their voices, so I know that did not help me either. I would be willing to pick up a physical/kindle copy to see if I can end up with a differing opinion of this one.

Many thanks to the publisher for granting me a copy to listen to and review.
