I always enjoy Alice’s books. She has a great way of intertwining un seemingly connected characters and story development. I did figure out a few of the twists due to me knowing Feeney’s writing style, but there were a few extra tricks under her sleeve with this one. All in all, I quite enjoyed it and the story kept me interested. The audio was done just as well as her previous books. I would definitely suggest this book.

Good Bad Girl by Alice Feeney
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the early listen!
Alice Feeney does it again!
I really enjoyed this audiobook. What an amazing roller coaster of a ride this book was. It will keep you guessing and hanging on until the end!
The narrators did a wonderful job telling the story. They were able to give each character a voice of their own. Which is great makes it easier to follow each character.
If you love the challenge of figuring out a puzzle... Good Bad Girl IS your next read!
THOUGHTS:
- Falling into the minds of the severely deranged who are pathologically lying with ultimately unreliable thoughts is a fun puzzle!! The first 30% of this book completely threw me off, and I enjoyed the intellectual challenge of figuring out where everything was going and how everything was connected.
- Set in London and definitely gave me those moody fall vibes I love during this time of year! (I'm already over summer, my friends!)

Here's the thing about audiobooks. Even when the characters are well done, and the narrator does a fantastic job(which they did! - I didn't even have to think about which character it was because the narrator's voices were so different), some books you need to hold in your hand to grasp.
Good Bad Girl is one of these books. The narrator can do as amazing of the job as they did, and you'd mostly likely still need to go back and rewind because there are so many details that become important.
In the end, Good Bad Girl is a psychological thriller to throw on your TBR!
**Thank you to Macmillan Audio & NetGalley for the advanced reader copy. I received this book for free, but all thoughts are my own. – SLR 🖤
I was provided an ARC of the audiobook version of Good Bad Girl by Alice Feeney in exchange for an honest review.
An octogenarian, a prison librarian, an estranged daughter, and a nursing home worker's individual lives become brilliantly intertwined in this new psychological thriller by Alice Feeney. If you love character development and have the patience for a slow burn that gets incredibly twisty at the end, this one's for you!
This story revolves around four dynamic women: Frankie, a unique prison librarian; Edith, an 80-year-old currently residing in a mysterious nursing home; Patience, an 18-year-old nursing home worker; and Clio, Edith's enigmatic distant daughter. Once I understood what makes these characters tick, I eagerly turned the page to learn more! This story included some of my favorite themes: strained mother-daughter relationships, murder, lies, and deceit.
The audiobook narrator can make or break a book for me. I fell in love with Stephanie Racine after hearing her audiobook version of another Alice Feeney book, Daisy Darker. I was so excited to see she was also brought back to perform the narration for this book. She does a fantastic job of emphasizing enough that it feels natural without feeling super-theatrical and over the top.
Make sure you grab this psychological thriller once it is released this August!
I listened to the audiobook. It was slightly confusing at first, but once I figured out who was who it was way better. Some of the twists I figured out, some I didn't see coming! Overall good book! I've read/listened to all of her other books, Alice definitely has the twist and turns in this book!

I thought this was a great book! It was filled with twists and surprises especially towards the end! I thought the ending was very clever how it all tied together! It had multiple points of view and time periods. I enjoyed all of the characters and thought that they were built well!
I had the audiobook version and thought both narrators did excellent! Having two definitely added to this story!
Thanks net galley and Macmillan audio for this Arc!
I was beyond excited to be approved for the audiobook of Good Bad Girls.
I've read a couple of Alice Feeney's books and while I have enjoyed them, there hasn't been one that has really captivated me.
With Good Bad Girls, I felt pulled into the story almost immediately. Feeney excels in getting the reader invested in this story right from the first page.
While the story switches character perspectives and timelines, there's never a lull. The story flows so effortlessly between each character and between our present timeline and the past.
I do think that listening to the audiobook really enhanced my experience. I enjoy a British narrator, which this has. But more importantly, I feel like the narration allowed the desperation of the story to come through in a way that I don't feel it would have if I had just been reading the words on the page. I don't know that I've ever had a better audiobook experience.
There are certainly aspects of this story, of the mystery, that the reader will be able to discern from early on, but the big twist is one I did not see coming. Not only is the twist surprising, but it actually makes sense for the story, not falling into the trap of a twist that's just for shock value.
I had a wonferful experience with Good Bad Girls and would definitely recommend it if you're into mystery/thriller.
Rating: 4.5/5 stars
DNF @ 21%. This book was definitely not made for me on audio. I couldn't keep track of the characters and it wasnr holding my interest at all... might try reading it instead once it's out.

Good Bad Girl was not a win for me.
I couldn't patiently wade through all the coincidences and double-crossing to get to the big twisty reveal of like five different "yeah, that makes sense" items in the last 15% of the book. I did power through, but I'm a little resentful that the payoff wasn't bigger.
Perhaps it was asking too much for me to engage with all the characters who each had something not-so-attractive about themselves to hide?
If very much enjoyed this mayberry by Alice Feeney! I would have given it a 5 but I felt that it was slightly far fetched about how all the characters were so connected in the end. I did not guess the ending and am happy with how it concluded and tied up the suspense.
Wow, what a read!
Three suspects. Two murders. One victim. Alice Feeney’s newest book, Good Bad Girl is a slow burn, and worth every single word! Each character has many secrets and mystery surrounding them that slowly unfolds and their lives blend together into a fantastic story that will have readers hanging on to every words until the very end.
Three Suspects, 2 Murders, one victim.
Ok so normally I would tell you some reasons why you should read this book. But to be honest I only have one: TWISTS. Alice Feeney does what she does best in this book, yet again. And frankly it’s hard to know exactly where to start explaining this. A baby is stolen from a stroller and 20 years later there is a woman in a nursing home. How are they connected? It all comes together in the end. And while overall the subject matter in this book didn’t interest me as much as others of hers, it was still very much an enjoyable thriller read.
Alice Feeney is a must-read author for me, so to get the chance to listen to her upcoming book was a treat! That said, I felt like once I did figure out how the missing baby and present-day crimes were linked, the book zipped by after a fairly slow build. I did enjoy this narrator a good deal, and I would totally listen to other audiobooks performed by her. That said, this isn't my favorite Alice Feeney, but it is very good and a great listen!

I really enjoyed the fact that we have the same narrator as we did for Daisy Darker. I really like her!!
We have a few a few stories that are intertwined. An older lady in a care home, a teenager that left home, the daughter of the older lady who's baby was kidnapped when she was young. Somehow their stories are all linked.
Yes, the book is very predictable and there's barely any mystery.
The book didn't feel as good as Daisy Darker , it tended to be too philosophical, too many introspective questions, scenarios and so on.
I did enjoy the book and I am looking forward to Alice Feeney's next book.
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for allowing me to read this great book!
“ Sometimes bad things happen to good people so good people have to do bad things.”
Whew there’s a lot going on in this one! There’s essentially 4 main characters and the story alternates between past and present. A lot to keep up with in this slow burn thriller but I would say it’s worth it! A few well placed, unexpected twists. By the time the big twist came around I was a bit checked out, though.
3 stars for me
Thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Good Bad Girl by Alice Feeney was absolutely unputdownable. This was my first book by the author and I can't wait to read more. The book had several povs, and it was very easy to keep track of what was going on and who was speaking. The narrators did a lovely job bringing the characters to life. The mystery of this one keep me guessing until the very end. The twists were nearly mind blowing. I don't want to give much away so I'll just say this is a must read for thriller lovers.

Yes! Feeney is back with a twisty-turny-what’s-going-on page turner!!! Loved this book and the characters in it really grew on me. I was extremely satisfied with the ending and the revelations at the end of this book and the entire story was so easy to get lost in. Thank you NetGalley for the arc and this one gets 5 stars from me!!
My thanks to Net Galley and Macmillan Audio for allowing me to review this audio book.
A kidnapped infant decades ago, a missing nursing home resident, and a current murder are all commonly linked together. I enjoyed the narrator but this was a very confusing book with numerous POVs jumping around from the characters. Slow build up. Very confusing but good twist.
I just finished Good Bad Girl in Audiobook. I have a tendency to have one book to "read" and another to "listen" to at the same time as I am in my car a lot. This book was a bit of a slow burn for me until it wasn't. It starts out with a child going missing and then it fast forwards to present day with a young runaway working in a nursing home and her relationship with one of the residents. There was just a few chapters that took me some time to listen to but after I got through those I couldn't stop listening. The thing is all I read are thrillers with "twists" so I pretty much guess them all the time. This one I figured out one but you were supposed to but the main one I did not see coming at all. There are a couple of smaller surprises throughout and the way Alice Feeney unfolded the story was genius. I will definitely be recommending this book. I almost didn't request it as Daisy Darker was not for me in spite of its popularity but I am very glad I did.
When is a person 'bad' and when is it just a good person doing bad things?
It's difficult to say a lot about Alice Feeney's latest twisty book, without giving away spoilers, so I will just say this:
At the root of it, this book is about mother-daughter relations and family dynamics - and nothing is at it seems at first!
You will be wonderfully entertained and surprised along the way.
Thank youNetGalley and Macmillan Audio for giving me the chance to listen to and review this ARC.
