This book is so twisty, even when you think all the twists are revealed, there are more.
The women in this story are all complicated people, where your impression of them will alter and present the varying shades of grey that are their morals. It was a good thrill ride, but I took issue with a few of the plot points being implausible and actions being downright stupid. It felt like in order to keep the rollercoaster on track, some shady parts of the story got glossed over. Despite this, I'm sure it will have mass appeal.

3.5/5 Stars rounded up. Good Bad Girl is told from the POVs of Frankie, Cleo, Patience, and Edith - four women whose lives are intertwined in more ways than any of them know. I am struggling with how to summarize the plot of the book without giving anything away, so I will say that there are missing children, a murder investigation, and a whole lot of misdirection.
I enjoyed it, but ultimately I had problems with the plausibility of the plot. There were some events that had me scratching my head. I also don't have any issues with multiple POVs, but in this case the story felt disjointed at times. I wanted a more cohesive story in the end.
Overall I am glad I listened to it, and while it wasn't my favorite Alice Feeney book, I will definitely read more of her work in the future!
Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for the opportunity to review this title!

Another fantastic suspense book by Alice Feeney. I was intrigued from the beginning. I kept thinking that there is no way that the events could be connected but the author does a wonderful job making every thing that seems impossible, possible. Twists and turns until the end. The narrators are some of the best I have listened to. They make the characters come to life. It is a book I could not put down!

This was a good read and I enjoyed the story and different characters, but it kind of lacked the tension and suspense that I associate with an Alice Feeney book. There are quite a few twists and turns that keep the storyline moving at a fast pace but it is a little slow getting to that point. The narration of this one could have been confusing with the number of female characters, but listening to the book was enjoyable and easy.

I just finished Good Bad Girl by Alice Feeney narrated by Katherine Press and Stephanie Racine. This felt different than previous Alice Feeney books. Overall, the story dragged and I could not wait to finish it because I was bored most of the time. There were twists and turns that I would usually enjoy but I feel like it added too much confusion. During yet another twist, I screamed in my head, "Enough with the unnecessary twists, get on with the story!" The narrators were good.
Huge thanks to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for the advanced audiobook version. #Netgalley #GoodBadGirl

4.5 STARS - Alice Feeney is back with another twisty, chilling read! I was thrilled to have been given a digital audiobook advanced copy of this domestic thriller that starts off slow but picks up speed as readers begin to connect the dots between the POVs of four women - Frankie, Patience, Edith and Clio.
The story is filled with complicated family dynamics, a few twists (one that I should have seen coming but didn't!!) and skillfully narrated by Katherine Press and Stephanie Racine. I have come to the conclusion that for me, Alice Feeney's books play out exceptionally well in audio (I'm still not over Richard Armitage's chilling narration of His & Hers! Ahhhmazing!).
Admittedly, Good Bad Girl is a bit of a slow burn and feels a bit disjointed in the beginning, but if readers are patient and allow Feeney to set up her story, they will be pleasantly surprised and entertained by this a blend of thriller and domestic drama with lots of dysfunctional family for good measure.
Good Bad Girl is clever, dark and discussion-provoking read that will give readers and book clubs much to discuss about important issues pertaining to motherhood.

Review of Good Bad Girl by Alice Feeney
Alice Feeney is definitely one of my auto buy authors. I was able to listen to this one on audio thanks to the publisher and netgalley. I did enjoy this one, and found it binge worthy as I listened to it in just one day. However, I do have to say it is not my overall favorite book by this author. It’s probably closer to the bottom of the list, but I would rate it four stars if I still did star ratings. I’m wondering if I might have enjoyed reading a physical copy of the book better so let me know if you did and really loved this one. Sometimes I got confused with the timelines and characters for this one. Overall, the story was not as exciting as I’m used to
But I definitely came into it with extremely high expectations. I still can’t wait to see what comes next from this amazing author.
Synopsis:
Twenty years after a baby is stolen from a stroller, a woman is murdered in a care home. The two crimes are somehow linked, and a good bad girl may be the key to discovering the truth.
Edith may have been tricked into a nursing home, but at eighty-years-young, she’s planning her escape. Patience works there, cleaning messes and bonding with Edith, a kindred spirit. But Patience is lying to Edith about almost everything.
Edith’s own daughter, Clio, won’t speak to her. And someone new is about to knock on Clio’s door…and their intentions aren’t good.
With every reason to distrust each other, the women must solve a mystery with three suspects, two murders, and one victim. If they do, they might just find out what happened to the baby who disappeared, the mother who lost her, and the connections that bind them.
In the style of Daisy Darker and Rock Paper Scissors, Good Bad Girl is a thriller in which nobody can be trusted and the twists come fast and furious.

I love Alice Feeney’s books and this one did not disappoint. It was definitely a complex plot with lots of twists and turns. Loved the ending and had me guessing until the end. Thank you!

Alice Feeny is a favorite of mine. She's very good at keeping you guessing. She also never disappoints.

Thanks to NetGalley & MacMillan Audio for providing an audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second Alice Feeney book I've read (both were audiobooks), and, clearly, she is very into the Big Twist. Good Bad Girl is about four women whose lives are linked in ways they don't even realize: an elderly mother in a carehome; her daughter, a therapist whose baby was snatched when she was just six months old; s teenage carehome employee working off the books; and that employee's mother, There's also a murder stuck in for good measure, as well as a miserable brother (of the therapist).
This story is told in alternating voices in the audiobook, which works OK. The elderly woman is Scottish, and no one has an issue with her accent (always a relief for an audiobook). There's also a minor character who speaks in a Cockney accent, which is quite well done.
Overall, I found the story to be overly complicated and it was tough to care too much about the characters. Their motivations seemed weird to me (why, if your brother was the one behind sticking your mom in a nursing home, would you allow her to think it was you who made that decision? Why would anyone allow someone to take their grandchild away, even with good intentions?) Everything is in service of The Twist, and it leads to some hard-to-repair plot holes.
Stephanie Racine did the voice acting for Daisy Darker as well, and her style has a few too many ... pauses ... for me. I doubt I will be reading another Alice Feeney as I really had to force myself on this one.

I’m a huge Alice Feeney fan so I was psyched to get a copy of this one as an audiobook.
However, 𝙄 𝘾𝘼𝙉𝙉𝙊𝙏 𝙇𝙄𝙎𝙏𝙀𝙉 𝙏𝙊 𝘼𝙇𝙄𝘾𝙀 𝙁𝙀𝙀𝙉𝙀𝙔'𝙎 𝙏𝙒𝙄𝙎𝙏𝙔 𝙏𝙃𝙍𝙄𝙇𝙇𝙀𝙍𝙎 / 𝙈𝙔𝙎𝙏𝙀𝙍𝙔 𝙉𝙊𝙑𝙀𝙇𝙎. There it is, my declaration out in the world. I just can’t do it. I need a physical copy of her books. It’s a promise
I’m making to myself…always have a AF book in your hands Jess. 😂🤣😂 There is just too much going on. Don’t get me wrong the audiobook narrator was great, I just struggled keeping everyone’s character straight in my brain especially where there is a mystery POV thrown in there too. Then several chapters ended with The End. So I kept panicking that I was at “the end” and missed something but rest assured…it’s not over until the end…end.
In true Alice Feeney fashion she wraps everything up nicely at the end.
Overall, an enjoyable solid read with complex relationships and motivations.

This was a good domestic thriller. It definitely had some twists I didn’t see coming. Lots of characters so it was a guessing game. Always love her books.

I enjoyed this book but it did take me longer than usual to get into it. I had a hard time following the story at the beginning but I eventually caught on. It started slow but picked up in the second half once I started to put things together. The audio was fantastic but the different point of views made it harder to follow. Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this audiobook.

The start of this book was super confusing at first. Constantly switching back and forth between Frankie, Edith, Chloe, and Patience. It all got to be too much.
After a while, it started to make a bit more sense. As the story unfolds, you start to put the pieces together. The shock factor wasn’t there for me. Maybe I watch too many Lifetime movies? But this premise has been done before.
This wasn’t my cup of tea, but it wasn’t horrible. If you like predictable stories, this may be for you.

I am so devastatingly disappointed that I didn’t love this. This was one of my top most-anticipated releases for this year. I have absolutely devoured her previous books. But this one… oh my, what a flop. It fell so flat for me.
I didn’t find any of the characters particularly endearing. I didn’t hate them, I just didn’t care enough. There were so many plot lines (none of which were very thrilling) happening simultaneously that I got a little lost at times. And, honestly, I was just bored the entire time. I was not at all invested in anyone or anything.
This lacked all of the spark, mystery, suspense, tension, and propulsive reading experience that I expect from this author. I really don’t know what happened here but it didn’t work for me. Better luck next year, hopefully?
I definitely struggled with the audiobook version. There are many perspectives and it switches often. I love this writing style normally but the audio and voice of the characters were hard to differentiate between.
I’m still going to recommend to anyone who loves this author to give this book a shot. It wasn’t terrible but it was just a major let down from some of her other books. I absolutely hate giving this a low rating but I have to be fair and honest with it.

Alice Feeney the queen of twists delivers again with Good Bad Girl. Two crimes committed decades apart, could they possibly be linked together? We have 80-year-old Edith, Patience, (whose name isn't really Patience) and Clio. The way the author weaves together the story of these three women is masterful. Edith is planning her escape from the care home she's been tricked into, and Patience who has bonded with Edith, may just be her ticket out. Although, Patience has a few secrets of her own. Clio, Edith's daughter and a counselor, has a new client who may not have the best intentions. These three women are the key to solving the mystery with "three suspects, two murders, and one victim. I'll admit in the beginning the multiple POV were a bit hard to follow listening to the audiobook, but as the story went on I was able to keep them straight. I got really invested about a quarter of the way through and could not stop listening until the very at from that point forward. I figured out at least one twist at about 60 percent of the way through, but then got a case of whiplash from the twists from that point on. WOW. Alice Feeney knows how to throw some curveballs, but in the very best way. If you love a fast-paced mystery with roots deep in family drama, you will devour Good Bad Girl. Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan audio for my ALC.

I have mixed feelings about Alice Feeney books but I had seen good things about this one. I thought it was ok. Not really as much of a thriller as her normal books. I’m not really sure if you can count these as twists, as they were sort of hinted upon. Good but not particularly amazing or jaw dropping. The narration was good but a little confusing since there were several female perspectives.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Twenty years ago: a baby goes missing from a grocery store cart. Present day: a woman is murdered in a nursing home. This story follows four women and how they’re all connected to these crimes and each other. Lots of good twists that in hindsight, I should have seen coming, but didn’t. Super solid mystery/thriller that I’d recommend for your next binge read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was more along the lines of a domestic drama/suspense.
I loved the family dynamics. You thought you knew a character and peeled another layer back. I thought the character development was great. One line perfectly describes my own mom’s relationship with my sister “I am the villain in my daughters life, and she is the villain in my life. We both believe our stories are true.”
At the 50% mark I had it figured out but there were still some surprising twists. Everything was tied up and answered.

Twenty years ago, a baby was stolen from a supermarket. In present day, Edith, Frankie, Clio, and Patience are all dealing with the consequences of that action. Edith is a resident at a care home and wants to escape. Her daughter, Clio, harbors lots of resentment toward her mom. Patience works at the care home and has a bond with Edith. She hasn't seen her mom, Frankie, in almost a year. After the care home manager is murdered, no one is safe from being a suspect.
I normally love Alice Feeney's books and find them full of great twists and turns I didn't see coming. This one still had a bunch of twists, but I saw most, if not all, of them coming. There were only one or two smaller ones at the end I didn't see. Maybe it was the audio format instead of reading - it probably gave me more time to puzzle over it and piece things together.
I do appreciate that the narrators of this book used different voices/accents for each of the four main characters. Even with the chapters labeled by character name, in audio format it would have been hard to keep up with without the voice change.
I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
