Brilliantly twisty. Feeney knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. This was not my favorite, but I love how she tells a great story and makes you suspect everyone.
Narration was excellent, and it brought the story and characters to life.

Good Bad Girl had be on the edge of my seat most of the story trying to figure out what was going to happen. I absolutely loved this thrilling mystery and could not listen fast enough! The twists! This book was full of them and I literally did not see any of them coming! This was your typical Alice Feeney book and I just devoured it!
The narrators, Katherine Press and Stephanie Racine were absolutely perfect for their rolls and I thought they were exceptional! I don’t think I’ve listened to any audiobooks with either of them as a narrator in the past, but I will definitely be looking for more by them in the future!
I highly recommend this one!

Wow. I am an Alice Feeney fan and Good Bad Girl is just another reason why. Fabulous writing, great characters and lots of twists to keep you guessing. This time I listened to audio and the narration was great also. Sad that the book is over, I just loved listening to it. Will recommend to everyone!
Sheeeeee's Baaaaack!
So I am thinking authors are finally out of their Covid Slump! Peter Swanson, Riley Sager, Megan Gouldin and now Alice Feeney let me down with their previous few books, but she brought it in this book. Like she hit the hammer on the nail, bullseye and hole in one!
Alice Feeney's writing is full of "sayings" like “The world is full of people who are good at being bad, and people who are bad at being good.”just to name one. Her writing is genius and smooth. I think what I enjoyed most about this book was how vague Feeney presented the characters revealing just a bit at a time, and usually she would leave me the reader with a massive reveal at the end of a chapter and I would have to wait to circle back to that character's POV.
As I was reading this book I felt like my mind was working a rubics cube, given some of the pieces of a puzzle, but as the chapters unfold I could snap more and more blocks together until finally the end was complete and I could see how all the moving parts worked together (And against each other) to form a perfect ending.
I would suggest readings this book with total blinders. Don't even read the blurb like me. Just trust where Feeney takes you. I went into the book not knowing ANYTHING about the plot which really let me sink into the mystery. It also prevented me from guessing all the twist. All you need to know is:
3 Suspects 2 Murders 1 Victim
Although I couldn't help myself from making several (wrong!) predictions! I love being wrong (don't tell anyone I said that or that I admit to being wrong-ha!)
One final note: I love ladybugs!
Excellent book Feeney Fans, and those new to Feeney, welcome to an experience that will certainly leave you in awe of what a brilliant writer she is.
Props to the narrators Katherine Press and Stephanie Racine who do a phenomenal job.

I'm not sure where should I even start with this review. To my surprise, the story doesn't seem true to the premise and description, because those are not women who team up to solve some crime, but women tangled by destiny and coincidence in family drama and their connection to each other. A little girl is kidnapped and 20 years later we get to know what happened that feral day. In about 40% I had the whole thing figured out. I feel like everything was so obvious that there was a need for an additional twist in the end that does not make much sense and felt forced. Another thing I noticed was the deliberate repetition of certain phrases that at the beginning could direct toward the solution, but in some cases, it seemed like sloppy writing. There is a hint that women across generations make the same mistakes, follow the same paths, jet having the same thoughts and feelings are not in that bucket, and did not convince me. None of those women were likable. I get, that nobody is perfect, but they think about themselves as good, yet they treat each other terribly. The way how they converse with each other was absolutely jarring. As far as audio goes, it was a good production, and it makes sense to me to use different voices towards each POV, yet I still had trouble at the beginning to differentiate each character. It's hard to say if that was a matter of writing or voices themselves.

This was one of my most anticipated thrillers this summer, and it did not disappoint! In fact, this is the best Alice Feeney book I’ve read yet.
The story follows four women, Edith, Patience, Clio, and Frankie. Edith is an 80-year-old woman who wants to escape from her nursing home; Patience is 18 years old and works at the nursing home where Edith lives; Clio is Edith’s estranged daughter, and Frankie is a librarian at a prison. Add in a kidnapped baby from twenty years ago, a murder at the nursing home, and some shady behavior, and this was an addictive thriller that I could not stop listening to.
I love a good surprise, and this book had a few big twists that I was not expecting. It explores the complex connections between each woman and the events surrounding the kidnapped baby. The mystery is cleverly constructed, and we’re led down a path full of red herrings and shocking revelations as the story unfolds. The perfect pacing was a balance between unraveling the mysteries and building the suspense, which added to the tension and kept me guessing until the end.
Overall this was an enthralling psychological thriller full of complex characters, an intricate plot, and a moody atmosphere. I listened to this on audio, and both narrators did an excellent job bringing all the characters to life.
Fans of suspenseful mysteries will love this dark tale of lies, secrets, and the search for truth. Thank you to Macmillan Audio for my complimentary audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Good Bad Girl comes out on 8/29.
Pretty solid, but not as thrilling as the author's other books. I liked the themes of motherhood and relationships between women. I would recommend this to fans of Alice Feeney for sure.
A twisty and surprising read that makes you question everything!
Alice Feeney delivers yet another surprising read that keeps you guessing to the very end. There were a few points while listening to this book that my jaw dropped, and I was shocked at what I was hearing. Told from multiple viewpoints, I love that the reader doesn’t know who to trust through it all. And the ending was spot on! I enjoyed this engaging audio book, and the narrators’ performances kept me wanting to listen to more and more.
A big thank you to NetGalley, Macmillan Audio, and Alice Feeney for providing me with this gifted audio copy in exchange for my honest review.
Prepare to be captivated by a scintillating tale of domestic intrigue, delving deep into the intricate bonds and fractures between mothers and daughters. "Good Bad Girl" by Alice Feeney delivers a mesmerizing narrative that keeps you on your toes throughout. Just as you think you've unraveled its secrets, the story takes an unexpected turn, leaving you pleasantly surprised by its intricate twists and turns.
Feeney masterfully crafts the plot from four distinct viewpoints, weaving them together in a complex tapestry that gradually unveils the characters' sorrows and traumas. The culmination of these perspectives leads to a stunning and unforeseen conclusion, leaving you awestruck by Feeney's storytelling prowess.
Having embarked on this literary journey with "Good Bad Girl," I find myself eagerly anticipating more from this talented author. Alice Feeney's skill in creating an intricate and gripping narrative is commendable. Mark your calendars for August 29, when this enthralling masterpiece will be released. A heartfelt appreciation to Flatiron Books for providing an advance copy, allowing me to delve into this captivating world of complex emotions and suspenseful storytelling.
For anyone who starts this book and is put off by the POVs- KEEP GOING, I promise it works itself out and things start to clear up :-)
I will start by saying that I'm from the US, so I LOVED the narration and accents. They were calm and soothing and I would love to be lulled to sleep every night being read to by them- I'll admit that the night I should've finished this, I actually did fall asleep (BUT NOT FOR LACK OF INTEREST OR STORYLINE!!), They are JUST. THAT. GOOD!
POV switches were a bit difficult initially, but once each character divulged details about themselves and their motive, it was MUCH easier to keep track of who's who.
There were a lot of details and reveals I did not see coming and I thoroughly enjoyed following each character and unearthing their layers and how they all connected. I wouldn't call this an edge-of-your-seat thriller, I saw it definitely more towards general fiction/mystery with some sprinkles of family drama/relationships thrown in.
WARNINGS/potential spoilers for TWs:
This does contain themes and elements that some may find disturbing or triggering, such as infant/child loss, post-partum depression, elderly mistreatment and brief mentions of abortion.
I loved this audiobook! The narrator’s accents were great and really made me want to keep listening. While there was 4 POV, I had no issues keep track of who was speaking and what was going on.
The mystery kept me on my toes and had me hooked the entire time. At one of the twists, my jaw was left hanging wide open because I never saw it coming. I really love the family tension and the difference relationships throughout the book. While I have read almost all of Feeney’s books, I can say that her title is absolutely true, she is The Queen of Twists! As soon as you are able to get a copy of this book, do it!
Rating this 4.5 stars but rounding up to 5 stars on Goodreads.
***** Many thanks to Macmillan Audio, Alice Feeney, and NetGalley for the ALC as it was provided to me in turn for my honest opinion.
Mother's Day will never be the same.
.
I found this Domestic Thriller to be a slow start, I found the back and fourth with characters a little hard to follow. It toke a bit for the whole plot to work its way to tie it all together and at times was predictable.
.
The story goes around the ins and outs of motherhood. Loss of children, dealing with the disconnection between mothers and daughters. Also the sadness of how the elderly are mistreated in care facilities. Overall the story was good but I struggled with having it be a page turner.

Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan audio for an ALC in exchange for an honest review. Good Bad Girl is due out on August 29, 2023
Another excellent novel by Alice Feeney. She finds a way to make even the most beloved characters do cruel things, and this book hightlights her ability to make women more complex, more "good bad girls". This might be one of my favorites of Feeney's, as I loved the many layers, the mystery surrounding the characters and how they could all be connected, and the overall atmosphere of the novel. It was a really enjoyable read!
Alice Feeney's work is so diverse that she is able to write novels that never let the reader down. Good Bad Girl, though very different from her last novel, Daisy Darker, is equally entralling and mysterious. Focused on the interwining lives of numerous women, the mystery unfolds in a family drama/mystery that would rival Lisa Jewell's work. Feeney tackles deep themes like motherhood and broken mother-daughter relationships, in a way that causes thought and retrospection if one is a mother. The audiobook was beautifully read!
Sometimes good people do bad things… Alice Feeney has done it again! In true Feeney fashion, I did not see this twist coming! I truly tried to play the investigator role in this story with two murders three suspects and one victim (one of them deserved it). BOY WAS I WRONG! Every time I thought I figured out the ending, I was hit with another twist! I am so impressed with how these complicated mother daughter relationships are written. I saw so much of myself and my own mother woven into these complex women. I didn’t love the cadence of the audiobook narrator at first, but after meeting each of the characters, I feel the vocal choices were perfect! Highly recommend to anyone who loves Alice Feeney’s work or to anyone who enjoys some excellent drama!
Thank you to NetGalley for early access to the audiobook in exchange for my honest review!
So I kind of liked this one, but I think I just wasn’t in the right mood for it tbh. It was decent and there was a good twist, but it wasn’t as exciting as I expected it to be considering it was written by Alice Feeney. Again, it wasn’t bad, but I found it to be a pretty average thriller.
A big thanks to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for the ALC in exchange for
GOOD BAD GIRL by Alice Feeney is a brilliant psychological suspense novel that had me devouring it all in one day! Four women, three suspects, two murders, and one victim is the basis for a twisty-turvy plot that weaves the lives of four seemingly unconnected women together. Ms. Feeney has penned a riveting tale that stayed with me long after I finished the last page.
I was provided with an advance audiobook, thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio. Narrators Katherine Press and Stephanie Racine did an admirable job in making the characters come to life. They effectively captured the nuances of the age differences between the women and I could easily follow which characters were speaking.

A 6-month old baby abducted from a supermarket, and elderly woman missing from a nursing home, and a murdered care home manager and the police gave three suspects: a woman seen lurking around the nursing home, the estranged daughter of the missing elderly woman, and a disgruntled employee of the nursing home.
Alice Feeney takes you on a journey where the past and the present collide and there are many secrets that have been kept for years. It kept me entertained the entire time!

Thank you for allowing me to read this book as an ARC, actually in audio format.
Alice Feeney did not disappoint yet again. While I have always loved her books, I feel like she has gotten even better in working all these twists and turns into her stories. I was at first a little confused about all the different characters and who is who, however, it eventually became clear and added to the plot. The plot kept thickening towards the end and I was totally enjoying every part of the storyline.
I especially also liked the narrator of the book. The accent and the special talent of the narrator on making the story sound like it's happening right then and there were perfect.
Great job again on a great book. 5 🌟 for me.
