Whew! This book was all kinds of addictive and spicy. I read the novella that takes place prior to Salt Kiss before I dove into this one, so I had an idea of what I was getting into. I love that it's a take on Tristan and Isolde.

I think it was really smart of Sierra to give us so much time with Mark and Tristan for the majority of this book. Their dynamic is super interesting and watching how Tristan transformed when he was sent to travel with Isolde was captivating. His sort-of dual personality was fun to read about. The ending had me in a chokehold and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one in this series.

The Mark, Tristan, Isolde dynamic is going to addictive reading. I just know it.

Yet again, give me more! I could NOT put this down. I am HOOKED. I cannot wait for what comes next. These 3 are gonna be messy and I'm gonna grab my popcorn. There's nothing wrong with this book. It’s thrilling. The distrust that Sierra has woven through the story.. well, it made me question absolutely everything that was occurring throughout the plot and it is superb!I loved seeing Tristan with Mark, I loved seeing Tristan with Isolde. We have Mark, a former CIA agent, Tristan the virgin bodyguard, and Isolde the badass woman who wanted to become a nun but was put into an arranged betrothal with Mark. We get BDSM, play with submission and pain, and everything is just delicious. This MMF Tristan and Isolde retelling is already off to a fantastic start and this series is my fav from Sierra Simone yet!

So, I just finished indulging in "Salt Kiss" by the incredible Sierra Simone, and let me say, it's like a decadent treat for the soul!

Okay, first off, let's talk about the writing. Simone has this way of weaving words together: pure magic. The prose is so lyrical and evocative that it practically dances off the page and wraps you up in its embrace.

Now, onto the romance. 🔥 Can we take a moment to appreciate the steam factor in this book? It's off the charts! The chemistry between the characters is so palpable that you can practically feel the heat radiating off the page. And let me tell you, the tension? It's so deliciously intense you'll be on the edge of your seat begging for more.

But what sets "Salt Kiss" apart is its depth. Beyond the swoon-worthy romance, this rich tapestry of emotion and complexity keeps you hooked from beginning to end. It's a story about love in all its messy, beautiful glory and absolutely captivating.

Overall, "Salt Kiss" is a mesmerizing read that'll leave you breathless and craving more. If you're a fan of steamy romance with a side of soul-stirring depth, do yourself a favour and dive into this book ASAP. Trust me, you won't regret it! 💖🌊

If I could give this book 100/5 stars I would. This is a top read for me this month, maybe even this year.

If you've ever read, seen, or heard of the story of Tristan and Isolde, it may spoil a portion of the book for you HOWEVER, Sierra made this her own with the twist involving Tristan and Mark.

Tristan has just left the army and he doesn't know what to do with himself. He's not the same man he once was, but war will do that to you, right?
Everyone claims he's the hero, but hero's don't exist... or do they?

Mark is the head of the Lyonesse club (kink club btw) and he's got dark dark secrets, but being Tristan's new uncle-in-law, he offers him a job working as his personal body guard and Tristan's world goes topsy turvy.

Mark's one request of Tristan is to go pick up Isolde from Ireland and bring her back to him... but can he?

Just ugh, Sierra nailed it. NAILED IT.

What to expect:
- Kink
- Kink club
- MM
- MF
- Secrets
- Memories of war
- Broken Trust
- CLIFFHANGER - god damnit, lol!

3.5/5 stars - i really enjoyed this book up until meeting isolde. i’m not well versed in the story even though i’ve seen the movie, but something about the pacing was so odd. the beginning with mark and tristan was great and well executed and then it all felt rushed, crammed in towards the end. i definitely want to see where the rest of the story goes!

4⭐️4🌶️

Sierra Simone could write the phonebook and I would read 👏it 👏 up👏 This book was arguably better but just saying, I’m a fan and if it’s biased, I don’t care. I don’t think I’ve ever read a Tristan x Isolde story but this makes me want to know the original so I can understand.

Coming back to New Camelot vibes was stressful because the first series gave me heart palpitations 😂. I’m sure by the time we’re done with this one, it will be way worse but in the best ways. Hit me with the angst and the spice; I like the way it hurts 🙇‍♀️.

Poor Tristan is caught between a rock and hard place(and both are smoking hot). I just want to hug my sweet cinnamon roll and save him from those edgy people we are both obsessed with. Because Mark and Isolde are complicated to know and more so to love. She’s sneaky and he’s downright diabolical. I think as the series goes on and we see more from their sides, they will become more endearing. Right now it’s team Tristan and team Spicy things for me.

The thing I love most about Sierra books is the prose is almost poetic. Her descriptions and narration immerse you 🤩 I also trust her with kink, especially the sub/dom dynamic (Hello Ash 🥵). This book has those elements.

This book will have you questioning everything. Is it possible to be scared of something and still obsessed with it 🤔 because that is me with Mark. Only weird thing for me was we don’t see the 3 of them together in this book - it’s Tristan & Mark for about 2/3 and Tristan & Isolde for the last 1/3. I don’t know where the next book is going to go but I am in for the long haul. That cliffhanger 🫣

This is a different book than I'd been reading. Quite a bit racy but I liked it and it had me reading to the end and wanting more!

This was a super spicy read. I’ve never read a male, male, female romance so it took a bit to get used to. Interesting plot but I’m not sure I loved it.

Holy s* ... that was a lot

I don't want to give this less than a 4⭐ on here as even though I might not personally have enjoyed it the way it's supposed to, I can recognize Sierra Simone's kill in writing what she writes (and I really enjoy her prose as well). It just wasn't a fit for me.

I do wish I'd seen more of Isolde though. It went a little bit stale and slow in the middle when repeated ya know scenes, one after another, and I feel it would've fit well to have her introduced maybe a bit earlier.

If you enjoyed her Camelot trilogy, you'd definitely enjoy this one too!

3.7⭐

Thank you to SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review

I can not wait for more of this series to come out. Engaging and different with action and kink and deep love between the characters, what more could you want. This one being the first of the series as heavy on world building and character development but uses the old reliable trope of having one character completely new to the scene and the world to make it less overwhelming.

“It’s getting hot in here” if she writes it I will read it. I just love Sierra books and this one was delightful!

This is really not my type of book and I did not do my research on what I was getting into before hand. If you like dark contemporary spicy poly romance this might be your thing. Know what you''re getting into first.

Where to begin with this one?
2.5 stars.
I started reading this ARC about a month ago and after a few pages put it down because I couldn’t get into it. I missed the pub date for this one but was able to get the audiobook from my local library through the Hoopla app. I’m glad I went this route and listened to it rather than read it because I probably would not have finished if not for the audiobook. I LOVED Sierra Simones other works such as American Queen, American King, and Priest, even loved her collab with Julie Murphy for A Merry Little Meet Cute. I knew my girl was into filthy, dirty things and DO NOT GET ME WRONG, I LOVE that stuff sometimes too, but this book was primarily kink based with no plot in sight.

Mark is Tristans dad’s new wife’s brother….so he is his step uncle? And he owns Lioness, a huge well known but underground kink club? Tristan is a virgin in his late 20’s but also a war veteran 4 times over. After returning from war and killing his best friend who tried to kill one of the assests they were hired to protect, he ends up accepting a job as. Body guard for Mark at his kink club. Next thing we know, Mark and Tristan are fucking like rabbits all over the club and on trips and Tristan is in love with Mark. Mark asks Tristan to go get his FIANCÉ who lives in Ireland and sail her back home to America for their wedding. Isolde is basically marrying Mark as a transaction and ALSO a virgin who then sleeps with Tristan. Tristan feels guilt for wanting Isolde and loving Mark at the same time. Turns out, once they get back to America after their 3 week sailing across the Atlantic fuck fest, Mark SAW them fucking the entire time and then BOOM the book ends.

OKAY???
The plot stopped existing. It was like fever dream inserts of Mark and Tristan fucking and Tristans thoughts and that was really it. Time slips away and instead we get tiny fragments of what’s happening through Tristans POV. I will note that the prologue was Mark speaking with his twin sister ( not Tristan’s dads wife) about a diabolical plan and I feel like in the next book it will be revealed that Mark used Tristan to get to his powerful dad someway and that will crush the poor delusional boy. ALSO- because Mark deals in information exchange and is behind HUGE political power plays which we see come to light in the book, I bet money that Mark is the one who paid Tristans friend to try to assassinate the prime minister of whatever which caused Tristan to kill his best friend. Will ALSO crush that fucking guys heart. But I’m sure he will be forgiven, Tristan will still fuck him and his fiance and all will be right in the world.

Just didn’t do much for me. But if you like sex & are into kinks, this is your book.

Salt Kiss is the first book in the Lyonesse series, and I am so hooked. I couldn’t put this steamy, sexy book down!
I love a retelling and this was a medieval romance in modern times as a New Camelot story. The love triangle follows Tristan. Mark, and there was so much tension and angst, and I gobbled it right on up.

*many thanks to Bloom and Netgalley for the gifted copy for review.

Sierra Simone creates spicy intimate drama that always manages to surprise me. Mark and Tristan are on fire and then the story flips to Isolde and Tristan. This emotional story follows the three of them as Tristan is hired to first guard Mark and then Isolde as he brings her to Mark so they can marry. Temptation proves to be the ultimate winner in this start to a tantalizing spinoff of her New Camelot series and I can't wait for book two!

I requested this ARC after reading New Camelot. I love the story of Tristan and Isolde, and I was excited to read a retelling by Sierra Simone. This did not disappoint; I think I even liked it more than New Camelot. The spice was perfect and the angst was just right; it wasn't as overwrought as New Camelot. I can't wait for book two!!

What a wild ride!!

This was a great read. I've read most of Simone's previous works and this one was right up there with the spice and the messy characters! There were moments where I just wanted to shake Mark and Tristan and tell them to just talk to each other!! But that just added to the angst and tension so I guess I can't be mad about it.

That ending!! I am eagerly awaiting the next book. I can't wait to see where we're going from here.
