I can not wait for more of this series to come out. Engaging and different with action and kink and deep love between the characters, what more could you want. This one being the first of the series as heavy on world building and character development but uses the old reliable trope of having one character completely new to the scene and the world to make it less overwhelming.

“It’s getting hot in here” if she writes it I will read it. I just love Sierra books and this one was delightful!

This is really not my type of book and I did not do my research on what I was getting into before hand. If you like dark contemporary spicy poly romance this might be your thing. Know what you''re getting into first.

Where to begin with this one?
2.5 stars.
I started reading this ARC about a month ago and after a few pages put it down because I couldn’t get into it. I missed the pub date for this one but was able to get the audiobook from my local library through the Hoopla app. I’m glad I went this route and listened to it rather than read it because I probably would not have finished if not for the audiobook. I LOVED Sierra Simones other works such as American Queen, American King, and Priest, even loved her collab with Julie Murphy for A Merry Little Meet Cute. I knew my girl was into filthy, dirty things and DO NOT GET ME WRONG, I LOVE that stuff sometimes too, but this book was primarily kink based with no plot in sight.

Mark is Tristans dad’s new wife’s brother….so he is his step uncle? And he owns Lioness, a huge well known but underground kink club? Tristan is a virgin in his late 20’s but also a war veteran 4 times over. After returning from war and killing his best friend who tried to kill one of the assests they were hired to protect, he ends up accepting a job as. Body guard for Mark at his kink club. Next thing we know, Mark and Tristan are fucking like rabbits all over the club and on trips and Tristan is in love with Mark. Mark asks Tristan to go get his FIANCÉ who lives in Ireland and sail her back home to America for their wedding. Isolde is basically marrying Mark as a transaction and ALSO a virgin who then sleeps with Tristan. Tristan feels guilt for wanting Isolde and loving Mark at the same time. Turns out, once they get back to America after their 3 week sailing across the Atlantic fuck fest, Mark SAW them fucking the entire time and then BOOM the book ends.

OKAY???
The plot stopped existing. It was like fever dream inserts of Mark and Tristan fucking and Tristans thoughts and that was really it. Time slips away and instead we get tiny fragments of what’s happening through Tristans POV. I will note that the prologue was Mark speaking with his twin sister ( not Tristan’s dads wife) about a diabolical plan and I feel like in the next book it will be revealed that Mark used Tristan to get to his powerful dad someway and that will crush the poor delusional boy. ALSO- because Mark deals in information exchange and is behind HUGE political power plays which we see come to light in the book, I bet money that Mark is the one who paid Tristans friend to try to assassinate the prime minister of whatever which caused Tristan to kill his best friend. Will ALSO crush that fucking guys heart. But I’m sure he will be forgiven, Tristan will still fuck him and his fiance and all will be right in the world.

Just didn’t do much for me. But if you like sex & are into kinks, this is your book.

Salt Kiss is the first book in the Lyonesse series, and I am so hooked. I couldn’t put this steamy, sexy book down!
I love a retelling and this was a medieval romance in modern times as a New Camelot story. The love triangle follows Tristan. Mark, and there was so much tension and angst, and I gobbled it right on up.

*many thanks to Bloom and Netgalley for the gifted copy for review.

Sierra Simone creates spicy intimate drama that always manages to surprise me. Mark and Tristan are on fire and then the story flips to Isolde and Tristan. This emotional story follows the three of them as Tristan is hired to first guard Mark and then Isolde as he brings her to Mark so they can marry. Temptation proves to be the ultimate winner in this start to a tantalizing spinoff of her New Camelot series and I can't wait for book two!

I requested this ARC after reading New Camelot. I love the story of Tristan and Isolde, and I was excited to read a retelling by Sierra Simone. This did not disappoint; I think I even liked it more than New Camelot. The spice was perfect and the angst was just right; it wasn't as overwrought as New Camelot. I can't wait for book two!!

What a wild ride!!

This was a great read. I've read most of Simone's previous works and this one was right up there with the spice and the messy characters! There were moments where I just wanted to shake Mark and Tristan and tell them to just talk to each other!! But that just added to the angst and tension so I guess I can't be mad about it.

That ending!! I am eagerly awaiting the next book. I can't wait to see where we're going from here.

I really did enjoy this read. For me, it was a solid 3 stars and that’s a good rating. It means I was entertained and would likely recommend to others.

Yes. Sierra Simone has cemented herself as a fixture in the erotica space. The way she writes is so damn enjoyable and I always have a good time reading anything she writes.

Spicy spicy

Tristan is looking for something after leaving the army. He is hired by club owner Tristan as a bodyguard. He develops feelings for Mark, though he knows he owns a BDSM club. His feelings are hurt when Mark sends him to guard his fiancee Isolde as she makes the trip to meet him. Tristan and Isolde end up getting to know each other and share a kiss on a steamy night. A hot, sexy mmf menage is only the beginning for these three people. Cliffhanger ending.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley.

I did really enjoy this, and it certainly is steamy. Sierra Simone is a favourite of mine, and I'm really excited to see where this series goes. I did find there were parts of this novel that didn't hang together as well as I'd hoped, but overall an enjoyable read.

'Salt Kiss' by Sierra Simone is an extra spicy retelling of Tristan and Isolde. It is the first in the series of three...and you may want to wait until book two is out before starting this one because it will leave you wanting...more books.

Ummm yes, so much yes. I loved this book! I loved that there was plot with the perfect amount of spice- it touched in real issues such as the ptsd and Made you fall in love with the characters and their relationships as they develop. And that ending…. I am (im)patiently waiting for the second installment to see what happens next. Definitely recommend this book!

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and author for allowing me to read this book in exchange for a review - well worth it!

Ooooh? An MMF based on a medieval chivalric romance set in modern times? Yes, Please.

This messy, chaotic romance is just what I needed.

Tristan is the main character, and his story follows two very different relationships. With Mark, Tristan is his bodyguard with outside forces driving them apart. With Isolde, the relationship is about healing and finding peace. Oh, did I mention that she’s engaged to Mark? Hello, Plot Twist.

This salty, messy, and super spicy romance will not leave you disappointed.

Let me start by saying that you should stop right now and go read/listen to Salt in The Wound before getting to this one.  The free prequel to this story sets up a lot of the politics and machinations you don't want to miss. In that one, Marl Trevena, former CIA and now owner of an exclusive kink club in NYC and Isolde Laurence, his reluctant bride-to-be, are introduced.

Now, enter Tristan Thomas. Former Army soldier, who's lost. Deemed a hero for something that basically cost him his soul, he is in an existential limbo. Then Mark Trevena, whose sister just married his father, offers him a job as his bodyguard. Soon he's drawn into Mark's world of power and desire and he finds unexpected things about himself. He never expected to share his boss's bed when he vowed to protect him

When Mark asks Tristan, who's completely enamored of him, to guard his fiancée on a trip from Ireland to NY aboard his luxury yacht, Tristan is heartbroken and jealous. But when he meets the delicate and demure Isolde, he's smitten, fascinated. The fascination is mutual and after one unexpected intimate moment, they fall into the forbidden. Now he has to hand over the woman he's falling for to the man he already loves.

But in this dark and twisted world, no one and nothing is what it seems....

This book is unputdownable! And you'll be screaming when you get to the ending because the queen of edging leaves us panting for what comes next as it ends in a doozy of a cliffhanger. We know Mark is devious but so is sweet and apparently docile Isolde....

Very spicy and interesting story line. But the beginning was a bit slow and took a while to get into the book.

Didn’t love the love triangle aspect. But great writing and love Sierras ability to write spicy romances that chemistry jumps off the page.

This entire book is about Tristan getting down and dirty with Mark and falling in love & repeating it with Isolde. The End! Nothing major happens. i probably would’ve enjoyed it more if I cared about Tristan but I don’t.

5/5 Stars

Thank you to Bloom Books for providing me with an arc.

I love Sierra Simone’s books and this one definitely is one of my favorites from her. This is a spicy queer and kinky retelling of the legend of Tristian and Isolde set in the same world as the New Camelot series. This will become an mmf relationship but for this book it was mainly mm and mf separately. I will say read the novella Salt in the wound before Salt Kiss, it is optional but it adds a lot of context for Isolde’s history. Also the blurb for the book I feel reveals a little too much but do check trigger warnings as this has a lot of BDSM throughout the book.

This book follows Tristian as our main character after he has left the army and gets a job as Mark’s bodyguard. Mark Trevena is the owner of Lyonesse, a very exclusive kink club that deals in dangerous secrets. Tristian feels a spark with Mark that he can’t ignore for long but it complicates his job has Mark’s bodyguard. Diving quickly into the world of forbidden acts Tristian gives into his feelings for Mark but outside forces keep trying to drive them apart.

I really liked Tristian and I liked seeing him start to deal with what happened while he was in the army and try to adjust to life outside of it. I also really like Mark and I can’t wait to hopefully get a POV from him soon because that man is up to some shit and I need to know more. Mark is a very complex character and he is morally iffy and makes questionable choices throughout the book. Tristan and Mark are fiery and intense during their relationship, when they decide to pursue it, they go from 0 to 100 really quick. I also really liked Tristian with Isolde but that is towards the end of the book, I liked that they understood each other easily and they were so emotional together and the perfect opposite to Mark and Tristian.

I can’t wait to continue the series as I know it will be messy and spicy as hell. I definitely plan on reading the New Camelot series as I really liked mmf from Sierra Simone and I’ve heard good things about it.
