omg the audiobook read Logan’s POV with a Scottish accent, it was so nice to listen to I think that I was actually not paying attention to the story at times…
Overall, very cute, a little tooo rom-com like, missed opportunities to dive a little deeper. Perfect for when you want something with wanderlust and cozy chemistry. It felt like insta-love and so emotionally rushed?
My feedback is a little late, but I LOVED this book!!!! This book made me want to go to Scotland! I love the enemies to lovers trope and forced proximity, the tension was everything!!! I also loved the banter between the family and co-workers, I thought it was hilarious and well-written!
I loved Addie and Logan's romance with Scotland and with each other. Her heartbreaking history and his emotional trauma at the core of their personalities added depth to this delightful romance.
This is a 3.5 that I've rounded up to a 4
This book was cute. It was sweet. The characters were nice, but something fell a little flat in the MC's for me. I'm not super into instalove as a trope and this had a bit of that. To be honest, this felt like a huge love letter to Scotland and these characters were the vehicle to express that and got to fall in love as a bonus. I really did love the setting though, I love Scotland and dream about going back all the time. Being about a tour company, I knew there would be lots of landmarks and history and it didn't disappoint on that point. I do feel like we got more on the history of the land than we did on the personal history of the MMC. But these are all small things. Again, this was a sweet story but it wasn't something that made me feel more than that. Expect a slow burn with an element of instalove, opposites attract, and a road trip in a beautiful setting.
Thanks to NetGalley and Canary Street Press for the egalley. I've also purchased the audiobook of this book. I enjoyed that the dual POV had a narrator for each POV.
This book made me WANT TO GO BACK TO SCOTLAND. SPOILER ALERT: I did. 😝
It felt true to Scotland and funnily enough when I went the first time, I had a tour guide and I was like “that would be such an interesting trope to read!” So this was a *little different* in the premise but I still loved it all the same!!!
I can’t wait to read more by this author!!
Look, I kind of wanted to take the main character into a bar, sit her down with a drink, and be like look, girl. But even so, I really enjoyed this romcom, and I would definitely recommend it for anyone needing a Scottish romp for their romcom joy. Absolutely loved Logan, and was here for Addie getting everything together so that the two of them could enjoy highlands bliss. Do recommend!
So fun! What an incredible Debut from Kiley in Kilt Trip! I could not get enough of the scenery and my goodness the journey between the FMC and MMC was really such a delight to experience! Perfect for fans of Tessa Bailey and Trish Doller
I begin with this book made me want to go to Scotland, definitely a love letter to the country. Also, a dude in kilt, who doesn't love it. Let me get back on track, Addie is a travel consultant who travels to Scotland on a work trip, she was hired to help a struggling family-run tour company in the Highlands. Logan is the handsome, stubborn, kilt wearing main male character. He has his mind set on how his business should run and thinks he knows best. Addie and Logan bump heads over the future of the business and along the way they end up falling for each another. The banter is cute, the spicy scenes are spicy and the beautiful descriptions of Scotland will make you want to jump on a plane.
Cute and very Scottish. A perfect escapist romance read. I love books that make me travel to other places. This was cute.
This story is woven with bits of the history of Ireland, which added an extra layer for me.
Addie has closed herself off to keep from being hurt again, believing that if she let’s someone in, they will just leave her. But deep down she is desperate to belong somewhere, but she lets her fears keep her from speaking up for herself and fighting for what she wants.
Logan feels like he’s let everyone in his life down and that none of them believe he can succeed on his own. I think he is even more fragile emotionally than Addie is.
They are both so flawed and scared, but they are really sweet together. I enjoyed watching them start to build something between them, and ached when it seemed like everything was falling apart. And I was frustrated because if Addie had just spoken up it could have saved them so much heartache. But as someone who also fails to speak up for myself, I totally understood.
I am now on the lookout for more books by Alexandra Kiley, as well as more books that take place in Ireland.

I love loved this book. It was full of dreamy descriptions of Scotland, heartwarming side characters, and absolute real and flawed main characters that were easy to fall in love with.
Why did this book have me crying at 3am! I absolutely adored 'Kilt Trip' by Alexandra Riley. I went into this book thinking it would be cute and I'd learn a lot on Scotland's history and landscape. It was absolutely those two things and then some. The way grief was depicted in this book was so poignant. Addie's grief over her mother's death and the loss of her relationship with her father manifests as an avoidant attachment style. In her soul, she wants and seeks the comfort of stability, a family, and love, but she can't make herself believe she can have them.
Enter, Logan - the hottest, kilt-wearing, proud Scottish man ready to annoy her and sweep her off her feet at the same time. This man was everything. He's hilarious and attractive, but he's also so kind. He tries so hard to meet Addie where she's at emotionally and to reach out and comfort her. He envisions a whole life with her and falls for her so deeply it had me swooning. I was rooting for them both the entire time and I knew they would struggle, but that they'd be absolutely solid when the found their way back to each other.
Riley did an excellent job of creating engaging side characters as well! I loved all the folks in Logan's life and the way it felt like they jumped off the page.
This was a quick and fun read, but it also made me long to explore Scotland soon!
Thank you so much Harlequin Trade Publishing & Canary Street Press for the opportunity to read and review this eARC!
I absolutely enjoyed this book. The two main characters both feel strongly about their jobs, and so of course they clash. Eventually everything works out (spoiler? No, because hey, it's a rom-com), and we readers are along for the tour of delightful Scotland.
As someone who has Scottish in my genes as my Nana came from the Gordon clan on her father's side, I have always felt connected as Mum was big about honouring her Scottish heritage as she joined the Scottish Clan community and we went as a family to the Highland Games when it was in Auckland. Like Addie Macrae, my Mum passed away and we just now have the memories of Scotland. Addie works for a travel consultancy business, helping businesses all around the world with increasing and sometimes overhauling their tour companies to make more profits. Her latest stop is Scotland and a small family business belonging to the Sutherlands in the Scottish Highlands. As Addie comes in from the "outside", Logan isn't happy as he feels she is commercializing his family business and future. Can the pair learn to work together as an enemies-to-lovers relationship sparks alight? Recently I read an NZ fiction book called Corkscrew You by Catherine Robertson which was about a consultant trying to save a family vineyard and ended in an enemies-to-lovers relationship also. I felt that Kilt Trip by Alexandra Kiley had the same feels and is a book theme we do see often, but what helps Kilt Trip stand out is that Alexandra Kiley brings to life for readers - the Scottish scenery and attractions. If you love enemies to lovers and books set in Scotland, then check out Alexandra Kiley's Kilt Trip today.
Alexandra Kiley’s debut is so well done, I was hooked from the very first sentence. Addie and Logan have such incredible chemistry, I ate up every second they were on the page together. I’ll be rereading this one in the future!
Kilt Trip by Alexandra Kiley had well-developed characters and a plot that was engaging. This book was a great read. I highly recommend!

The cover is what drew me in, sadly the story not so much. Don’t get me wrong, it was a cute story set in Scotland which is so fun but it was SLOW. So slow. I really had to push myself through. I enjoyed Addie and Logan but felt like something was missing.
This story was so cute. I adored the setting as an aspiring traveler. Cute little rom-com. I will definitely read more from this author.
This rom-com is fun, but nothing special. I mostly enjoyed the setting as I had traveled to Edinburgh about six months prior to reading it.
An American in Scotland, say less! This book was anticipated read for me and it did not disappoint! We loved Addie and Logan, from insta-love to work place enemies! YES YES! I loved how they both fought tooth and nail to be apart but in the end love won! They found each other and each helped each other grow and learn from their issues. Oh and the setting, highlands of Scotland, and red hair, kilts, and just Scotland best I was hooked and have tried to get everyone else hooked as well!
