i mean.. he is Scottish, wears a kilt, and calls her 'lass'. *swoons*

Scotland is my favourite place I've ever travelled, and I think about going back all the time.. so I jumped at the chance to read this!

Addie and Logan meet under fall pretenses, have an immediate attraction... and then the next day they unexpectedly see each other again when Addie shows up to Logan's business, a Scottish tours company, as a consultant dead set on changing everything about how Logan runs his business. Addie wants to essentially change up all his routes to mostly only hit all the big tourist destinations.. but Logan's tours are very much rooted in the nostalgia of his childhood, in his love for his country, and in wanting to give people a more immersive and memorable experience. So they immediately do not get along.

the bickering was fun, the pranks pretty hilarious.

Logan is so earnest, so sweet and is always right there, waiting for Addie to open up and let him in.

Addie is grieving a loss that has stayed with her for years, and as she explores Scotland and allows herself to feel for Logan, we get to see her work through a lot of bottled up pain and emotions.

This had a wonderful balance of funny, emotional and sexy moments. I highlighted quite a few scenes, quotes and moments on my kindle.

honestly, I want to pack my bags and book a one-way ticket to Scotland...

DNF'd at 3%. I am not as much a contemporary girl as I am a fantasy girl. I may enjoy this in the future. <3

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing | Canary Street Press.

I had never had an insatiable urge to travel to Scotland until I read this book. Addie and Logan's story was a light-hearted, quick read that I enjoyed immensely. This was a charming contemporary romance that delivered some very satisfying spicy scenes paired with one of my favorite tropes (rivals to lovers).

I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves their romance with a side of adventure and travel.

I liked this one, it had some cute banter, character development and a heartfelt back story for our FMC.
Addie is tasked with helping Logan's family business turn things around, but this does not go smoothly and they butt heads quite a bit.
Through spending time together, the two of them open up to each other, and what their fears are and how that shapes them.
I like how close Logan's family was and how that juxtaposed with Addie's experience.
A solid read.

Wanna visit Scotland?? This book will fan that spark into a flame. It’s the perfect witty romcom mixed with a dash of history and deep emotion. Addie Macrae is a tourist company expert from the deserts of New Mexico whose assignment is to revitalize a struggling family-owed Scottish tour company. Logan Sutherland is a Scottish tour guide whose love of hidden gems found only in the magic of the highlands isn’t helping pay the bills.

This was such a delightful story. Logan and Addie have a beautiful connection that’s more than just physical (but also - yay for yummy spicy scenes!). Both have emotional scars and abandonment issues to overcome. Logan is not your typical MC - he’s so intentional getting to know Addie’s heart, and Addie is the one to keep her distance. This book will definitely make you crave a deeper connection with the world around you. Can’t wait to read more from this author in the near future.

Audio Notes:
Absolutely fantastic narration. The authentic Scottish accent and smooth performance provided an immersive experience. Pacing and diction were well done. I would definitely recommend this audiobook to romance readers.

This book not only delivers a charming contemporary romance, but also doubles as a heartfelt ode to Scotland. Alexandra masterfully interlaces Scottish traditions, history, and cultural nuances throughout the narrative, achieving a seamless blend that feels both enchanting and natural.

The story centers around Addie, a pragmatic and driven professional specializing in revitalizing old tourism enterprises, and Logan, a nostalgic Scotsman dedicated to preserving his family’s tour business. Their initial clashes in the workplace set the stage for a romance laced with slow-building tension, close encounters, and a touch of an adversaries-to-lovers trope. Both are determined to convince the other of their respective business visions.

The pace might decelerate midway as the author delves into rich descriptions of Scottish landscapes and traditions, but this only enhances the vividness of the setting—it’s as if you’re right there in Scotland, joining Addie and Logan for New Year’s celebrations or visiting the majestic Highland cows.

Ultimately, this novel is a delightful blend of romantic tension and deep emotional connections, making the characters relatable and the romantic payoff satisfying. It’s also packed with compelling reasons to visit Scotland, with the allure of kilt-clad men topping the list. Whether you’re a romance aficionado or a lover of all things Scottish, this book is a wonderfully engaging getaway.

For fans of a scottland setting book, with romance and adventure. This will give you a scottland landscape with history and romance! The two are instantly attracted although not instant love, and the two have to find there path to each other. Logan is stubborn and addie is still greiving her mother. The description of scottland was wonderful and it made me feel like I was there, and made me want to go visit. You could see th passion the writer has for scottland! We see these characters grow while in beautiful scottland

I wanted to like this book. I wanted to read this book. I wanted to finish this book, but I didn’t. And I HATE when I DNF a book. 🫣😭 I requested this book bc it sounded interesting, and let’s be honest… romance in Scotland… men in kilts… yes, please. It seemed right up my alley and yet I just couldn’t get into it. I tried- I really did! I picked it up and put it back down so many times. I tried reading it in the car, I tried reading it in the bath- I even tried reading it on an international flight, and every time I lost interest within a few pages. Honestly I’m kind of discouraged bc I REALLY did want to read it. I ended up reading 8+ other books in the time I was also trying to read this one. The other reviews I read seem pretty good, but I just never felt engaged when trying to read this. Something about it always felt flat to me. I’m giving it a star rating of 3 partly bc I have to give it some kind of rating and bc what I read wasn’t bad- it just didn’t hold my interest. Also, if I’m being honest, I feel bad doing 2 stars.
I appreciate the publisher and NetGalley sending me an ARC of this and I wish I was able to send back something more positive.

Not my favorite debut, it felt very stilted and awkward but overall not bad. I would love to read more by this author.

4 stars!

I really enjoyed this one! It was cheesy but cute and I would definitely read another book by this author!

It was a perfect read for March too!

A good cozy ready, like an open door Hallmark romance. The only thing that could make it better would be listening to Scottish accents in an audiobook (I was picturing Sam Heughan reading to me as I read). If you are just looking to escape your reality this book would be a great pick.

This book is adorable.

Addie has been running away from her problems since her mom's death. Addie is a travel consultant. her job is to advise tourism businesses on best practices and what tours would draw in the most guests. Her latest project is a family tour business in Scotland. This is when she meets the hunky and broody Logan. He believes tours should make guests feel something. To prove Addie wrong, he creates a tour individualized to her history.

Why this book is amazing:
~Dual POV
~Overcoming past trauma
~Reconnecting with her mom
~Forced Proximity
~Slowburn
~Scotland

Thank you, Alexandra Kiley and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a very cute book! I enjoyed reading it and felt that both of the characters went through major developments. I enjoyed the found family aspect in terms of finding a place of belonging and people to rely on. The storyline with Addie's father felt a bit rushed, and I would have liked it to have been fleshed out more. Overall, I highly recommend it and will recommend it to those who like hallmark-like romance novels.

I loved this book!

As a girl with a Scottish heritage it’s my dream to go to Scotland. This book gave me a little of that.

I loved Addie and Logan and their banter. Such good tension leading to the spice. They were so likable and I loved both of them.

I knew I would enjoy this simply because it takes place in Scotland! Thankfully it turned out to be a very entertaining story as well. Addie landed herself in some hilarious situations and her sense of humor made me literally laugh out loud. Her banter with Logan was wonderful, and I loved every member of his family and all their coworkers.

I kept getting caught on Addie's job as a travel consultant. I think her job worked well for the plot, but it seemed a little scattered and more like an afterthought.

Overall, I enjoyed it because it took place in Scotland, but I don't know I would have enjoyed it much if it were in a different setting. However, it would make an excellent Hallmark movie.

Thank you NetGalley and Canary Street Press for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book does such a wonderful job of creating the atmosphere and making you feel like your in the characters' version of Scotland. I really enjoyed Addie and Logan for the most part, but I did think there was a lot of emotional turmoil that resulted in Addie in particular changing her mind pretty drastically that felt frustrating to read, but also Logan felt frustrated by it too so it still fit within the context of the story.

'Kilt Trip' by Alexandra Kiley is exactly what you're looking for when you want a sweet Scottish romance.

I started and restarted this book multiple times due to the nostalgia it invoked when reading about all the historical sites we visited while in Scotland right before the pandemic. This author brings a feeling of authenticity to her descriptions of these sites and reverence for preserving these heritage sites.

I teared up multiple times when the main female character reflected on the grief of losing her mother while also experiencing the distance and lost time of a living parent who is so lost in their grief that everyone and everything gets left behind (I’ve experienced this and it’s so devastating)! I definitely understand the tension and stubbornness of both characters wanting the other to understand and compromise but know that things have to fall into place before you can come together and make a relationship work. I absolutely LOVE this book and can’t wait to read more books by this author.

Kilt Trip is a fantastic debut with memorable characters and animals!

Addie has always had a penchant for seeign the world- taking after her late mom's passion. She's currently a travel consultant sent to Scotland, not her favorite place as it holds meaning to her Mom. Logan loves his Scotland homeland and all it's charming quirks. He's always wanted to run the family business after his Dad. But, Dad has brought in a travel advisor to help gain money- his worst nightmare. Even worse? It's Addie, the traveler he met at the local bar the night before.

Listen, this cover looks adorable but don't let it fool you! Kilt Trip packs an emotional punch. You've got Addie's mom dying and her Dad grieving on his own time, in his own way, basically shying away from his only daughter. Then there's Logan and his feeling of "not good enough" as his family hires Addie. But then there's the hilarious found family and cows. Love the overall setting and the whimsiness of Scotland! Alexandra Kiley's Kilt Trip is a fantastic debut that has me craving more from her soon.

This was a cute enemies to lovers romance read. With all the atmosphere of the highlands this book takes you on a virtual tour of the Scotland minus the actual man in a kilt (we have to settle for one  in the pages). Filled with history and humor this adorable romance will inspire you to book a trip to Scotland and remind you that often taking a risk with your heart is worth it, true connection is the much more fulfilling than superficial and sometimes going off the beaten path is the way to true discovery and appreciation for a place. Definitely a fun ride.
