This book makes me want to go back to Scotland immediately.

While this was a romance book with butterfly moments and spice, there was lots of heart, emotions, and character growth. I loved it!

im not sure what i was expecting but this was SO fun and so exciting. it was a little different, quirky, and unique from what i typically go for, although all the well-loved cliches & tropes were there and excecuted in a wholesome, fun manner. it was fast-paced, with a delicious rivals to lovers banter from the start, and i enjoyed seeing their relationship blossom. i was a big fan of the character development and the healing that occurred, although i would've loved to see it more in depth. but again, this is a romcom, so the surface level is pretty surface level. which is fine because the swoony, spicy romance with tension made up for it. LOVED! and would definitely recommend if youre looking for something light hearted and fun.

Cute story but I’m sorry to say I was extremely bored. I found the writing to be very choppy, and I was confused about a few parts regarding Addie’s career/the decisions made regarding the family business.

Ultimately, I almost DNFed a few times but pushed through. The spicy scenes were great and I loved the tension, but I just couldn’t connect with this one and felt very bored throughout. The plot just kind of dragged and I wasn’t wowed. Cool setting, great chemistry between the characters, but overall I didn’t love it.

Thank you NetGalley and HTP for this ebook in exchange for my honest thoughts!

This book quickly made my Scotland obsession skyrocket! The character development in this story was absolutely perfect. I wasn’t expecting to feel such emotion while reading this book. Addie and Logan quickly became one of my favorite book couples I’ve ever read. Love the enemies to lovers/ rivals to lovers trope.

This is the slowest most repetitive burn. Over and over there’s longing glances and tiny touches but neither of them really makes any progress towards anything besides that. Some of it is cringeworthy and overly stereotypical. And some of thbe Scottish elements come across like a google search for “things Scotland is known for” but don’t seem super authentic. I’ve read better. There’s a few scenes that feel very forced and come out of no where. Like the motion sickness. I feel like Addie is very whiny about her past, at least internally and doesn’t make any moves to try to help herself. Addie seems tremendously immature. Both Addie and Logan are unprofessional in the most infuriating ways that make it almost unbelievable. Too many alliterations. There’s not enough viable chemistry between the main characters and their spicy scenes fall flat. The first one taking up far too much book space than it deserved. I’m not usually one to call a book “too cheesy”, usually I’m all for it, the more the merrier, but this book was far too cheesy for me to swallow. They’re both fully grown adults but they lack so much confidence. I would have even loved a bit of a love triangle with one of the brothers or a visit to the distillery that the brother was fixing up. Seems strange no one else is helping him with that project.
When you get to the end, it seems that a lot of Addie's issues with her father have been built up in her mind and she's been out of touch with reality. Over all, the plot is unrealistic and the characters do not act their age. The scenarios in the book are unrealistic even for fiction

Addie Macrae is a travel consultant; she travels the world helping tour groups revamp their businesses. Her latest job is in Scotland consulting for Heart of the Highlands Tour Company. Scotland holds a special place in her heart as it is her late mother's favorite destination. While there, she hopes to not only help the struggling tour company avoid bankruptcy but also visit some of her mother's old haunts. Once she meets The Heart of the Highland Tour Company's owner, Logan Sutherland, she realizes this is going to be much harder than she thought. Even though he is a sexy kilt-wearing Scotsman, he is stubborn and isn't open to change despite his parents' insistence that the tour company gets some updates. Logan isn't interested in providing a tour just like everyone else with stops at gimmicky souvenir shops and the usual destinations; he wants to provide a more off-the-beaten-path tour with a lot of heart. While this is all well and good, the tour company needs to make money, so Addie hopes to find a compromise. The more time they spend together, the more sparks fly and the more time Addie is in Scotland, she starts to address her mother's death, a topic she has been avoiding head-on. Kilt Trip by Alexandra Kiley is a romantic debut that had me dreaming of planning my own trip to Scotland.

I absolutely adore books set in Ireland and Scotland, so I knew I'd fall in love with the setting of Kilt Trip. Kiley did not disappoint. Readers who enjoy a good armchair traveling session will especially appreciate this one! I also really enjoyed the budding romance between Addie and Logan, not to mention his Scottish brogue which felt extremely authentic. If you love a heartfelt romance with some depth as Addie does address issues of grief, you'll enjoy Kilt Trip. I can promise, like me, you'll be scanning for some airfare deals to escape to Scotland.

I started Kilt Trip on a whim when I couldn’t sleep and became so addicted that I finished it within a day.

I absolutely loved how the author established the relationship between Addie and Logan. Stoking their interest in each other right off the bat gave their snarky office banter and lingering glances so much weight. I couldn’t get enough. The sexual tension literally KILLED me and Logan is top tier. I love him.

I also really loved how the author had Addie navigate her grief. There was so much emotional depth in the photograph scenes, especially. And that EPILOGUE??? Chefs kiss perfection.

Kilt Trip feels like such an underrated gem and I will be waiting patiently for the other two Sutherland brothers to get their HEA’s!!!

I loved the idea of the consultant and travel tour guide, I thought it was a unique storyline. I absolutely loved the setting, especially since they touched upon so many areas of Scotland and Edinburg. As someone who is visiting there later this year I was jotting down mental notes the whole time of things to explore myself. I would definitely sign up for one of Logan’s tours! Who doesn’t love a guy in a kilt 👀?
Would recommend to those you like:
- beautiful settings
- travel
- found family
- light steam

Addie Macrae, a travel consultant with wanderlust finds herself on a work assignment in Scotland, the one country she has been avoiding. Scotland holds a place within her not only from family heritage, but it's also one place her mother, who has passed on, talked endlessly about. Addie's assignment is to revamp the family-run tours of "The Heart of the Highlands" so they can come out of financial distress.

Logan Sutherland, set to take over "The Heart" when his dad retires, is adamant about keeping the tours focused on history and hidden gems, rather than crowded tourist traps. Logan is steadfast and strong-willed, and certainly won't let some outside come in and change everything that ever meant something to him.

Addie and Logan set an unspoken competition against each other to try and get the other to fold on making decisions that would change the company forever. Addie shows him possibilities of popular events really holding a crowd and bringing in the money "The Heart" needs to stay afloat, and Logan brings Addie on an adventure through his historical and meaningful tours, as well as a custom tour to help Addie connect to her mother's memory of why Scotland is so special.

I loved feeling like I was on the trip with Addie and Logan, exploring all that Scotland had to offer. I really enjoyed the office war they had going on, the pranks amongst employees, the family gatherings at the Sutherland's that made Addie feel at home, and the togetherness that spilled throughout the book. There also is quite a bit of "spice" to it that I personally skimmed over, but the emotions were definitely there.

What I thought was a wonderful message throughout was the focus of filling your cup with happiness through all the little moments. I find with a busy life that it's easy to get caught up on only thinking things are going well if there are big events. But really, all of these little joyful moments, no matter how small and quick they can be, that's what really fills your life and soul.

I really enjoyed this book. It is one of my preferred books now for a Scottish romance. I really enjoyed our main characters and how they come to grow together. I think the journey Addie goes on is one that many can relate to, and I love books where I can connect with the MFC and her journey. This book will spark some desire to either travel to Scotland or just travel anywhere while also making you want to go back home. Addie is so real, her worries and concerns are ones that at least I have had at one time. Addie though is still confident in her abilities and knows how to do her job and do it well. I will say however that there is more or less a third act break up and miscommunication between our MFC and MMC and thats always just frustrating no matter what.

This was such a FUN read! Addie is a travel consultant and meets Logan on of the tour guides as her new project in the highlands. Logan is, of course, wearing a kilt and drama and romance ensues.

If you're looking for an escape, a man in a kilt, or a really endearing mmc who just wants the real thing, this is going to be for you! The tours and exploration of the Scottish Highlands were an absolute delight as someone who has never been, but would love to go!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Canary Street Press for this ARC! I'll definitely be looking for more reads from Alexandra Kiley after this!

I now want to go to Edinburgh real bad! This book felt like a romance for Scotland, not just Addie and Logan.

Every character in this book was charming, even the supporting characters. Big Mac, Kevin., Elyse- they all got there moments to shine and I loved that. The character development of Addie was wondering to see. She had her own battles and things to work through and it was beautiful to be able to be along for the journey of that. I loved her and her story. Logan is a total heartthrob and I am here for it! This story was so lovely and has the perfect amount of spice, in my opinion . There wasn’t anything that felt too cheesy like it can be with other romances. I would recommend this to anyone!

I have only 2 questions for Alexandra Kiley:
1. Was Logan based on a real person?
2. Is that person single? 😂🙈

Kilt Trip reminded me of everything that I love about steamy rom-coms. I simultaneously couldn’t read fast enough and I did not want it to end. It did not matter that I know that this genre almost guarantees a happy end - the tension and suspense were so wonderfully done in this one!

Addie and Logan felt real to me and I was rooting for that on every single page. Though Addie’s life and family experience were nothing like my own, I could fully understand and empathize with her world view! I had an instant book crush on Logan (attractive, kind, family oriented man with a Scottish accent wearing a kilt - how could I not?!) and I think he earned a spot in my favorite book boyfriend collection! 😂

The tension building was impeccable. That first kiss had me swooning. Steam was perfectly steamy. And there was so much substance underneath it all. It wasn’t just a romance, it was a story of our universal need for connection, family, purpose. Not to mention the fact that this book just intensified my desire to visit and experience Scotland! I know whatever else Alexandra Riley writes I’ll be reading it!!! (I would not object to it involving Jack or Ried - Logan’s brothers) 🫶

Read this if you’re looking for
💙 great chemistry
💙 instant connection
💙 he falls first
💙 opposites attract
💙 men in kilts

A huge thank you to @htpbooks & @netgalley for my ARC! All swooning is my own!

Kilt Trip was just the book I needed to get over my meh reading slump! It was perfect-the setting, the enemies to lovers with on point banter and thick tension that turned into on fire chemistry. This book was so much more than just a fun read, it was also a love letter to Scotland and all the history, culture and people it has to offer.

Addie was a great female lead- she’s head strong and passionate about her work but personally she’s guarded and rightfully so and when she felt her walls beginning to crumble around Logan and she wanted so desperately to let him in easily but old habits die hard and you feel it. Logan was smitten from the very beginning with Addie even though he didn’t want to be he saw everything she had to offer professionally and appreciated it but he wanted so much more from her on a personal level. The way the two of them connected was awe-inspiring and they truly created something magical and rediscovered the feeling and the meaning of home.

Thank you @akileybooks @htpbooks and @netgalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

4✰ // Kilt Trip is such a fun, tender, and heartfelt book. i adored the atmospheric Scottish setting and historical influence with which the book is imbued. the romance between Addie and Logan is so tender (calling all enemies-to-lovers fans) and was definitely hair-twirl & foot-kick worthy, but i also appreciated that Kiley didn’t shy away from heavier topics regarding mental health, trauma, and grief, and instead approached them with a skilled and honest hand. i definitely recommend reading Kilt Trip to anyone looking for a heartfelt romance that enjoys books with a Scottish setting.

This was a sweet, fun and transported romance! I enjoyed being whisked away to Scotland and following both the emotional and physical journey of Addie and Logan's story. I loved the playful banter between Logan and Addie and was rooting for them from the start. This story had a lot of things I like in a romance novel: travel, adventure, heat, found family and spice!

Kilt Trip was another adorable romance that I devoured. It completely transported me to Scotland and I’ve never been there so I was happy to take this trip.

I appreciated Addie’s story and how she was dealing with grief, family relationships, and her future. I really related to a lot that she was going through.

Logan is just an amazing hero. He’s sweet and steady plus he looks great in a kilt!

The cover of this book is perfection. I fell in love with the entire Sutherland family. (Book 2, please!!)

Loved the epilogue, which is a must in a romance book in my opinion. This book is available now and I definitely recommend grabbing a copy. The audiobook is fantastic because Logan‘s Scottish accent is 🔥😍🔥.

Alexandrea Kiley’s debut novel, Kilt Trip, was a delightful and charming read! Addie is a travel consultant hired to help a struggling family-run tour company. Logan is a kilt wearing tour guide and the company owner’s son. Addie and Logan butt heads from the start, both unwilling to compromise on their opinion of what will save the business, that is until the sparks begin to fly. I loved the chemistry between the MC’s— it was heartfelt, steamy and did not lack emotional depth. Kiley’s vivid descriptions of the landscape, ancient castles, and historical landmarks transported you right to the Scottish Highlands. Oh and the hot, kilt wearing tour guide with a thick brogue accent definitely helped.😏

If you didn’t have Scotland on your adventure list before, you will after reading this! 👋🏻✈️

I loved this book! I will be purchasing it for my library and recommending it to my patrons. As someone with Scottish heritage, I have a special affinity for books set in Scotland, and it's clear that Alexandria Kiley shares this love. The history included in the story and the descriptions of the highlands and countryside were spot-on and brought the setting to life. I particularly enjoyed the author's portrayal of the hills, castles, villages, and waters of Loch Ness, which brought back many fond memories of my trip to Scotland. Her description of the roundabouts really resonated with me - my daughter did all the driving when we visited, but it was still quite stressful!

The chemistry between Addie and Logan was intense right from their first meeting when Addie intentionally crashed Logan's tour. I was rooting for them to work things out, but I do wish they had communicated a wee bit better towards the end.

Overall, I would highly recommend this novel, especially if you're a fan of Scottish books or have a soft spot for Scottish men in kilts!

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for allowing me to read an ARC of this wonderful book!
