Love the storyline and the characters in this book. I was 100% all in for they whole book. Highly recommend to those who love a good read with supernatural and intrigue.

This was really good and I was surprised by some of the twists at the end. The history of the building and the especially the two apartments on the 5th floor were very interesting and intricate. I loved the relationship between Rosie and Max.

Special thanks to NetGalley for the advanced reader copy of this book. This was a book that was part ghost story and part thriller and kept me guessing the whole time. There were a lot of moving parts and everyone seems guilty at some point or another. I usually don't care for paranormal activity within books, but felt that it was done well and didn't interfere with the story. Well done Lisa Unger!

Thanks to netgalley for the ARC! While this book was fast-paced and had lots of twists and turns, I had trouble getting into it became it just didn’t seem realistic to me. I feel like it went more horror than mystery or murder mystery sometimes, which was fine, but not my usually fare. The main character Rosie is a good one who makes you care about her and what’s happening. you form doubts and suspicions with everyone as you read, which is good mystery fodder. I just couldn’t love the ending because it was a stretch. I did like the flashback to the couple in the 60s because that built suspense. Overall, I’m glad I read it and can see it being popular. It’s just a bit of a stretch for me and my imagination, FYI profanity, some violence, sexual situations but not too crazy graphic

Rosie and Chad Lowan are scraping by in their New York apartment. Rosie is a modestly successful author and Chad is a struggling actor. Top that with caring for Chad's uncle without family help in his last stage of his life, and they are stressed. Even though the uncle has a daughter, he surprisingly leaves his expensive, luxurious apartment to Rosie and Chad. All seems like a dream, until Rosie becomes suspicious of the neighbors who appear to know everything about them and all the people who have died while residing in the building. Rosie begins asking questions to find the truth before she too becomes a victim.

A captivating page-turner with lots of plot twists. I could not put it down. Lisa Unger masterfully connected all strings of the story to a dramatic ending.

I was sucked in instantly, so many twists and turns and my guesses were always wrong, I love when a book is able to do that. Read it in one sitting, couldn't stop!

Yet again Lisa Unger does not disappoint with this dark and suspenseful thriller set in New York City in and around an old "haunted" mansion where an unusual number of deaths have occurred over the years. Rosie, a writer and Chad her actor husband, inherit an appartment in the Windermere. But strange things have happened there and when two people die just after they move in, Rosie wonders if the answers lie in the supernatural. Her past (her father a preacher and her mother a card reader, her syster a voyeur), which she tried so hard to get away from comes back to taunt her. Her neighbors seem so nice but is everyone, including her husband just a very good actor? Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this much appreciated arc!

This book is part ghost story, part mystery.
Rosie and Chad inherit a very expensive apartment in NYC from Chad's uncle upon his death. The apartment building, the Windermere, has always been said to have a bad history with murders, suicides and the unexplained. When Rosie and Chad move in everything seems perfect. But things change quickly.
This book held my interest, although I figured out who the villain was pretty quickly.
I did like how Willa's story (from the 1960s) was woven in.
Overall, a good read, if somewhat predictable.

This thriller is a bit ghost and a lot of murder. An actual crime author is writing a book about the crimes and haunting in their historic New York building. Within the story is the tale of Willa set in the 1960s (that was my favorite.) So excited that the Lisa Unger I have loved since her first book is back with this one! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this much-appreciated arc!

This was the first book I've read by this author and I really enjoyed the way she wrote this novel. I was very intrigued by the mystical aspects of the book and the psychological ramifications that stayed with the main character throughout the events that happened. Will definitely recommend to others!

Read this novel in one day! Fast paced thriller with shades of Rosemary's Baby. I definitely recommend for lovers of mystery, suspense, and supernatural excitement. You can't go wrong when you meet The New Couple in 5B.

I have never read a Lisa Unger book, but after finishing The New Couple in 5B I immediately went on Amazon to purchase more! A young couple inherits a 5 million dollar apartment in NYC with a sordid history. After moving into the apartment shocking events continue to happen. The writer leaves you questioning the motives of all characters until the very end, unsure if it's a serial killer, ghosts, a cult, or something worse.

I highly recommend this book. I could not put it down.

I enjoyed this new mystery by Lisa Unger, even though it reminded me almost too much of Rosemary's baby. At times I thought it was a new take on the old story. It was a little predictable but a fast and fun read.

The New Couple in 5B is another great book by Lisa Unger. I was surprised by the paranormal aspect of it - I'm a big scaredy cat, but this was not too scary and it made sense with the story. The plot keeps you guessing but it all wraps up nicely at the end.

I read everything that Lisa Unger writes! I enjoyed this book - such a quick read with lots of suspense. I'm not into ghosts and the supernatural but even though that was weaved in through the book, it was a decent read. Looking forward to purchasing this for our patrons. OMG-- I could not put this book down--it was soooo compelling. It started out kind of slowly, but then quickly the action ramped up and there was just no relief from the story, which is why I could not stop reading, I had to find out what would happen next. This book was a mystery, a romance (maybe), and a psychological thriller all rolled into one story. I don't want to give anything away, so let's just say that the reader may think he/she may have found the solution...but wait there is more, and then the reader may think she/he can take a breath...but wait there's still more. Lastly if the reader is a Rosemary's Baby fan, he/ she will love this book--the author does give credit to that book as inspiration--I must say I liked this book better (and I don't like horror type books)!
