How would you feel if someone tried to convince you that a “hit” had been put on your life? Hopefully, if a member of the law told you, you’d be smart enough to believe. But, in fiction, there are TSTL characters who required proof to smack them upside the head, which is sort of what happens here. Sort of.

I have to say, I appreciated the book more after the irritation of the beginning segued into a more relatable story mid-way through the novel. Things were much better!

I have found a new author! Loved everything about this story. Addison and Gabriel are fantastic. Great story, great villain and great characters all around. I was sucked in from the beginning and felt like part of the team. I love the banter between Addison and Gabriel, they are a hoot. Well done and looking forward to the next one.

I had not read anything by this author, but will be looking for her first book in this series as well as the next one. Dr. Addison Monroe is content with her practice and her two children and is not looking for love. Detective Gabriel Logan has relocated to Flamingo Cove, knows that his boss doesn’t approve of him, but he is a good cop, he gets results. Logan receives a tip that a hit is out for a local female doctor. He finally learns that the hit is for Dr. Addison Monroe, but she doesn’t believe someone could want to kill her and it must be a mistake…that is until her car is forced off of the road into a canal and she almost dies. Now she is listening to Logan. She isn’t interested in dating, but there is something about Logan that calls to her. Logan has never felt this way about a woman, but knows that he could jeopardize her life and his job if he acts on the feelings that he has for her. He must find out who wants her dead, but the confidential agreements she has with her clients make the search more difficult. We all want the happily ever after. Addison has sworn off love, but Gabriel is determined to protect her and in the process fall in love.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Addison and Gabriel. Addison is psychologist and Gabriel is a detective. Gabriel received a tip about wanting a hit man to do a hit on a lady doctor. He figured out that the hit was on Addison. With her help they started going down a list of suspects. Somebody ran Addison off the road. There is an attraction. They each have problems but together they fall in love.

This was a fantastic book. I loved the characters and the story. Their were a couple of hot scenes. It just put it all together

Review:
I absolutely loved reading this book! The primary characters, Logan and Addison, are truly fantastic. There's a consistent, slow-building, and intense romantic plot brewing between them. I was totally captivated by the storyline and I could barely put the book down - I just had to find out what happens next! The ending left me craving for more.
