"I don't believe in angels, but I imagine one would look something like Ophelia standing here in the moonlight."
Ticket To You follows fashion journalist Ophelia Brooks and outdoors journalist Adam Abrams. When they quite literally bump into each other at a company holiday party, Adam ends up spilling red wine all over Ophelia's vintage Dior dress and to top it all off, she later hears Adam saying awful things about her behind her back.
But when Ophelia discovers her job is on the line, she's forced to reach out to Adam for help. Ophelia now has to travel across Europe with a guy she's less than fond of in hopes of saving her career.
✨ Ticket to You is a workplace romance that gives you enemies to lovers, one bed, and forced proximity.
The characters were great. Despite the length of this book, they had a lot of depth to them. Ophelia is a strong and independent woman. She's the type of person who has faced so much adversity in her life but instead of letting it ruin her, she worked hard and preserved. Adam is sweet, thoughtful, protective, and caring. Adam's siblings and dad were also amazing and it was super sweet how they welcomed Ophelia with open arms.
The overall plot was good but was extremely rushed. Ophelia and Adam fell way too hard, way too fast and it felt a little unrealistic. I also wished there were more challenges in their relationship. Once they got together, I feel like everything was, for the most part, smooth sailing. I think a bigger roadblock between them, would've kept me more engaged in the story.
Overall, It's a sweet story with lovable characters. I would recommend this book to anyone who prefers very minimal spice or anyone trying to get out of a reading slump.✨
Thank you NetGalley and Florence Fields for sending me the eARC for this book.
First thought: An adorable enemies to lovers, workplace romance that is wholehearted and gives you the warm fuzzies.
Ophelia is a journalist at a fashion magazine. She followed her dreams after her grandparents passed away in her early 20s. She sold everything and risked it all to move to NYC to pursue her dream and she is making it. She just launched a new travel series that she pitched and piloted but now with budget cuts it’s all in jeopardy. To prove she’s worth keeping she gets one more chance.
Adam is an award winning journalist for his work in the outdoors sports space. He comes from a well off family that breeds doctors, he has 4 siblings and guess who’s the only disappointment? This year has been tough, the magazine is struggling and his friends are being let go. His editor wants to introduce him at the holiday part to her friend but once he finds out she works in fashion he questions her journalistic skills. Little did he know she overheard him and now he has to endure the wrath of Ophelia.
Fate pairs them togther on an epic week long adventure in Europe. This is Ophelia’s last chance to keep her dream job, she won’t even let Adam get in her way. They will have to learn to work together, trust each other and find a way to get along.
This is a classic feel good read that is told in a dual perspective so you can connect with both Adam and Ophelia. It is so well written you will be transported with them on their journey for both work and love. This is a perfect summer read.
Book launches on July 23rd 2023 but you can pre-order now! Go grab it friends. 💜💜💜
I received an Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review of this book**
Ticket to You is a fluffy little rom-com story about Ophelia and Adam, rivals at a magazine company who work in opposite departments. Ophelia in fashion, and Adam in extreme outdoor sports. They have an older mutual friend who is persistently trying to play matchmaker with them, only intensifying their resistance. However, when layoffs threaten Ophelia’s job, she is forced to embark on a 12-day whirlwind trip across Europe to prove her worth, which sets up the stage for the inevitable sparks to ignite.
Ophelia is the embodiment of a typically relatable heroine, except she’s unusually tall. She comes from a poor family and has worked her way up to achieve success and financial stability. Sort of. She’s something we can all relate to. She’s got a passion for fashion and a staggering fear of heights, and she refuses to like Adam. Only because she overheard him talking about how anyone who works in the magazine department was probably vapid.
And so begins the drama!
Luckily, Adam is even taller than Ophelia. But she doesn’t realize that hiding behind his broody and aloof nature are keen observational skills. Skills that he uses to woo our girl in the best ways. Florence Fields skillfully crafts these characters, endearing them to readers in such a way that makes us instantly root for their love story to prevail.
There was nothing I disliked about this story, though one tiny aspect I thought could be improved was the small incident of establishing Ophelia’s fear of heights. The moment seemed a little too unbelievable in my opinion. But, maybe I’m just clueless to those who suffer from a fear of heights. Perhaps having her feel nauseous while looking out the window of the skyscraper she works in would have been more effective. I know this is an incredibly minor complaint, but it just took me out of the story just a tiny bit.
Overall, Ticket to You was a pleasant read, it had everything that cotton candy romances are meant to be. It may not leave a long-lasting impression, but it delivers on a that guaranteed bite of an enjoyable love story.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an arc copy of this book to read and review. All thoughts and comments are my own.
This was such a sweet and fast pace romance. I loved the enemies to lovers trope. I absolutely loved this and my only complaint was that I wish the book had been longer. Seriously couldn’t get enough of Adam and Ophelia.
If you’re loving for a quick romance read the n pick this up because I couldn’t put it down.
5 stars!
Ticket to You was picture (or postcard) perfect. An enemy to lovers story that transported me to every beautiful location these two traveled to. It was near impossible to put this book down and the ending gave me all the teary-eyed, fuzzy feelings I love from a romance novel.
Ophelia and Adam’s first run in with each other was exactly that- a full on collision. The two journalist who lived and breathed their jobs were being set up to meet by a mutual friend at a work event which, from the get go, didn’t go as planned. Sparks did not fly as expected and the two went their separate way only to be reunited a few months later on an important work trip that had both of their jobs at stake. An overseas adventure that forced the two polar opposite journalist into close quarters which led them to eventually getting to know one another better and feelings quickly developed into a whirlwind romance. Adam revealed he was leaving his job to start his own magazine which would separate the two for longer than they were willing to part. Ophelia is faced with tough decisions regarding what she loves and who she loves and with some guidance and reflection she follows her heart to the one who stole it.
I absolutely adored this book and look forward to more in this series in the future!
I received an advance review copy from NetGalley for my honest review. I requested the book because not only is the cover adorable, but the synopsis itself drew me in. I love enemy to lover stories, forced proximity and a dash of travel for good measure!
If you follow @authorflorencefields (and you should, she’s a graphic design wonder!), she says she “wants to write books that remind you of 00s rom-coms.” And she’s done JUST THAT. Ticket to You reminded me of the best of them…think Devil Wears Prada, Bridget Jones Diary, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Two Weeks Notice, The Proposal.
A note: just like the romcom’s of our youth, the story is light on spice. I know, I know…but I would like to point out that I didn’t miss it. And I read a lot of Kindle Unlimited, if you know what I’m talking about. But even if you appreciate spice, I think you should give this a read! I loved it. And if you appreciate a good PG-13 rating, this one is right up your alley.
I can’t wait to read the next book by Florence Fields!

This enemies to lovers, forced proximity rom-com made me feel ALL the feels! Such a light hearted, quick read. Adam and Ophelia were made for each other! I cried quite a few times at how sweet and genuine the scenes were. The family relationships, the character development, the feelings! I can’t recommend this book enough, especially if you love happy endings
This was a delightful little rom-com, perfect for summer (though it has me itching to travel again!!). This is a light-hearted and quick read that is a lovely pick-me-up of cute and happy days.
Adam and Ophelia start their journey with a disastrous meeting and Ophelia overhearing some really unflattering comments about herself from Adam. Not surprisingly, she’s a bit put-off. Of course, he’s finding himself more and more smitten with her, thinking about her daily, even though their next run-in isn’t for 3 months. The two end up running around Europe for a week together ~alone~ and both are surprised by what they learn about the other.
I really enjoyed this story, even though I agree with some other reviews that said the appearance of the l-word seemed pretty sudden once they admitted feelings. I thought the journey to those feelings was really natural and sweet. Once the affection was there, it just felt like there was a big leap to “I’m yours.” That’s ok, though. When it’s right, it’s right!
Ophelia is spunky and strong and I love that she’s a tall girlie. I love stories about petite little pixies who are the cutest things, but it’s great to see that us tall girlies are represented, too. Adam isn’t the grump he seems like. He’s just quiet and observant, and actually really deep. He’s easy to like once you can see inside his head.
Tropes:
Enemies (ish - more like annoyance) to lovers
Workplace (ish) romance
Fade-to-black rom-com
One bed (twice!!!)
I absolutely loved this book from the very beginning. The story, the spice, the banter, the longing looks; I didn't know I was missing this exact book from my life until I read it. I think one of the first aspects of the book that made me feel immediately 5 stars was the fact that the FMC was a tall girly!! As someone forever part of the tall girls' gang I loved this. You never really get FMC over 5'8" so it was refreshing to see the tall girl get the tall guy for once. This book was so fun to read and had me giggling one minute and shaking my fist at the sky the next because I felt a rollercoaster of emotions. If you're looking for a good fast-paced book with both the vibes of summer and winter traveling, then this book is right up your alley. This book is a workplace enemy to lovers with funny banter and comforting moments. I really enjoyed this book and Florence Fields' writing style and can't wait for her next release!!
Ticket to You by Florence Fields was a super cute rom-com.
I had the absolute best time reading it and never once did I lose interest in the book.
The author did a great job painting the setting, so it was easy for me to visualize the scene played out before me.
A great story told in an amusing and authentic way.
I enjoyed every second reading this book.
I loved the characters; who are real and likeable.
There was so much to love. I enjoyed the character development and growth.
A cute, quick and easy read.
I will definitely be on the look out for more by Florence Fields.
“I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
Thank You NetGalley, Florence Fields and Victory Editing for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for giving me early access to read this book! Ticket to You was a really fun, charming read, and something I absolutely loved was that the characters got to travel around Europe together! So many romance novels tend be stagnant in location, based around an office, a home town, etc, so the fact that the characters get to hop around and go on adventures together really captured my enjoyment.
I flew through this in one sitting! I was so captivated by this wonderful travel romance. My only "complaint" is that the author did such an incredible job building heat and tension, I wanted it spicier!
I would like to start with i JUST finished the book. The file is still open on my computer and i usually collect my thoughts a bit more before writing a review but oh my goodness this book was so sweet there are still tears streaming down my face. I will absolutely be raving about this until my friends are so sick of me that they get the book and read it themselves. Ophelia and Adam are just the perfect balance of snarky, romantic, and persistent. i couldn't get enough of this and ended up reading the book all in one day. Gemma is such a great side character for how she interacts with both of the main characters, she's so genuine and motherly and you can just tell she wants nothing but the best for the both of them and will stop at nothing until they're both happy. Ophelia is so determined and strong but still so bright and bubbly and Adam perfectly balances that out with his outward quiet broody persona that covers just how much he worries and cares for those around him. I will absolutely be rereading this.
oh this was such a cute book. it was fast paced and a romcom, two things i absolutely needed and was in the mood for!!!! i love how straight to the point this book was, there was no unneeded/unnecessary bits in this book. it was written very well and i loved the dynamics of ophelia with adam's family.
my favorite part was THE POSTCARDS! i'm sobbing. he wanted to remember every moment of his trip with ophelia, im emotional stop. i also loved seeing both of their bonds with gemma. I WAS CRACKING UP WHEN THEY BOTH CALLED HER AFTER THEY KISSED LOL. that was adorable.
overall it was a very cute book and i would absolutely and entirely reccomend to anyone whose looking for a cute short romcom... oh and it also has one bed (;
thank you netgalley for the arc !!!
A great enemies-to-lovers, workplace romance. Ophelia and Adam had a rather terrible meet cute, so the resentment towards each other was excusable. Then catastrophe stroke on Ophelia and she found herself in dire need of a fellow journalist travel buddy. Consequently the forced proximity and the one bed situation could work their magic. Ophelia and Adam got to know each other and warmed up to each other that helped the ever-present attraction to grow exponentially. Their moments together were charming and tension-filled. The epilogue was so sweet and enviable. I really liked the traveling part and the time spent with Adam’s family as well.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me a copy of the book.
I read this in one sitting. Forced proximity? One bed? Hate to love? I ate this up. It’s the perfect summer rom-com. 4.5 stars from me!
I was not sure what to expect when I found out that this was Florence Fields first book however I will say that I could not put the book down while reading. I loved it !
Anyone fans of a (fr)enemies-to-lovers workplace romance this is the book for you! This is a multiple POV story centering Ophelia, a fashion journalist and Adam, an outdoors journalist during a work trip to Europe. Tropes found in this book are forced proximity. workplace romance, and one bed.
The author knew how to be very descriptive I felt as if it was very easy to visualize the characters and locations.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of anything Christina Lauren or Emily Henry. I can't wait to see Florence Fields journey as a writer !
The reason my rating is not any higher was because I have noticed some spelling and grammatical errors however that might be due to not having a final copy.
Lastly, Thank you NetGalley and Florence Fields for the advanced copy of this book <3 I can't wait to have a physical copy as a trophy for my shelf.
Book Review coming to my tiktok soon (@tailss)
Ophelia and Adam both work at Hoffman Publishing as writers for separate journals. Ophelia is a fashion guru journalist, while Adam is an outdoor adventure journalist. Completely opposite one another, but learn to rely on each other as jobs are on the line. Will their work trip be a success? Go up in flames? Or will there be sparks and something more?
This book is the quintessential romance of the summer. A perfect example of "giggling and kicking my feet" at some of the scenes. I loved watching the growth in the relationship between Ophelia and Adam, The ending had me in happy tears!!
I give this book 4.5 stars! I will posting this review to Instagram @dr.cs.bookworm on July 9th, as well as on Amazon once the book is released!
Ticket to You by Florence Fields is a delightful and engaging romantic comedy that follows the unlikely pairing of Ophelia Brooks and Adam Abrams, two journalists with seemingly opposite personalities and interests. When a disastrous set-up brings them together, they become enemies, vowing to avoid each other. However, fate intervenes when their publishing company faces layoffs, forcing them to work together to save their careers.
Fields skilfully develops the chemistry and tension between Ophelia and Adam as they embark on a week-long work trip in Europe. Against the backdrop of picturesque scenery and adrenaline-filled interviews, they discover unexpected connections and shared experiences. The author's vivid descriptions bring the settings to life, immersing readers in the journey alongside the characters.
Ticket to You is a heart-warming and entertaining story that explores the themes of serendipity, personal growth, and the transformative power of unexpected connections. With its lively and relatable characters, witty banter, and a sprinkle of romance, this novel is a delightful escape into a world of adventure and self-discovery.
Ophelia and Adam are “book couple” perfection! Both giving and taking at the right moments. The story was great with witty moments that have you smiling as you read them. As a reader, I’m not necessarily looking for a new storyline as I am writing that “comes off the page” and feels real. You get that with Ticket To You. Wonderful read!
