This book is labeled as an enemies to lovers novel however I think it missed the mark. There was not enough conflict between the main characters.

*spoilers ahead

Ophelia seemed to hate Adam instantly. Adam didn’t seem to ever dislike Ophelia so that’s where the enemies to lovers disconnect was for me. They didn’t seem like work nemesis’s at all. Their relationship was fast paced (not unrealistic) however I would have liked to see a stronger build up to that because the instantaneous love was kinda cringe. (It needed that conflict and HEAT to pack a bigger punch)

On a positive note, the author has a true gift for imagery. Her descriptions are colorful and it was easy to picture every character and scene. Also the epilogue was cuteeee. Needed more of THAT.

Overall, this was a quick and cute-sy read. It felt a little unfinished and rushed but I still enjoyed most of it. I look forward to seeing the growth from this author.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for an ARC of this debut novel!

This book is SO cute.

Official review - 3.5 stars.

Ophelia and Adam are polar opposites. Ophelia is a fashion journalist and loves beautiful things. Adam is a journalist for the same group, but writes about his passion - the outdoors and extreme sports. After their first meeting goes as disastrously as it possibly could have, is there any way for the two to make it through a work trip together?

I loved Adam and Ophelia, they were both so lovely but totally misguided on each other. I enjoyed the sweet story, though did feel like there could have been more depth, I think romances work best when there’s a real LOW point before the happy ending.

I loved the banter back and forward, and learning more about what motivated our MCs. This book just felt like a warm hug, and is also a nice quick read! Absolutely something that would get you out of a reading slump!

I’m going to be honest. I had a lot of trouble getting into this one. I thought the entrance to the story was a little jumbled and rushed as the characters were introduced. It wasn’t until Ophelia and Adam were actually traveling for their job that I thought the story began to flow. Overall it was a cute story and I most enjoyed the character’s interactions with Adam’s family.

My rating: 3.5 stars

I’d like to give a big thanks to Florence Fields and NetGalley for giving me a chance to read this ARC.

**Spoiler warning**

Things I liked:

I loved the dialog between Adam’s siblings and Ophelia. The playful jabs and joking around felt really organic and brought his entire family to life even though they were only a small part of the book. I also loved how Florence Fields used a lot of description throughout the book to effectively paint a scene of their travels for the reader. I also loved Adam’s little postcard tradition and as a fellow traveler I might start doing that myself!

Things I disliked:

The main thing I disliked was that the entire plot felt a little rushed. Don’t get me wrong a lot of times romance novels are these swept up romances that are on a short timeline, but it just felt like too much too fast. Maybe it was the culmination of Adam leaving for a three month trip that pushed Ophelia to make so many impulsive life changes paired with the fact that in a matter of 24 hours Adam’s mother had pulled a 180 on her opinion of Ophelia, but I think the entire plot just felt like everyone's lives were rewritten in the span of a few weeks.

Overall it wasn’t my favorite book, but it was an enjoyable quick read.

A dual POV rom-com which features enemies to lovers, forced proximity and the beloved one bed trope!

'Bed. Not beds. Not this again. We both scan the room. And then once more. No couch'.

Synopsis
Ophelia is a fashion journalist, Adam is an outdoors journalist, with an interest in outdoorsy sports.. slightly differing interests! When they first meet at an event, everything goes wrong - he spills wine on her vintage Dior dress, she hears him call her 'vapid'... not a great start.

But when the company starts to do lay-offs, Ophelia needs to work to save her job. The only person available to help with this mission? Adam.

As they travel to places in Europe, Ophelia's dislike of Adam waivers, and she realises they have more in common than she thinks.. plus he is a sweetheart underneath, despite the brooding appearances.

Thoughts
Even though short and sweet, the characters were well and truly thought out with a lot of depth given, alongside the descriptions of the places they visit on their European trip.

I'm a sucker for enemies to lovers and the one bed trope, and this did not disappoint. The little touches with the postcards were adorable!

'I'm yours Ophelia. I think I've been yours since the moment we met'.

Can't wait to read more of what Florence writes!

- Workplace Romance
- Forced Proximity
- One Bed

Then you will absolutely love this book!!!!!!

I devoured this book in one sitting. Turning page after page to see where it was going to lead I love a good workplace romance and romcom book. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes as well. I fell head over heels with this storyline and the two main characters we follow. Adam is dreamy 🤌🏻The characters were well developed and the dialogue was perfect. You could envision all of it just with how descriptive the details were.

This is such a great summer read or anytime read when you want a fun little romcom to lighten & brighten the mood.

This was a quick read for me. The main characters grew together throughout the story so well and the chemistry was THERE. Cute, fun cozy and romantic read.

Well when I started this book at 2 AM was I expecting to be awake until 4 AM because I couldn’t put it down? no not particularly. Let me just say though that I freaking loved it! I love that “philly” (i loved her nickname) was such a character. I enjoyed the development of their relationship over time and the fact that Adam realized quickly that she was a fashion wit but actually a human being. I wish we could've got to learn more of the family situation but overall the book was addicting and I could not put it down.

I fell in love with this book! If you’re looking for a rom-com to check out, definitely grab this!

Ophelia is a fashion journalist who attends a holiday party where she clashes with Adams who is an outdoors journalist that spills red wine on her dress. From there, they are enemies but we all know that love is always in the air.

They end up on a work trip together that ends up changing both their lives.

Adams's siblings and dad were great and I was happy to see his mom come around. They made Ophelia feel like she had a true family.

Adam is simply amazing. He’s so caring, the wonderful birthday surprise, standing up to his mother and the postcards.

I could not put this book down. If you love enemies to lovers, one bed, or workplace romance then you will love this book.

Thank you, NetGalley for the EARC! As always, my review is my opinion and thoughts. This review will be shared on my Instagram (@Alexandriavwilliams_) shortly.

I absolutely loved this rom com! There was so much information regarding the location and the characters. The author absolutely knew how to be descriptive, and it made the book 10x better! I loved how the feelings between the characters improved a lot throughout the story. The siblings giving the family feel to Ophelia who didn’t know the feeling was such an emotional yet intense part of the book. I’m glad they gave into their feelings for each other. The postcards were a great touch to show the emotion that Adam felt and that was what got through to his mother. Adam, being the soon to be best book boyfriend, jumped into action once he heard of Ophelia’s birthday was the next day and had a birthday surprise ready for her. It was perfect!

Overall, this book had me hooked from the moment I started reading it as I finished it in one day.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a great rom com, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, one bed, coworkers to lovers, and a crazy family dynamic. This would be one that I would love on my bookshelf one day and I’m sure many others would feel the same when they read it as well.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book after not reading a rom-com in a hot minute, but I'm happy to say I LOVED it! Official rating will be 4.5 stars.

It was a great enemies-to-lovers, workplace romance. Ophelia, a fashion journalist and Adam, an outdoors journalist, have officially made my heart melt. This book centres around these two taking a work trip to Europe together. The descriptions of the locations were intricate and I loved all of the interviews they did with both fashion icons and adventurists.

I tend to find rom-coms all similar to one another in a way but I happily found this one to stand out for me. With the enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity and one-bed trope, it had all I needed. I think both characters had great depth behind them, which is sometimes lacking in this genre.

The only reason I rated this book less than 5 stars was because I did find a small amount of spelling and grammatical errors.

I would recommend this book to lovers of The Spanish Love Deception, The Hating Game and anything by Emily Henry.

Very excited after reading this ARC to get my hands on a physical copy one day!
