Joanna doesn't come home after she went to see a stranger who stood up to her and her daughter, Scarlet is worried about her. Joanna is kidnapped but who did it?
Partly psychological suspense partly serial killer this has echoes of *In Her Eyes* by Sarah Alderson with some crazy twists and turns. I was glued to my phone for two days. Read it
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.
Thank you to #Bookouture #NetGalley and #ElisabethCarpenter for the ARC of #TheFamilyonSmithStreet. Prepare a day or two for an indulging binge: The Family on Smith Street is a captivating psychological thriller that is hard to put down. Mom didn’t come home after a night out with a friend – so she said. Joanna was actually out to meet a mysterious stranger who ultimately stood her up, but then, just before arriving home, Joanna is kidnapped. This gripping thriller kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters, not particularly likeable, are extremely well constructed, built like an onion with so many layers it’s easy to lose track as the layers are pulled back at the end. This is one book that literally kept me guessing up until the very end. Fantastic read!
This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the author and the publisher. Mystery and intrigue carry this unusual story. Scary at times. The characters are not truly likable. Difficult to read. That being g said, this talented author has written a page turner.
