This whole series, Sheets, Delicates, and Lights are so beautiful, both in story and in illustration. It's such a fun idea for a way to explain and deal with death, in a way that doesn't make it seem scary or upsetting. Love it.

This book is a feast for the eyes!! 😍 I read this once before, but rereading it made me appreciate this graphic novel even more.

𝘚𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘴 follows Marjorie Glatt who hates ghosts and laundry. But after her mother's passing, she was forced to manage their laundromat and keep their family afloat. Wendell is a ghost who doesn't feel like one. As a boy who died so young, he hasn't come to terms with being a ghost just yet.

This graphic novel is sweet and wholesome but it is also... moving. The plot was well-written and the pacing was just right for this story. Wendell and Marjorie are so likeable and adorable! I had so much fun following these two characters and I really enjoyed their character dynamic. I also liked the nuanced way in which it discussed heavy themes like grief, death, and acceptance. Both the dialogue and panel compositions worked together to make the emotional scenes hit the right spots. It's not a book that will leave you bawling your eyes out, but it certainly will tug at your heartstrings.

The art was so beautiful that every turn of the page feels like such a delight!! ✨ Each page is bursting with pastel pinks and violets and blues— which is fitting for a graphic novel with ghosts, laundry, and Halloween as its main elements. This color palette establishes the atmosphere and complements the story nicely.

Overall, 𝘚𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘴 is a cute and surprisingly poignant graphic novel about grief, friendship, and death. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series ASAP!! Thank you so much NetGalley and Oni Press for this copy!! 👻

“Sheets” has got to be one of the cutest graphic novels I’ve ever read!!! It’s such cozy, heartwarming read , but one that also discusses important themes like grief, loneliness, and mental health.

This was such a cute and sweet and interesting story. The plot is a bit weak but the art style is amazing and i loved the use of colors. The characters are lovely especially Wendell and all the ghosts.
I liked it a lot!

This was not my usual choice of book but I find myself really enjoying it. The graphic novel style will really appeal to the target age group as will the content of the story. I love the idea of a story of two worlds taking place in a launderette.

I really enjoyed the graphic artwork in Sheets. So many cute details throughout!

The comical elements related to ghost life, such as the ghosts running around in sheets and meeting for support groups, make for a nice balance with the heavier emotions presented among the grieving Glatt family and Wendell, the young ghost who visits their laundromat.

Meanwhile, Mr. Saubertuck’s character as antagonist is ridiculous and easy to dislike right from the start. Overall, it was both moving and entertaining. I look forward to seeing how this series progresses.

Cute and bittersweet. It has some Bob's Burgers vibes, what with the struggling family business, weird rich guy hanging around, children left to handle a bunch of stuff alone, and the main character being somewhat of an outcast because of all that. Sheets isn't quite as cheerful throughout, but it also does have a ghost and antics.

I enjoy it. I think the deus ex machina (I suppose deus ex spiritus is more appropriate in this instance) resolution felt a little abrupt, but I was happy to see an uplifting resolution. Overall I liked the theme of being able to find peace and friendship despite your circumstances.

This was super cute! I loved the colors and the illustration style. This would be the perfect book to read around Halloween too.

This graphic novel has such beautiful illustrations! It felt like such a cosy read and I read it cuddled up in a blanket in front of the fire which felt like the perfect reading scenario for this. All of the illustrations are so detailed and beautifully done 👻

The story is so sweet and lovely. I cannot wait to read more of this series as a pick me up, it feels so wholesome to read.

This book was so adorable. I absolutely loved it, the characters were very well thought out and this book deserves a 5-star rating.

Sheets is an interesting story about loss and loneliness. The art is nice to look at and the colours really set the tone of the book. Overall a positive experience, my only gripe being that the antagonistic characters were over the top to the point I found them a little annoying.

Beautiful art and friendship stories are my weaknesses, so I enjoyed this. The story is centered on death (both of a parent and a child) and grieving, but it also stays humorous with the sheet ghosts and the very over-the-top villain. The brevity made the whole story an easier read. I did wish their was a little more weight(?) to Wendell and Marjorie's friendship, but it didn't fuddle the narrative too much. Sometimes small-town vibes and an everything-will-be-okay ending is just what you need.

I'm surprised at how popular this is because it's just fine. Maybe I've missed the finer points but it's just a story about a girl running a laundry place while processing the grief of losing her mother. Based on the cover and buzz I thought it would be a fun light read but the tone is quite heavy so be aware and maybe wait a bit before picking this one up based on where you are mentally. I'll only continue with the series if I get to read them as arcs otherwise I'm fine with with stopping here.

I thought it was a lovely quick read. Perfect for fans of ghosts and coming of age. It’s a little sad but not to bad and I really enjoyed the art style!

This intro to the Sheets series was an absolute delight and a wonderful example of a low-stakes cosy graphic novel. Not only is the artwork wonderfully light and breezy, but the story has a calming vibe despite its serious subject matter discussing the death of both a parent and a child.

I personally adore this kind of storytelling style! I loved the sketch style illustrations and it really helped to capture this atmospheric of the book. It was a bit confusing at times to read but once I GOT it, I really enjoyed it. It was so cute and such a touching story of friendship. It handled grief and mental health incredibly well

There’s a lot of heavy ideas in this one, to help kids grapple with the idea of death, parental neglect (and alluded to drinking problems), and bullying within a safe space. The ghosts themselves are not scary, but cute. I’m excited to get to more of the series.

I picked up Sheets on a whim while scrolling through the NetGalley site. I was instantly attracted to it because the illustrations are in my favorite color scheme 💕🩱💜🥏
I decided to read it because my daughter is entering into the graphic novel world, and since I’ve never read a GN myself, Sheets seemed like as good as any to try out.

For a middle grade novel, this one was heavy! Marjorie is the MC and the sole employee at her family's laundromat. I guess technically her father also works there, but he has become nothing more than a living corpse after the death of Marjorie’s mother. Marjorie feels invisible in her home and at school, until she has an unlikely run in with a ghost named Wendell.

What I loved most about Sheets was the beautiful illustrations! This is worth the read if for nothing else than to see the pictures 😍
