A story of second chances and new beginnings. It was an okay story to get lost in but not very memorable nor anything new. It seems as if Steele is churning them out very quickly without depth. Thanks to netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publishing Company for providing me this Digital Advanced Readers Copy of the book!
Boy, this is a tough review to write. I used to read Danielle Steel religiously. It has been a very long time since I have, and I was really looking forward to this story. I spent much of the story feeling a bit bored. So many things were reiterated over and over in the story, just using different words that I was thinking that their must be errors in the story. I wasn't even sure I liked some of the main characters, including Kezia and Kate. Did they redeem themselves at the end? Yes, to some extent. Full of major events, both real and imagined, I just had a hard time getting into it.
I have to admit the premise for this book is never too far from my mind as being a reality. It's sad the world we live in centers on tragedies like New York and 911.
Following the death of her beloved husband, Kezia Cooper Hobson decides to leave her home in San Francisco and move to a luxury penthouse in Manhattan, where she’ll be closer to her two adult daughters.
As she watches the 4th July firework display from her terrace, Kezia is shocked to see smoke and flames pouring from famous landmarks across New York City. Her neighbour, the famous movie star Sam Stewart, is also aware of the crisis, and watches in horror as the terrifying drama unfolds.
Determined to offer their assistance, Kezia and Sam hasten to the site and swiftly become involved in the rescue effort. Shocked and traumatized by the events they experience, Kezia and Sam bond in the days and weeks that follow one of the worst nights the country has ever known.
What follows is a summer of healing and change, and the discovery that it's never too late for dreams to be born again
I felt there was way too much description on the past history of Keiza’s life at the beginning, so much I grew bored. I thought that Kate came off as so unlikeable I started to not care what happened to her and Jack. The romance between Keiza and Sam was nicely done. However the bombing in NYC and the terrorists left a bad taste in my heart, I skipped the numerous pages on this and the apprehension by law enforcement. Definitely a trigger warning should be noted.
Kezia wants to begin anew after her husband’s death. Though her grief is palpable and the love she lost is so great, she moves to NYC to be near her two daughters. It is a great read about loyalty, finding the truth and knowing others have suffered as you have. During a NYC disaster similar to 9/11, Kezia relies on her past career as a nurse to help others with her new penthouse neighbor. Kezia finds her calling, a new love, and helps her daughters realize their dreams.
Never Too Late is a great love story about taking chances and making changes in your life at any age. The two main Characters Kezia and Sam meet each other unfortunately by a disastrous event that hits New York. They are both widowed and they are neighbors and they decide to go volunteer to help the victims after the horrific attack. They start talking to each other every day and become good friends and eventually they fall in love with each other. Kezia has two daughters Kate and Felicity and Sam has a Son John. They are all looking and experiencing changes in their lives as far as in their Personal life, Careers, and Relationships. This is a great book that shows how a tragic and disastrous event can help bring people together and how if they work and help each other then they can come out stronger and more hopeful after a disaster happens. It has a great message about never losing sight of your goals and dreams for yourself no matter how old you are. Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group -Ballantine for giving me the opportunity to read and review a ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.
I enjoyed the slow build between Sam and Kezia and rooted for them as their relationship heated up and cooled. Danielle Steel's novels are always an escape, and I look forward to her next release! Thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to preview #NeverTooLate

Loved the idea of being able to start over at any age, but didn’t love the story. It was a little boring for me. It was pleasant, but not very innovative in the storyline. It is however, a feel good read that would be a nice beach read.
I need to come to terms with the fact that I just don't enjoy Danielle Steel's books. Her books got me into reading so I have a hard time letting go of them. This book was exceptionally bad. There was barely any dialogue, jumping around from character to character, it just seemed badly planned.
Thanks to Net Galley for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review as always, all words are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read my favorite author again. And to the publisher of course. I am never disappointed by a book of hers. I have always loved reading her work and i know in the future i will continue to love them.
July 4th, a horrible attack happens in NYC worse than 911 to my thoughts. It kept me intrigued until the very last page. The characters were so amazing and the horrible attack that resulted in thousands more lives lost new relationships & friends were also part of it. There’s romance, drama, tragedy, family dynamics. I will always recommend a Danielle Steel book i will always want to buy a copy of her books.
Kezia is starting a new life in New York after the death of her husband and the sale of his company. Right after she arrives a tragedy happens on the 4th of July and the city is bombed by a small group of radicals from Texas. Through the tragedy, she meets her next door neighbor, Sam, a famous actor. They volunteer together and becomes friends. Kezia’s daughters are finding their way in the world as a model and a writer. The good in the book is the relationships and people finding their way. The bad is the bombing plot. I felt it was gratuitous and I skimmed the chapters about the culprits because it was not easy to read. There would have been a way to tell the story without adding another wound to New York City.

I love Danielle Steel and thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was captivating, inspiring and intriguing. She creates such interesting and compelling characters in her stories & I enjoyed this one so much!
Danielle Steel never disappoints. This novel brings widowed Kezia across the country to be closer to her daughters and restart her life. After losing her husband, who was many years her senior, she is able to start fresh. She meets her movie star neighbor Sam, because they share a balcony. When tragedy strikes NYC, both Kezia and Sam chip in to help any way they can.
I love the connection between Kezia and Sam. Two different people, from different worlds, forming a long-lasting friendship. This was a quick, engrossing read.
Thank you NetGalley and Random House - Ballantine for my gifted copy of this book.

🩷 Never Too Late by Danielle Steel 4 ⭐️ Review 🩷
Pub Date: March 5th, 2024
Thank you, NetGalley, Random House Publishing, & Danielle Steel
🩷 Breast cancer mention
🩵 Leukemia mention
🩷 Talks of divorce
🩵 Talks of a dad not wanting his child
The storyline was well written but overall it felt really slow maybe because I wasn’t fully prepared for the way Danielle Steel writes. I really enjoyed the way she puts characters together! 🥰 Also, love how she gives representation to other real life things in her books like cancer, divorce, parents no5 wanting to be in their children’s lives because things like that make a story more realistic! 🫶🏻 This is my first one of this author but won’t be my last. 😉

NEVER TOO LATE
Danielle Steel
Romance / Women’s Fiction
Kezia and Sam are new neighbors and finding themselves attracted to each other. When tragedy hits they both throw themselves into volunteer work. Will the tragedy pull this new relationship apart or throw them closer together.
This new book is quite possibly my favorite Danielle Steel book so far. Filled with romance, drama and tragedy all mixed together, this was my kind of book. I would give this one a 5 out of 5 stars.
