"Never Too Late" is a novel by Danielle Steel that follows the story of Kezia, a wealthy widow who moves to New York City to be closer to her daughters. While the book initially seems predictable, it takes a surprising turn when Kezia forms a friendship with her neighbor, Sam, another wealthy widower. The characters are well-developed, even the unlikable ones, and the story leaves readers contemplating the concept of "what if." This book is recommended for both longtime fans of Danielle Steel and new readers.
Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for an advance copy of this book. I appreciate it!
I never read the synopsis of a Danielle Steel book because I often find that it gives too much of the plot away. Therefore, this book completely surprised me with its terrorist attack similar to 9/11. I didn't enjoy that storyline and found it depressing. I read a Danielle Steel book for an escape from the real world and this plotline was anything but that. However, I did enjoy the personal stories of the characters, which were a much needed contrast to the terrorists.
Overall, unfortunately, this book wasn't for me, which is very rare for a Danielle Steel book since she's typically one of my favorite authors.
Thank you to Netgalley for granting my wish for Never To Late in exchange for my honest review.
Danielle Steele AGAIN gives us a wonderful story and interplays 3 couples alongside a harrowing terrorist event in New York City. It is so well written and is an enjoyable read. Kezia, the main character, has been widowed for 5 years and moved to New York to be closer to her grown daughters. Little does she know what is ahead for her, her family and new love interest.
It’s a great story with beautiful descriptions of the people, places and major and minor life changing events.
I’ve read a lot of Danielle Steel books -some good, some not so good. Never Too Late falls into the latter category. The premise of a widowed woman finding a new love and life starts off with a horrific, terrorist disaster in NY City. Our 2 soon to be lovers volunteer to help with survivors and bodies. Interjected into the story is the quest to find the terrorists and hold them accountable. Here’s where things start to go wrong. The capture of the terrorists is too tidy. The couples children are now brought into the mix and then, we’re thrown back into the investigation of the terrorists and then, back to the story. A quick memorial for the victims and back to our lovers. It just didn’t do it for me. Not great character development or depth. Thank you to NetGalley for an advance copy of this book.
This was a really good book. It focused on more than one character. Couples that were starting over after losing the ones they loved. Couples who are young and marrying their first love. Lastly couples that were starting over from failed relationships. It was heartwarming and romantic. I am grateful that netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.
Kezia is a wealthy widow who decides to move from the West Coast, where she shared a life with her husband to the East Coast, specifically New York. Shortly after her move, as she is settling into her new penthouse, tragedy strikes, and she is a witness to an event reminiscent of 9/11. The characters were amazing. I loved Kenzia and Felicity from the start, but Kate seemed like a spoiled, selfish, jealous brat. I still don't know how I feel about her.A bit of Steel’s tendency to be repetitive with back story details has creeped into this book, but the storyline remains strong, and the two main characters are likeable and engaging.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book
Absolutely adored this book. Danielle Steel has always held a special place in my heart with the way she brings the story to life, and Never Too Late is another fantastically written piece. The book was very entertaining and I loved that the main character was able to find love through mutual empathy.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a *mature* (ie older in age) next door neighbor love match. Happy reading!
Thank you, Net Galley and Random House Publishing Group, for an ARC of Never Too Late for an honest review.
I have to tell you, Danielle Steel has done it again. I go to her when I'm in a reading slump, and she ALWAYS pulls me out of it. So I'm good.
I loved this novel. Kezia had moved to NYC. A week later, on July 4th, tragedy happened, and NYC was bombed at several different locations. That night, as she was watching the Empire State Building burn, she met Sam, her next-door neighbor. I won't tell you anymore except that she has 2 daughters, Kate and Felicity, and Sam has a son John. Highly recommend this inspiring new novel by Danielle Steel!
i loved this story of starting over in life and finding love again. This is a engaging story of Kenzia who has lost her husband and sold everything including her shares in his company. She is a widow determined to make the most of her new life so she moves to New York to be close to her daughters. As she becomes friendly with a neighbor she rediscovers feeling she had let go long ago and starts a journey to find out more about herself and where life will take her. She finds herself embracing change and moving forward in life with joy.
I loved the vibrant setting of New York as told by the author. The charcters are richly drawn and well matched. The theme of independence of a single woman and starting over was appreciated by this reader. Kenzia does not dwell on her loss. She moves forward in life and takes a leap of faith that gives her great happieness. A wonderful well crafted story that was enjoyable to conclusion as all of her books are.
Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity. My review opinions are my own.
In this latest read we see how each person handles life issues. Only one solution is to figure out ways to accomplish their goals.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and the opinions expressed are my own.
Never Too Late is another hit from Danielle Steel! It is a story of how a tragedy can brring people together and realize that they have the strength to do what they thought they couldn't do. And to realize that you're never to old to find happiness and true love again. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and recommend it wholeheartedly!
I had forgotten how much I enjoy Danielle Steel, but thank y’all for reminding me how fabulous a writer she is with the novel Never Too Late.
Ms. Steel starts off wrapping you up in the storyline from the first page with Kezia leaving her life in San Francisco and flying to New York after the death of her husband. Kezia’s daughters, Kate and Felicity already live there and looking forward to their mother’s arrival.
The three women discover that change is a good thing and that it’s never too late for their dreams to come true.
This was an incredible story of hope, courage, love and new beginnings.
I throughly enjoyed Never Too Late.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have more Danielle Steel books to read.

When your life changes and you move to start a new life and this triggers life changes for other people you know. Does this happen because of something you’ve done or is it just the domino effect? A catastrophic event starts the change for most of the people in the book, this was a great read!
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. This book was an easy, breezy, short summer read, perfect for a beach read. The story takes place in New York City during the summer, it involves Kezia and Sam who live in adjacent apartments in a luxurious high rise, who meet when a tragedy unfolds in the city, and they are involved in responding and helping out in the aftermath. The story involves their budding relationship and also involves their grown children’s’ relationship issues. The book was very enjoyable for a quick read involving beautiful, rich, intelligent , affluent people , perfect escape summer reading.
Against the backdrop of New York City which had just witnessed another catastrophic event, Kezia and Sam joined forces in life and love to help those in need. They were neighbors in adjoining penthouses that shared a privacy hedge and on the Fourth of July, as they were admiring the sparkly fireworks, they witnessed a tragedy of epic proportions. They quickly decided to leave the safety of their homes and raced to the scene to lend some assistance. This was the beginning of an emotional and magical relationship that neither of them had anticipated. Kezia was starting over in New York City to be closer to her daughters and Sam, a famous actor, was there to be closer to his son. I admired their commitment to give back to their new community and Kezia, a nurse, was contemplating going back to work. Her move to the city brought her the new beginning she was searching for and a romance with a man who was a dream come true. I loved Kezia’s daughters, Kate and Felicity, and it was fun to be a witness to their romantic adventures. Sam’s son was just as handsome and successful as his father and he had his own dating woes to worry about. Happy endings always make me smile and give me hope and even though the story began with sadness and despair, I knew that Ms. Steel would bring happiness to Kezia, Sam and their families.
Middle aged widow Kezia Cooper Hobson has finally sold her home and moved from San Francisco to New York City, where her two adult daughters live. Shortly after the move, Kezia meets neighbor Sam Stewart, and the two connect over their need to help others in the wake of a horrible crisis.
I loved Kezia and Sam. I loved the feeling of possibility, that life is full of surprises, and that I'm really not too old to find love! 😂 This is the first Danielle Steel book I've ever read, and I need more. I love the character development and all the good feels from this.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
This was a great book. The author took their time and gave the reader a visual perspective of living in New York. It starts off with Kezia a woman who recently lost her husband due to COVID. Desperate for a new start she moves to New York for a change of scenery and to be closer to her daughters.
The story shared painful events that brings Kezia to a new love Sam (who also happens to be a movie star)! Their past brings them closer to finding love in one another. Bring their families together, and realizing that it’s never too late.
enjoyed book was very much a uplifting story of old Steels book always deliver ; very good author Have enjoyed her stories since I was young!
Never Too Late by Danielle Steel Family drama with second chance romances and the courage to make major life changes. It is an very enjoyable read.
Thank you to Danielle Steel, Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine, Delacorte Press ,and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.
This wasn’t my favorite Danielle Steel book but it was a good story about what another 9/11 attack might be like. It was often repetitive and I felt like skimming over a lot of parts, where what was said had already been previously stated in the last paragraph. But nonetheless it was a good story with a hopeful ending.
