Danielle Steel delivered as always! This books brings us the story of Kezia who moves to the big city of NYC to start fresh and join her daughters.
This books tells the story of a second chance at living life and coming together as a family. It was a wonderful read. Some of the backstory details were a bit repetitive, it didn’t take away from the story at all, but probably could’ve done without them being repeated so much.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book ahead of release in exchange for an honest review. All opinions stated are my own.
4.25 stars out of 5!
I really enjoyed Danielle Steels latest book Never too Late. This was a quick read and was action packed the entire novel. I enjoyed all the characters in the book, especially Kenzia. This book takes you through various relationships and we get to see people fall in love and take chances. The ending did seem a little rushed and I was left wanting more! Can we get another book Danielle and follow the 2 sisters please?!
Kenzia lost her husband 5 years ago and decided that she needed to leave San Francisco and move to New York to be closer to her daughters and for a fresh start. She buys a penthouse and quickly gets to meet her new neighbor after tragedy strikes. The rest of the book takes us through Kenzia's new relationship/life and we also get a picture of her daughters and their relationships.
Overall this was an excellent book and I really enjoyed reading it. I am looking forward to more Danielle Steel books in the future.
Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for granting my wish for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Danielle Steel brings us the story of recently widowed Kezia who decides to make the move to New York City to be closer to her daughters to start fresh. While admiring the view at her new apartment, devastation occurs right in front of her. With neighbor Sam, they head to the scene and are instantly put to work helping out. As Kezia and Sam get to know each other better and bring their families together, close bonds are formed.
Danielle Steel gives us a story about second chances for everyone. It shows how change can be scary as well as exhilarating and freeing. Each member of both families find unexpected changes in their lives. Danielle Steel shows us what can happen when you are brave enough to be honest with yourself and take a chance. As you follow along, you want to know what happens to each member of Kezia and Sam's families.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, Delacorte Press for this privilege.
I absolutely loved this story and once I started I wasn't able to put it down. "Never Too Late" never slowed down or made me feel disengaged from start to finish. In the end, I couldn't help but get the warm fuzzies and feel happy for all the main characters.
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for providing me with an advanced copy.
Cheers and "Happy Labor Day."
Never Too Late tells the story of Kezia, a middle-aged extremely wealthy widow, who moves from San Francisco to New York City to start a new life near her daughters. At first, the book appears to be typical Danielle Steel stuff with the overly redundant descriptions of her two daughters, who are totally different from each other and of course, Kezia herself, is blond, trim, and looks far younger than her 59 years. Just as the reader decides, “Here we go again,” the book takes a jarring turn and grabs the reader for almost the remainder of the book. Kezia meets her neighbor, Sam, also a wealthy widower and their friendship forms the core of the book. By the end, the story returns to what one expects from a DS novel, but this was an enjoyable read. The characters were, for the most part, well drawn out and even the unlikable ones were likable. Kezia’ s daughters had their own issues to work through and the backdrop of the story ( no spoilers) really leaves the reader with some heavy thoughts of what if? Definitely recommend for both long time Danielle Steel fans and new readers alike.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and auto, Danielle Steel, for granting me an advance copy of this book in return for my honest opinions
We didn't learn a whole lot about Felicity's guy, Blake, but he seems like a great father to Alex and like he truly loves Felicity
The characters were amazing. I loved Kenzia and Felicity from the start, but Kate seemed like a spoiled, selfish, jealous brat. I still don't know how I feel about her.
Am so happy Kate finally woke up! Won't give a big spoiler but it's about time!
Kenzia is a great Mom to Kate and Felicity and deserves happiness and success.
Love the ending, but would love a spin off book Danielle.
Five stars!
Recommend.
This book was such a great easy read, all about having the courage to make major life changes especially when you may be scared to try. Kezia's husband passed away and after 5 years she decides to move to New York for fresh star, her grown daughter also live there so it will be a chance to spend more time with them.
She buys a penthouse and doesnt even get everything moved in before tragedy strikes New York, she meets her neighbors and helps volunteer through the tragic events, which helps her make new friends along the way.
There is alot of drama between her daughters, one of them has alot of issues to work through and finally does that,. Once she does that her life improves dramatically.
This book is about taking chances and falling in love when you least expect it, I truly loved that family aspect of this story. Danielle Steel is an amazing author who pulls at the heartstrings.
There isn't a book by Danielle Steel that I do not enjoy and this one is no different. In Never to Late we meet 2 people that meet doing a national crisis. I could not put this book down. Finished it 2 days. Thanks again to NetGalley for advanced copy for a honest review. Look forward to reading her next release.
This latest novel by Danielle Steel is a bit of a departure from her usual offerings. It combines classic elements of her standard themes and writing style with an ominous backdrop.
Kezia Hobson is seeking a fresh start. After a long, happy marriage, she has been widowed for five years. On the cusp of her 60th birthday, Kezia moves to New York City to be closer to her two daughters and to explore new possibilities. As is typical of Steel’s protagonists, she is attractive, intelligent, youthful for her age, and wealthy. Kezia is just settling in her new penthouse when the unthinkable happens on the 4th of July…another terrorist attack of the magnitude of 9/11. In the aftermath, she, along with her neighbor Sam Stewart, offers their services in response to the horrific toll on people and property.
As the story unfolds, Kezia and Sam, a well-known film star, develop a relationship that surprises them both. He encourages her to return to nursing, a profession she loved, but sacrificed when she married her husband. The theme that it is “never too late” to pursue a dream or have a second chance at love is woven, not only in Kezia’s story, but also that of a new acquaintance and her eldest daughter.
Overall, I enjoyed this novel and found it a quick, entertaining read. A bit of Steel’s tendency to be repetitive with back story details has creeped into this book, but the storyline remains strong, and the two main characters are likeable and engaging.
My thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for the privilege of reviewing this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher and talented author. This is a character driven novel which moves quickly. It is shorter than most of Steel’s books. The story of romance and tragedy is almost unbelievable. Enjoy.
