Kezia has just relocated to New York City and is in a gorgeous penthouse apartment. Her next door neighbor is a famous actor. Hedges on their balcony separate their outdoor space. It's the 4th of July and their are on their respective balconies watching the fireworks. A bright orange explosion occurs near the Empire State Building and other locations that is obviously not part of the planned fireworks. Being a retired nurse practitioner, Kezia volunteers to help at a site of explosion. Her neighbor, Sam, tags along.
What do these 2 characters have in common? Will Kezia's 2 daughters like Sam and their mother involved in a relationship?
At the beginning of the book, I wasn't sure I wanted to read about another terrorist attack in NYC. But, this book is about resilience and relationships, what one has to do to get through and grow from events such as these.
This is a Hard Hitting Women's Fiction. I really loved the characters, and I loved getting the story from point of view from several different characters. The characters all changed so much from the beginning of the book to the ending of the book. I really loved reading this book. Please check triggers before picking up this book because it could trigger some readers. If 9-11 book upsets you then you should skip this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
Enchanting and heartwarming read about second chances. The plot kept the pages flying.
Many thanks to Random House and to Netgalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
I haven’t read anything from Danielle Steel in years and was excited to read and review Never Too Late.
It was your typical Danielle Steel love story with a tragic story in the middle of it.
I liked the characters and getting to know them but the New York tragedy I honestly didn’t care for.
Kezia Cooper Hobson is a very down to earth person even though she married and lived an extravagant life and found her life drastically changed at an early time in her life. Moving across the State she purchases a property that only the elite could afford and watches a horrific tragedy unfold with the neighbor who splits the other half of her unit and they reach out to see what they can do to help the poor victims. Ultimately finding happiness together.
A mother and her two daughters are at a crossroads in love and life when a terrorist attack in New York City brings with it some perspective and a sense of urgency in their lives.
I hadn’t expected the terrorist attack as part of this story and so did not enjoy the book the way I had anticipated. I thought two of the story lines developed too quickly while the third developed at a frustratingly slow pace. All in all, fans of Danielle Steel will enjoy this book, but it was not a new favorite for me.
Thank you to Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine, Delacorte Press, Netgalley, and Danielle Steel for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I absolutely loved this book. It reminded me so much of the author's earlier writings. I enjoyed all of the characters. The author did a great job creating a "make believe" disaster and it really made me think about the crazy world we live in. I loved the fact that she portrayed that even after a catastrophe, you can still find some happiness.
The tragedy was hard to read about but the double love story was perfect. Danielle Steel books are always a great distraction because they are well written, easy, and quick reads. “Never Too Late” was a perfect weekend read.
Pretty typical Danielle Steel love story. When a major tragedy happens, how do people react? When rushing to help at the scene of a tragedy in New York City 2 people fall in love and the connection they make. Good story that intertwines their lives with the lives of their children, all the while keeping things a secret and low key. I always enjoy a Danielle Steel novel!
Kezia Cooper and her husband Andrew had a great marriage but he died five years ago and at Kezia decides it is time to move from San Francisco to NYC - a place she always loved; additionally is where her two adult daughters live.. Her sixth birthday is coming up and she thinks – it is never too late to try something new and perhaps find happiness again.
As she is settling into her new apartment, she finds that her terrace is next to Sam Stewart a movie star! Things click for them.
Although I typically love all of her books, this one didn't work for me.
I read, Never Too Late by Danielle Steel. I enjoyed this book with strong characters. Three of the main characters are female and I like the strength and depth Danielle Steel has given them. The male lead character is the perfect match. He is strong, yet caring. Together the characters, the setting, and the plot make an enjoyable book. I read it while on a cruise and it was perfect! Thank you.
I rated Never Too Late, 4/5 stars.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love getting lost in a Danielle Steel novel. This one intertwines multiple love stories and one of my favorite places NYC. This one is not to be missed.
Kudos Danielle Steel! ‘Never Too Late’ takes place in New York City, when three high profile sites are bombed and destroyed by American anarchists; throwing NY and the rest of the United States into a repeat of 9/11. Ms Steel weaves three romances into this easy to read book, with well developed and relatable characters.
Kezia and Sam were strangers that volunteered together during an attack on New York City. It was a devastating disaster that brought the two together that changed their lives. A story about recovering from loss and finding love at the end.
Thank you NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, and Danielle Steel for the ARC.
this was quick and easy read and danielle is good at that. although, I didn't enjoy the tragedy. But I will be reading more from her! thank you netgalley
Doesn’t Danielle Steel feel like a member of the family? And when she has a new book out you feel as if you are about to have the best catch up with your favorite aunt. While her characters primarily are representatives from the 1%, their hopes and sorrows reflect all of us. Love, loss, family and careers. She also provides an invitation to escape which I happily RSVP yes to!
In her latest she reminds us It’s Never Too Late for love or reinforcing a strong family and I am once again reminded it’s never too late for Danielle Steel.
I really enjoyed this one!!! Sometimes I feel like her stories are slow going in the beginning and the meat of the story is about 30 pages before the end. This one is SO GOOD!! This is a quick, enjoyable read.
when Kenzia Cooper Hobson loses her husband, she leaves San Francisco to move to New York to be close to her daughters. love the story.
Another great read by Danielle Steel. It was a fast, fun, entertaining story. The characters were likeable, and kept you turning the pages with their unique situations. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for the chance of reading this.
While I enjoyed this book, I feel as though parts are incomplete and some parts are repetitive.
After the sudden loss of her husband, Kezia Cooper Hobson leaves her life in San Francisco and moves to New York to be closer to her daughters, Kate and Felicity. While Kezia is getting settled, she finds out dashing Sam Stewart, a famous movie star lives next door. Cue romantic love interest.
As Kezia and Sam develop a friendship, there's a terrorist attack in NYC. They're asking for medical volunteers and since Kezia has training, she heads to the scene. Of course, Sam valiantly joins her. This is where I feel the book loses something. The reader is introduced to the FBI investigators by name. This could have been an interesting story line, yet, it got glossed over. Why introduce us to new characters if they're not going to be explored? I was really excited to see how they fit into the story, but was let down when they were just dropped. I think a more appropriate treatment would have been just simply scan over that side story with a brief, "The perpetrators were quickly apprehended by Federal agents."
Kezia's daughters are a bit annoying. Felicity is the vain model, while Kate spends her time focusing on how much she dislikes her sister. Admittedly, Kate does come around after an eye-opening visit with her long lost father.
I did not like that one of Kezia's children falls in love with Sam's son. I feel that's been done in a few of Ms. Steel's recent books. Time to find a new pattern.
Overall, I feel like the book was a bit under-developed. Fans of Danielle Steel will definitely enjoy the book. It's a quick, easy read that can be done in an afternoon.
Thank you to Delacorte Press and NetGalley for an advanced reading copy of Never Too Late.

Never too Late by Danielle Steel gave me a few hours of enjoyment. Her books always hit the spot for me when I need an escape.
Kezia had recently lost her husband. She needed to go on with her life and was looking for a place to go. She had many steps to move on and selling her husband’s business she decided to move to New York City. The sale of the business gave her the freedom to buy a place to live.
She has two daughters, Kate and Felicity, and they had a lot going on in their lives.
They all had to come to terms with who each of them are and what they want in life.
The characters in this book were written in a way to make me connect with each of them.
Thank you NetGalley, Danielle Steel and Random House Publishing Group for the ARC of Never Too Late. This is my personal review.
