Midnight Ruin
By Katee Robert
This is the sixth book in the Dark Olympus series.

Eurydice Dimitriou has been the well protected little sister of the family. She's spent the last year healing and becoming her own pain. She's ready to finally take the steps to stand on her own two feet. Can she move on from the heartache caused by Orpheus and find happiness in the lower city?

Charon Ariti is complicated. He's spent the last year being a protective friend. It's not easy when he wants so much more. And his positron as l Hades's second in command puts him in the cross hairs of danger. Yet he's no longer willing to wait to take what he wants, and it may turn out to be more than he bargained for.

Orpheus Makos has lived with his regret and the pain he caused. He's not the same selfish man he was. And he's prepared to do whatever it takes to right the wrongs, penance he will gladly give. Even if he only has a glimmer of hope that Eurydice will forgive him. He's never stopped living her, and now he has to take the painful steps to his forever.

While the city is posed for an ever increasing threat and the danger has come to the lower cities' doors, we truly see the power that Hades can wield. He will protect his people without question. Now we wait to see how both sides of the city will withstand the enemy that is coming.

Midnight Ruin by Katee Robert is a spicy book. This book is perfect for a greek mythology retelling.

This book got high sexual tension, second chance love, plenty of spicy scenes and a fast paced storyline. The level of spiciness is intense.

I'll definitely be looking forward for next book by Katee Robert.

"Midnight Ruin" by Katee Robert proves to be a satisfying and entertaining addition to the Dark Olympus series, earning a solid four-star rating. The narrative skillfully continues from the events of "Cruel Seduction," transporting readers back to the lower city for a full-circle moment reminiscent of the series' origins in "Neon Gods." While the stakes are undeniably high, the story maintains a faster pace, offering suspense and engagement throughout.

The game-changing ending is impactful and memorable, sparking curiosity about its future effects on the series. The romance takes center stage, showcasing elements of friends-to-lovers and second-chance dynamics. The tension, build-up, and the well-crafted blend of groveling, caretaking, and spice make "Midnight Ruin" one of the spicier entries in the Dark Olympus series.

A notable aspect is the character development of Eurydice, transforming her from a sheltered individual into a formidable and assertive woman. The interactions among Eurydice, Orpheus, and Charon are commendable, depicting a deep understanding and passionate connection between the characters.

The cameos of Hades and Persephone offer a glimpse into their growth as characters and leaders since "Neon Gods," adding depth the the series as whole. Katee Robert's skill in creating a queer-normative world is evident, seamlessly integrating inclusivity without overt emphasis.

As with all of the other novels in this series, this is an enjoyable reading experience for fans of spicy romance, intricate plots, and well-developed character arcs. "Midnight Ruin" stands as a compelling installment in the Dark Olympus series, leaving readers eager to explore the far-reaching effects hinted at in the game-changing ending. Highly recommended for those seeking an engaging and spicy escape into the Dark Olympus universe.

This book really ramped up the danger and shady dealings in the world of Dark Olympus... but never forgot the spice I ALWAYS adore from Katee Robert.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the arc of this book.
I am a fan of this series and there wasn’t a book from this series I didn’t enjoy reading. While reading I felt like the storyline was moving fast and the spicy scenes were good. However, finding out there was a puppy play kink in this book threw me for a loop. I wasn’t expecting it and this isn’t the first book I’ve read that had that but it isn’t a kink that is for me. I’m glad that was only one small part in the beginning. Overall I think this book was good. I only wish we got to see more was the growth of Charon, Eurydice, and Orpheus's relationship because I felt like we only saw Charon and Eurydice together and Orpheus and Eurydice together. I would have liked to see more of a relationship of all 3 of them together or Orpheus and Charon's growing relationship in a sense that wasn’t during a spicy moment. This book I enjoyed reading and there wasn’t a moment while reading that I was bored. I’m excited to see what’s next for this series.

Perfect For….
Fans of Greek mythology retelling smut.

Quick Synopsis
Eurydice and Charon and Orpheus are all connected as Eurydice tries to step out and take charge of her own life.

My Review
Honestly, this series isn’t getting better. I really liked the first two books but after that they just seem to be less plot and more sex. These books are too short to be putting off the actual plot. And this getting back with your ex and your new guy in a throuple just doesn’t seem very realistic if I’m being honest. The ending also came very quickly with no real conclusion. Like it was just done but it didn’t even feel done. I gave the book 3 stars because it wasn’t horrible and I could still get through it, but I would recommend it to others.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own

3.5 stars. I really enjoyed that we finally learned more about Eurydice and some of her past. I loved her relationship with Charon and he helped her grow in confidence and helped her learn what she wants. Now I wasn’t sure how adding Orpheus in would work. But I think overall their chemistry together was great. I’m glad that there was a big focus on Orpheus and Eurydice healing. My favorite thing is that we finally learned who the main villain is! We are getting closer and closer to war and really starting to see more come to light. I also loved to see more Hades, Persephone, and Callisto in this. My only reason for not rating a little higher is I felt this book and the relationships seemed rushed. It all happened so fast. But overall I enjoyed this and can’t wait for the next. Very eagerly waiting for the Zeus and Hera book!

3.5⭐️ 4🌶️

I couldn’t wait to start this book. I love a good second chance romance but I was worried that I wouldn’t have it in me to forgive Orpheus but I trust Katee and was eager to see his path to redemption. I was also a little worried about the relationship dynamic between the three of them since I was not a huge fan of the dynamic between Achilles, Patroclus, and Helen. I shouldn’t have been worried in either case. I came to really love their relationship.

I’ve decided that Charon can do no wrong. I love that man so much! I was worried there for a while that he wouldn’t get the love and devotion he deserved. But as long as he is happy, I’m happy.

Orpheus had so much growth from the first time we saw him and I grew to like him a lot.

Eurydice wasn’t my favorite character. She was sheltered and spoiled and tired of being sheltered so she would act recklessly. She was overly confident so sometimes instead of feeling like a strong and rebellious woman, she felt like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum.

I think my biggest complaint about this book is that I was left wanting more from the ending. I remember reading the last page and was surprised it was the last page. Maybe the bonus content will help give me more closure.

I enjoyed the the new information we gained about Olympus and I’m starting to guess who Hermes’ love interest will be. I can’t wait to see if I am right.

Orpheus did Eurydice oh so wrong, and she has been hanging out in the lower city ever since getting closer to Charon. Charon wants Eurydice, but Orpheus wants her back, and Eurydice wants them both. With war fast approaching Olympus Eurydice is going to need to shed her naïve youngest sister skin and step into the woman she needs to not only survive this war but thrive in the dirty politics that is Olympus. Who knew all she needed to find her inner bad ass was explore her kinks and fantasies with two men, go girl! Charon was perfection the entire book and the groveling Orpheus did to earn forgiveness love to see it. Plus more gets revealed in the plot of who is trying to bring down Olympus.

A huge thank you to Katee and their publisher for an advance copy of this book.

Midnight Ruin is the sixth installment of Robert's wildly popular Dark Olympus series. And honestly, it's their best one yet. While not as spicy (but still spicy) as some of the earlier books, Midnight Ruin is hard to put down. This book is a rollercoaster and action packed on the edge of your seat.

Eurydice is determined to get everyone to stop treating her like she is fragile while she comes to an agreement best friend-turned-lover Charon to give their relationship a go. That is, as long as she can find closure with her ex, Orpheus. However when the three of them are together the chemistry is off the charts and they soon realize they're better together.

The legacy families of Olympus learn who Minos' benefactor is and learn that the situation is more dire than they previously had thought. With 4 more books in the series, I cannot wait to see where Robert takes this series next.

This steamy romance and suspense combo is like the ultimate rollercoaster. The characters have this insane chemistry that'll have you fanning yourself, and the plot twists are like, whoa! It's one of those books that makes you stay up way past bedtime because you just have to know what happens next. Katee Robert is the queen of blending passion and suspense, and "Midnight Ruin" is the ultimate proof. If you're into love, danger, and a healthy dose of sizzle, grab this book ASAP!

I’m not one for excessive internal self-denial, and it does seem to be Katee’s lifeblood, so I found myself skimming parts of this.

It seems as the larger political plot becomes more complicated, erotic scenes and romantic plots feel rushed. I don’t give a fig about the believability of a world like Olympus, but believability was certainly stretched when the author contrived to steep the city in paranoia, yet trust is reached rather quickly between Eurydice and Charon, and Orpheus who has put Eurydice in harm’s way before.

I do enjoy the way Katee writes throuples, and these three had solid chemistry and a balance of personalities. I enjoyed seeing more of Hades and Persephone because Neon Gods is my favorite of the series.

If you’re a big fan of the series, I think you’ll enjoy the characters in Midnight Ruin, as well as the forward momentum of the external plot. For me, this was somewhat mid, and I’ll likely keep picking and choosing which books in the series I’ll read based on my interests.

Eurydice Dimitriou. IS little sister we all want to protect from earlier novels. Well, the innocent sister has stepped into the limelight, ready to shed her past and embrace a future on her terms. It's about time, And who better to help her forget that heartbreak than Charon Ariti, He is Hades's right-hand man and The chemistry between Eurydice and Charon is off the charts.

Are you a little disappointed that Eurydice and Orpheus aren't married in this story?

But wait, there's more! Enter Orpheus Makos, the once golden boy of the upper city, now a shadow of his former self. He'll do what he needs to do to win Eurydice back, even if it means a trio of tangled hearts and a whole lot of mess.

Katee Robert creates a story that's as unpredictable as it is satisfying giving us a polyamorous triad and adding the surprise of puppy play into the mix. It's a testament to Katee Robert's ability to keep readers on their toes and offer something fresh and unexpected in each installment of the series.

The dynamic trio of Eurydice, Charon, and Orpheus brings a perfect blend of tension, passion, and emotional depth. The characters, flawed and complex, add layers to the story, and the messy politics of Olympus create a backdrop that adds an extra layer of intrigue.

I am also excited to see some progression of the overarching Dark Olympus narrative. We have had hints that suggest the looming battle for Olympus is just around the corner and we finally see a bit of action on that front. The intricate politics, the complexities of the relationships, and the impending crisis create an atmosphere of anticipation that keeps me returning to Olympus. Katee Robert truly shines as she continues to deliver an engaging and multifaceted story that keeps us all eagerly awaiting the next installment. Luckily she doesn't make us wait too long.

The spice in this book was incredible. I didn’t want to put it down. In some of the previous books, the characters didn’t mesh well or I felt that she was leaving part of the couple out of the relationship. But in this one, i felt that the of three of them connected in an incredible and intimate. I absolutely love this pairing. This honestly might be tied for my second favorite pairing. They all understood each other so well and cared so passionately for each other. In all the scenes they were intimate together and cared for each other. When Charon wanted to not only hold Eurydice but also Orpheus. I melted right where I sat

I love seeing more of Persephone and Hades. I missed them from the first book. I am so hooked in the lower city and upper city! Especially with that ending!

One issues I had was I thought we had a spelling mistake closing to the end of the book with zir and ze. I thought we were talking about a whole new character but no we were not. It felt completely thrown in there and out of place. I did check it was in the book twice prior earlier with this character but i still felt a bit unnecessary. Maybe we can explore this character more in a different book

That being said I am craving a Hera and Zeus story! They have been married for a few books now but are they just friends, are they enemies. Do they hook up in anyway! I need to know. Also is Hercules coming? He was mentioned in two different books and I just need to know. Also what side is Hera truly on? Also i need more info on Medusa, Minthe and Calypso

I do truly enjoy this series and can’t wait to see what Katee does next for the series. Thank you NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca and Katee Robert!

Finally she is here and oh boy was she worth the wait. I love retellings especially Greek Myth retellings and I devour anything I can, but, this author does it differently and just hits the mark every single time. Fantastic

ATTENTION: We are finally getting answers!! I’ve been hooked on the Dark Olympus books from the very start and devoured every single one of them, but have felt like the last few have been a little bit more “filler” and not having quite as much moving with the political games in the series. They’ve been doing a lot of setting up, and I was getting antsy in waiting this long to get major reveals, but now WE’VE GOT SOME.

Midnight Ruin is the next installment in this fabulous series from Katee Robert. We are finally getting the story of Eurydice, Charon, and Orpheus, who have been pretty notable characters from book one. Eurydice and Orpheus are exes, with him having done some pretty harmful things to her in the past. Charon is Hades right-hand man and has formed a new friendship with Eurydice since she’s started hanging out in the Lower City over the past year. The dynamic of these three together was GLORIOUS. While it does start off pretty quickly with the relationships and spice, these characters have been developing these feelings over the past 5 books, so it didn’t really feel like “insta” anything as opposed to “finally!”. They fit together really well, and I felt like they communicated well what their needs and wants were. I really enjoyed this couple, and they’re up there with the Wicked Beauty trio for favorite couple!

4.25/5 Stars

As I said, we are FINALLY getting somewhere again with the plot. This book felt like we actually had a bit more plot to spice ratio than we’ve had recently, and it was nice to have that blend as there was a lot more action in what is happening in Olympus! We finally know who the benefactor is and why they are trying to take down Olympus, and the ending has me ITCHING to get the next book now!

As always, Katee does such a good job with this queer-normative world as well. I just love how inclusive she is in all ways with her writing and how it just IS the way things are in that world instead of pointing a giant finger at it to show that a box was checked. Bravo on another well done story!

I CANNOT WAIT for Dark Restraint and for the rest of the series to come!

Three untethered souls find themselves and love with each other while chaos and fear ramp up in Olympus.

The way that the three MCs embarked on their sexual journey wasn’t always my cup of tea, but I could see how it provided a way for Orpheus to earn penance and to address the attraction simmering between all three. I liked the way their relationship developed later on and the HEA they got at the end.

Charon was the most interesting and likeable of the three by far. Eurydice persistently worked to change people’s perceptions about her and how they handled her. Orpheus had overcorrected his behaviour a bit too much to the docile side.

Plot-wise, mysterious attackers and the growing unrest in Olympus provided plenty of nail-biting action and suspense. Some questions were answered, but lots more were left open-ended for the next book. It was over way too soon.

I can recommend this if you like super steamy MMF romances with political intrigue. The story is told in turn from all three MCs’ perspectives. It’s better to read the books in this series in order, to keep track as the events unfold.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another great book in the Dark Olympus series and Katee Robert has done it again. I think that Katee has found a way to move away from an 'authentic' Greek mythology and focus on the politics that have been brewing since the first Dark Olympus book.

While Katee has nailed the MMF relationship there was some part that fell off. I think in terms of the overall story this book felt like a fluff to progress that whole story and politics in Olympus. It just felt like nothing happened but I still loved the book.

Another steamy read by Katee Robert -- can it be too steamy? I've been reading this Dark Olympus series for a bit now and always thought there was enough plot to balance the "sexier" parts. I felt like this was the first one to miss the mark -- not enough plot development and maybe too much "sexy" time. I didn't find myself caring at all about Eurydice, Charon, or Orpheus. The relationship between them moved too fast, and the ending was abrupt. If you're looking for sex scenes, this has plenty, but other than that, not much character development.
