A huge thank you to Katee and their publisher for an advance copy of this book.

Midnight Ruin is the sixth installment of Robert's wildly popular Dark Olympus series. And honestly, it's their best one yet. While not as spicy (but still spicy) as some of the earlier books, Midnight Ruin is hard to put down. This book is a rollercoaster and action packed on the edge of your seat.

Eurydice is determined to get everyone to stop treating her like she is fragile while she comes to an agreement best friend-turned-lover Charon to give their relationship a go. That is, as long as she can find closure with her ex, Orpheus. However when the three of them are together the chemistry is off the charts and they soon realize they're better together.

The legacy families of Olympus learn who Minos' benefactor is and learn that the situation is more dire than they previously had thought. With 4 more books in the series, I cannot wait to see where Robert takes this series next.

This steamy romance and suspense combo is like the ultimate rollercoaster. The characters have this insane chemistry that'll have you fanning yourself, and the plot twists are like, whoa! It's one of those books that makes you stay up way past bedtime because you just have to know what happens next. Katee Robert is the queen of blending passion and suspense, and "Midnight Ruin" is the ultimate proof. If you're into love, danger, and a healthy dose of sizzle, grab this book ASAP!

I’m not one for excessive internal self-denial, and it does seem to be Katee’s lifeblood, so I found myself skimming parts of this.

It seems as the larger political plot becomes more complicated, erotic scenes and romantic plots feel rushed. I don’t give a fig about the believability of a world like Olympus, but believability was certainly stretched when the author contrived to steep the city in paranoia, yet trust is reached rather quickly between Eurydice and Charon, and Orpheus who has put Eurydice in harm’s way before.

I do enjoy the way Katee writes throuples, and these three had solid chemistry and a balance of personalities. I enjoyed seeing more of Hades and Persephone because Neon Gods is my favorite of the series.

If you’re a big fan of the series, I think you’ll enjoy the characters in Midnight Ruin, as well as the forward momentum of the external plot. For me, this was somewhat mid, and I’ll likely keep picking and choosing which books in the series I’ll read based on my interests.

Eurydice Dimitriou. IS little sister we all want to protect from earlier novels. Well, the innocent sister has stepped into the limelight, ready to shed her past and embrace a future on her terms. It's about time, And who better to help her forget that heartbreak than Charon Ariti, He is Hades's right-hand man and The chemistry between Eurydice and Charon is off the charts.

Are you a little disappointed that Eurydice and Orpheus aren't married in this story?

But wait, there's more! Enter Orpheus Makos, the once golden boy of the upper city, now a shadow of his former self. He'll do what he needs to do to win Eurydice back, even if it means a trio of tangled hearts and a whole lot of mess.

Katee Robert creates a story that's as unpredictable as it is satisfying giving us a polyamorous triad and adding the surprise of puppy play into the mix. It's a testament to Katee Robert's ability to keep readers on their toes and offer something fresh and unexpected in each installment of the series.

The dynamic trio of Eurydice, Charon, and Orpheus brings a perfect blend of tension, passion, and emotional depth. The characters, flawed and complex, add layers to the story, and the messy politics of Olympus create a backdrop that adds an extra layer of intrigue.

I am also excited to see some progression of the overarching Dark Olympus narrative. We have had hints that suggest the looming battle for Olympus is just around the corner and we finally see a bit of action on that front. The intricate politics, the complexities of the relationships, and the impending crisis create an atmosphere of anticipation that keeps me returning to Olympus. Katee Robert truly shines as she continues to deliver an engaging and multifaceted story that keeps us all eagerly awaiting the next installment. Luckily she doesn't make us wait too long.

The spice in this book was incredible. I didn’t want to put it down. In some of the previous books, the characters didn’t mesh well or I felt that she was leaving part of the couple out of the relationship. But in this one, i felt that the of three of them connected in an incredible and intimate. I absolutely love this pairing. This honestly might be tied for my second favorite pairing. They all understood each other so well and cared so passionately for each other. In all the scenes they were intimate together and cared for each other. When Charon wanted to not only hold Eurydice but also Orpheus. I melted right where I sat

I love seeing more of Persephone and Hades. I missed them from the first book. I am so hooked in the lower city and upper city! Especially with that ending!

One issues I had was I thought we had a spelling mistake closing to the end of the book with zir and ze. I thought we were talking about a whole new character but no we were not. It felt completely thrown in there and out of place. I did check it was in the book twice prior earlier with this character but i still felt a bit unnecessary. Maybe we can explore this character more in a different book

That being said I am craving a Hera and Zeus story! They have been married for a few books now but are they just friends, are they enemies. Do they hook up in anyway! I need to know. Also is Hercules coming? He was mentioned in two different books and I just need to know. Also what side is Hera truly on? Also i need more info on Medusa, Minthe and Calypso

I do truly enjoy this series and can’t wait to see what Katee does next for the series. Thank you NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca and Katee Robert!

Finally she is here and oh boy was she worth the wait. I love retellings especially Greek Myth retellings and I devour anything I can, but, this author does it differently and just hits the mark every single time. Fantastic

ATTENTION: We are finally getting answers!! I’ve been hooked on the Dark Olympus books from the very start and devoured every single one of them, but have felt like the last few have been a little bit more “filler” and not having quite as much moving with the political games in the series. They’ve been doing a lot of setting up, and I was getting antsy in waiting this long to get major reveals, but now WE’VE GOT SOME.

Midnight Ruin is the next installment in this fabulous series from Katee Robert. We are finally getting the story of Eurydice, Charon, and Orpheus, who have been pretty notable characters from book one. Eurydice and Orpheus are exes, with him having done some pretty harmful things to her in the past. Charon is Hades right-hand man and has formed a new friendship with Eurydice since she’s started hanging out in the Lower City over the past year. The dynamic of these three together was GLORIOUS. While it does start off pretty quickly with the relationships and spice, these characters have been developing these feelings over the past 5 books, so it didn’t really feel like “insta” anything as opposed to “finally!”. They fit together really well, and I felt like they communicated well what their needs and wants were. I really enjoyed this couple, and they’re up there with the Wicked Beauty trio for favorite couple!

4.25/5 Stars

As I said, we are FINALLY getting somewhere again with the plot. This book felt like we actually had a bit more plot to spice ratio than we’ve had recently, and it was nice to have that blend as there was a lot more action in what is happening in Olympus! We finally know who the benefactor is and why they are trying to take down Olympus, and the ending has me ITCHING to get the next book now!

As always, Katee does such a good job with this queer-normative world as well. I just love how inclusive she is in all ways with her writing and how it just IS the way things are in that world instead of pointing a giant finger at it to show that a box was checked. Bravo on another well done story!

I CANNOT WAIT for Dark Restraint and for the rest of the series to come!

Three untethered souls find themselves and love with each other while chaos and fear ramp up in Olympus.

The way that the three MCs embarked on their sexual journey wasn’t always my cup of tea, but I could see how it provided a way for Orpheus to earn penance and to address the attraction simmering between all three. I liked the way their relationship developed later on and the HEA they got at the end.

Charon was the most interesting and likeable of the three by far. Eurydice persistently worked to change people’s perceptions about her and how they handled her. Orpheus had overcorrected his behaviour a bit too much to the docile side.

Plot-wise, mysterious attackers and the growing unrest in Olympus provided plenty of nail-biting action and suspense. Some questions were answered, but lots more were left open-ended for the next book. It was over way too soon.

I can recommend this if you like super steamy MMF romances with political intrigue. The story is told in turn from all three MCs’ perspectives. It’s better to read the books in this series in order, to keep track as the events unfold.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another great book in the Dark Olympus series and Katee Robert has done it again. I think that Katee has found a way to move away from an 'authentic' Greek mythology and focus on the politics that have been brewing since the first Dark Olympus book.

While Katee has nailed the MMF relationship there was some part that fell off. I think in terms of the overall story this book felt like a fluff to progress that whole story and politics in Olympus. It just felt like nothing happened but I still loved the book.

Another steamy read by Katee Robert -- can it be too steamy? I've been reading this Dark Olympus series for a bit now and always thought there was enough plot to balance the "sexier" parts. I felt like this was the first one to miss the mark -- not enough plot development and maybe too much "sexy" time. I didn't find myself caring at all about Eurydice, Charon, or Orpheus. The relationship between them moved too fast, and the ending was abrupt. If you're looking for sex scenes, this has plenty, but other than that, not much character development.

The sixth book in the Dark Olympus series does not disappoint! This is a fantastical version of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth. And Charon. Yes, this dynamic duo is now a trio and for some strange reason, it works. Luckily, there is also plenty of story woven in through the romance and war is coming to Olympus. The lower city barrier (where Hades and Persephone rule) has been breached. There will be another installment of this series starring Ariadne and the Minotaur. (Luckily, he's a human in this series.)

*Special thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for this e-arc.*

This one didn’t really work for me, but it was more a matter of personal preferences. It’s a MMF story, which I love, but the author really leans in to degradation kink, which is just not my thing. Just know what you’re getting when you go in. I’m sure this book will work for a lot of people!

I received an ARC from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

The sixth book in the Dark Olympus series is full of action and sex. It takes place in the lower city, which we haven’t really been to since Neon Gods, so it was nice to be back and made it feel similar to the first book in some ways. Although the story and politics has definitely evolved since that book. The politics and war that has been developing throughout the series made a more action packed appearance in this book, which I liked as this threat is becoming more physical and I’m excited to see where it goes. And lastly the romance in this book featuring Eurydice, Orpheus, and Charon. These three are sexy and smutty and I loved it. My only issue was that their relationship felt too quick. Granted Eurydice and Orpheus are giving it a second chance and Eurydice and Charon were built throughout the background of the series so there already is a basis for these relationships. I think I just would’ve liked more of the three of them or even just Orpheus and Charon together and seeing the full relationship built just a little more.

Overall, another great book in the Dark Olympus series!

Let me start this off by saying you cannot go wrong with the Dark Olympus series by Katee Robert. Midnight Ruins is no exception. I think Robert’s take on a polygamous relationship was well done. The spicy scenes are definitely steamy. If you’ve read the previous other stories in the series and enjoyed them you will not be disappointed with this one.

Thanks to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablancas and Katee Robert for the ARC.

Midnight Ruin was a great installment in the Dark Olympus series, with well-developed characters and an intriguing storyline. It was a good representation of a polyamorous relationship, and the character arc was well-executed. It did, however, try to fit quite a few different plot lines in that needed some more time to be fleshed out. The book felt fairly short for all that Katie Robert was trying to accomplish here, but it did have a good balance of plot vs. spicy romance.

Thank you to Sourcebooks, NetGalley, and of course, the fabulous Katee Robert for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This is the sixth book in the Dark Olympus series, while you could probably can be read as a standalone, I would highly recommend reading the whole series so you can understand all of the complex relationships between the characters.

CW: violence, murder, blood, guns, pregnancy and abortion (off page, not FMC), consensual kink

Things to expect:
-MMF contemporary romance
-friends to lovers
-pining
-grovel through puppy play
-second chance
-forced proximity
-suspense
-he paints her

I was very excited for this book specifically because I wanted to see Orpheus grovel for forgiveness after the events in book 1. Bless the Queen Katee Robert because not only did I get the groveling I wanted, I got puppy play! Plus the daddy energy that we got from Charon was top tier.

I loved how Charon was pining for Eurydice for so long, yet he gave her the space to heal after the betrayal of Orpheus. On top of that, Charon would literally do anything for Eurydice which I loved reading.

Lastly, I also really enjoyed how much Eurydice became stronger and more independent in this book. I have been waiting to see her grow and it FINALLY happened!

Oh and of course, the spice was INSANE! It started early in the book, becoming more and more spicy with every scene!

I can’t wait for the next installment because Olympus is imploding and I have so many theories about what will happen in the next couple of books!

All the way back in book 1, Orpheus abandons Eurydice to a an unknown fate by a bridge leading to the lower city under the old Zeus's instructions. That forced her into the protection of her sister Persephone and her husband Hades. They have Charon, Hades's right hand man, guard her and they develop a friendship. Charon is smitten but he knows she needs to heal and nothing can go further between him and Eurydice until she comes to terms with her unresolved feelings towards Orpheus. Charon then heads to Olympus and tells Orpheus to set things straight. Neither Charon nor Eurydice were expecting a repentant and very changed Orpheus to actually show up and accept any form of punishment Eurydice throws at him, even becoming "her dog" (yes, puppy play is involved). Also unexpected was how the attraction between Charon and Orpheus also develops and soon the three realize they can't live without the others.

Like I have said in reviews of the previous books, this is pretty much a chapter in a long story and you definitely need to read the ones before to understand all the mess going on in Olympus and the Lower City.

There is a strong element of romance underlying the story, but this is mostly an entry in the saga of what's happening in the cities, with the focus being on Charon, Eurydice and Orpheus.

I wouldn't say this ends in a cliffhanger per se, but the ending was so abrupt  I thought my copy was missing the final chapter.

There is a lot of politics as usual as well as some steamy scenes as we can expect from Katee Robert, but the plot is king here, moving the bigger story along.

Thank you, NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the early copy.

Representation: everyone is queer

Possible triggers: violence, murder, pregnancy (not the heroine), pregnancy termination (by choice, not the heroine)

I loved it!. A while back I've read Neon Gods and since then I've been invested in every book of this series and this one did not disappoint. Even though it is a series, you can definitely read this as a standalone. I really loved the characters and they worked with each other. I have been waiting for Eurydice story since we first meet through her sisters point of view and it was a blast from start to the very end. Katie Robert always knows how to do something new and really mastered this book, so I'm really exited for the next one!

Katee Robert can do no wrong in my book. Had my soul down when she wrote Neon Gods, and have loved keeping up with this series. Getting ARC’s for her last few has been an absolute privilege, thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity in exchange for an honest review.

This one follows the tale of Eurydice, Charon and Orpheus… as a throuple with puppy play. I was not expecting this whatsoever… I went in with an open mind, as I always do, and I was not disappointed. Robert is the queen of enthusiastic consent, and all parties were thoroughly game for this dynamic. I found myself really loving these characters and how they were all drawn together (pun intended). It was a blast from start to finish. She always knows how to add a new dynamic between her characters in this world and I’m always eager to go back for more, cannot wait for the next!

As always, thank you to NetGalley, Katee Roberts and her publishing/marketing team, who made it possible for me to receive an advanced reader copy of this book. This review is purely my own opinion.

Firstly, I want to start by saying I was shocked to see this ARC in my inbox this morning. I was so excited to read this, so much so that I have non-stopped having this open on my phone from 10 am and just finished it at 3:30 pm. I barely stopped to eat lunch; that's how addictive this book was. This has been the case for every Katee Roberts book I have read.

Before reading this book, I did read the preview, which had three different scenes, very spicy, delicious scenes, which I was looking out for and waiting to reread in this book. Let me say, they did not disappoint. Having a closer connection to the characters as well, made those amazing scene a thousand times better.

Now for the actual book, good and bad, but most amazing.

The book had a recap at the beginning. For anyone who knows this series knows this is not the first one. There are quite a few books in this world, all based on different people and their complicated romances. Each story though, follows an whole underlying story that follows through from one book to the next. That's not to say you can't read these as a stand-alone; you can 100% do that, and you will not feel as though you have to backtrack or get confused with moments throughout the book. This is why I think its amazing that there's a little blurb, a few sentences, starting a main importance from each book that is relevant to the background story. It doesn't give away any spoilers for the stories before if maybe you're reading them out of order, but it does give you a little more of an understanding.

Eurydice, she's a highly connected individual, even though her character would not give you that impression. She has a little bit of past trauma with her ex-boyfriend, Orpheus, which is stopping her from moving on and diving headfirst into love again.

Charon is her best friend, his helped pick up the pieces of her heart, and his falling head over heels for her. He knows what he wants is her, forever, but he understands why she is hesitant to jump into love. There's unresolved feelings he can't turn off for her.

Orpheus, the ex-boyfriend, he made a massive mistake which turned Eurydice and his lives upside down and has been paying the price since. He wants a second chance but doesn't feel like he deserves it.

Charon, wanting to start a life with Eurydice, knows that she needs closure. So he ventures out into the upper city and barges into the life of Orpheus. Basically telling him to sort his shit out, and figure out a way to give Eurydice closure so she can move on, with him.

Orpheus takes that as an invitation to seek out Eurydice in the lower city;

"Find your way to the lower city and make it right. You owe her that much."

When he arrives, he does find her in a compromised position, which makes for some interesting future developments between the three of them.

"You're going to let go of my cock and walk with me to my car."
"Or?"
"Or I;m going to fuck you right here in public where anyone walking past can see us claiming each other."

While the three of them are figuring out their relationship with each other and together. The barrier to Olympus is failing. There are threats everywhere, assassination attempts, and individuals out there seeking ways to destroy the thirteen.

Now you know a bit about the story, how about whats even more important, the spice. This is a semi-dark romance, it does hit on a few sensitive topics. Such as pregnancy and abortions, not in terms of the main characters though. So as always check those out before reading. It is very spicy and is very much in the world of kink with puppy play. The characters are very sub/dom but do switch it up depending on the dynamic at the time.

At first the relationship between he three was experimental, it was more Charon giving permission to get Orpheus out of her system.

"He wants to pay penance, and you deserve to have penance paid. I don't give a fuck what that looks like. Stick a collar around his neck and walk him like a dog if that will make you happy. Fuck him. Sleep with him. Do what you need to do."

Which evolves when they release the attraction and compulsion to be together, all three of them.

"If Charon fucks me, will you suck his cock clean?" 🔥

"Your dog is famished, baby. Let's stop wasting time and feed him."

"You heard her. Make her come so hard that she's begging for your cock. And when you give it to her, I'll give you mine."

And ultimately, the three of them had my heart from the beginning.

"I might have come here for her, but plans change."

I did say we would talk about the good and the bad. But sitting here right now, I can't come up with anything remotely negative I have to say about this book. We are only nine days into the year, but I already know this will be a strong contender for my favourite read. All I can say is, where's the next?
