Eurydice Dimitriou the innocent little sister, Charon Ariti, Hades's right-hand man and Orpheus Makos, the golden boy of the upper city. Three hearts. Three futures. Countless ways to get it wrong.

Midnight Ruin is MMF and in true Katee fashion, it is done so well and if you are into a little praise, this one will be good for you. I actually think this one goes into my top three of the series, only losing out to Neon Gods and Electric Idol. The political plot and the main storyline is absolutely coming along. I am so invested in the goings on in Olympus! It's starting to feel more about a story now, rather than each separate couple and I am living for it.

Thank you to Netgalley, Sourcebooks and Katee Robert for an advanced copy. This addition to the Dark Olympus series is available now.

Katie Robert's steam is always PIPING HOT!

The books in this series are great.. I love the greek mythology retelling... Ive really grown to know these characters.

This is one of my favorites of the series, although...... NOTHING will ever beat Neon Gods!!!

Wow. Whoa and whew! That was the first series of words I could string along after reading Midnight Run. So thrilling and unabashedly raw and sexy. Amazing theme and twist on the fates.

Midnight Ruin follows Eurydice, Orpheus, and Charon. I have always enjoyed the Dark Olympus series but unfortunately this book was a bit of a miss for me. I felt like the book plot was slow to develop while the characters just completely ignored past issues in order to become a couple. It felt a little bit toxic. Midnight Ruin just didn’t have the same depth and excitement as the other books on the series. Overall 3 ⭐️

Midnight Ruin is a great addition to the Dark Olympus series by Katee Robert. I’ve been following this series and I’m a big fan of Katee in general so this book gave me everything I was looking for.

The anti-heroes of Olympus return for another installment of the Dark Olympus series! Midnight Ruin brings us the story of Eurydice, Charon, and Orpheus.

Eurydice is tired of being the fragile one among the Dimitriou sisters and she is ready to claim her own identity. With the help of Charon, she learns to take what she wants...and what Eurydice wants is Orpheus on his knees before her, begging for forgiveness. Set amongst the backdrop of Olympus' upcoming war, the three begin a love affair that is equal parts healing and pure lust.

In Midnight Ruin, we learn more about the upcoming war for Olympus and the person funding Minos in his quest to destabilize the already precarious city.

This book was hot with a capital H-O-T! Katee Robert doesn't hold back in any part of the story and the plot and heat tie together seamlessly.

Katee Robert has done it again!! Love love LOVE this series, and this installation!!! I can't wait to see what happens next! I'll be sure to keep some lens cleaner for my glasses handy for when they fog up from the HEAT!!!!

I have read SEVERAL of Katee Robert's books at this point and I've come to the conclusion that they are just not good.

I appreciate that Robert is constantly adding material to the romantasy genre but they are mediocre at best. The smut feels like it's being written by someone who just learned they are allowed to curse and has no idea how to do so. I'll never get over the phrase "blow my load" being used in this book. I immediately wanted to stop reading. It made realize that Robert writes like this all the time and as a whole, the writing is awkward and cringy. The sex scenes are also pretty boring.

I will NOT be okay when this series ends. Thankfully we still have four more books to go!

But this one? WOAH. I’ll be honest in that Wicked Beauty still holds the spot as my favorite, but this was definitely one of the hottest ones yet.

Eurydice has always been underestimated and viewed as the innocent sister, especially after Orpheus risked her life and broke her heart. But he still holds part of her heart. And the other part now belongs to Charon, Hades’ right-hand man. And apparently both men love her. What a fun twist when the two men also grow to love each other…

I honestly loved the dynamic of these three, especially the character growth for each of them, and the glimpses into all of the other couples we’ve already grown to love in the previous five books. But the pacing was a bit off in this one for me. We’re clearly gearing up for a big fight in order to save Olympus, but it looks like that’ll be drawn out throughout the last few books. Because of that, the end of this one felt like a massive cliffhanger (more so than any of the others prior) and I’m itching to get my hands on the next one!!

Tropes:
- MMF
- Second chance romance
- He falls first
- Why choose
- Forced proximity
- One bed
- Greek mythology

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this advanced copy.

Unfortunately, I didn't realize this was book 6 of the Dark Olympus series when I started reading it. I felt quite a bit lost plot wise and felt like I should have known the characters better. I mean, the spice was TOP TIER!! But to fully enjoy this one, I need to go back and start this series from the beginning.

Hot, but such a mess of a plot. This series continues to be both fascinating and frustrating like it doesn't know what it wants to be. There are so many books in this series, and I still have no idea why this city is the way it is. All the danger and political machinations are meaningless without the context.

I didn't love the polyamory portrayed here; it felt more resigned than enthusiastic. And while the themes of submission and humiliation were hot, I'm really starting to get frustrated by the seeming vacuous and half-formed political plotting used to tie these books together.

Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for providing an eARC for review.

I really enjoyed the latest book in this series. I do enjoy the plot line regarding Olympus even though I don’t think that’s the main point. I liked seeing Eurydice stand up for herself and show others that she’s more capable than the people around her think. I also appreciate the up front communication between the three of them.

So, I finally finished this, and honestly, I'm feeling kind of meh about it. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about diving into a good series, but this one might be dragging on a bit too long for my taste.

I mean, don't get me started on the number of characters popping up left and right. Some of them, sure, add some flavour to the story. But then others just make me go, "Why are you even here?" It's like trying to keep track of too many tabs open on your browser – overwhelming.

And can we talk about this reading slump I've been in since Christmas? It's like my brain just decided to take a vacation without me. So, maybe my feelings towards this book have something to do with that. I tried to get into it, really I did, but it just didn't grip me like I hoped it would.

But hey, it's not all doom and gloom. Katee still knows how to write some steamy romance scenes, and her world-building skills are on point. If you're a die-hard fan of the series, you'll probably find some enjoyment in catching up with familiar characters.

Overall, Midnight Ruin has its moments, but it's not exactly knocking my socks off. Who knows, maybe the next instalment will pick up the pace a bit. Fingers crossed!

The beginning started off intriguing and lightly recapped what had previously happened to Eurydice. This helped since I haven’t kept up with all the books within the series. I loved Eurydice’s chemistry with Charon and learning how patient he has been with her as she recovered from past wounds was very endearing. The car scene was also just HOT. Orpheus wasn’t my favorite, but he was an interesting addition. Even though Eurydice still seemed hung up on Orpheus, I fully expected more work to be done by him to make up for the damage he caused given she spent months picking up the pieces. Who knew all it would take is one BDSM puppy play scene to make things better. This is one aspect that I felt was rushed, as well as the connection between Charon and Orpheus. They almost reminded me of the way teenagers can get so quickly enamored with each other. I would have liked to see a slower progression and build to their relationships. The baggage the characters carry are complex, but the resolutions don’t match the seriousness of their issues. However, there was great chemistry between the characters, and the spice did not disappoint. I just think there were missed opportunities for more depth.

I'm going to just be upfront about this one: I hated this book. I was fully invested in Hades and Persephone in "Neon Gods," and Helen/Achilles/Patroclus in "Wicked Beauty," and I felt like there was more to those two books specifically than just the spice. I didn't care as much about Aphrodite/Hephaestus/Adonis/Pandora ("Cruel Seduction"), but I still felt like there was an overarching story unfolding. As for Eros & Psyche ("Electric Idol") and Apollo/Cassandra ("Radiant Sin"), I felt no attachment to any of the characters, really, and unfortunately, "Midnight Ruin" is way more in line with those two than with any of the other three; Eurydice/Charon/Orpheus tries to be a discovery-of-self journey for Eurydice, a stoic hero plot for Charon, and a redemption arc for Orpheus all through the lens of deciding to be a throuple with shades of D/s kink, AND a big revelation of what's actually going on in Olympus with the mysterious benefactor behind Minos' attempts at infiltrating the city and installing his own loyalists within the hierarchy. Frankly, it's just kind of a convoluted mess, the central trio isn't all that compelling, and I'm definitely not at all interested in the next book if Ariadne/"The Minotaur" are the focus.

This is a great entry in the Dark Olympus. I really liked Charon's characterization and how his love for Eurydice leaps off the page. While I usually read this series for the romance, I found myself really enjoying the political story that has been slowly building since book one. I also really enjoyed seeing Hades and Persephone!

I really enjoyed this addition to the series! I liked the polycule dynamics - I felt like the relationship took precedence over the world-building, which I enjoyed.

📣 polyamorous Eurydice / Charon / Orpheus retelling

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the complimentary ARC. All opinions provided are my own.

📖 what are you reading today? I’m currently between reads—I had to get up in the middle of the night to let my dog out & decided to read for 30 minutes so I could finish this book 😆.

After going on a bit of a slog through Radiant Sin, I was so excited to be lifted & tossed around in the high-speed gusts of the sex & intense-feelings tornado that is Midnight Ruin.

In this addition to Katee Robert’s Dark Olympus series, increasingly assertive Eurydice, stoic & protective BFF Charon, & artistic & guilt-ridden Orpheus find unexpected pleasure in each others’ arms as Olympus threatens to come crashing down around them.

On the chemistry side of things, whew!, this book is hot. But the romance arc is a bit wobbly for me in the beginning. If I’m reading a poly book, I want all people involved in the initial relationship to equally want to pursue adding another or others to their relationship—otherwise it makes me a bit sad 😆. In this case, I felt a teeny bit sad for Charon, but by the middle & end (this book moves fast!), he was as invested in the new dynamic as Eurydice is.

Midnight Ruin is a great return to a series that has offered satisfyingly steamy reads. With that being said, I’m not sure if I’ll continue to read it—for me, Robert’s latest Threshold series holds more freshness & bounce to it.

4 ⭐️. Out now!

3 Stars A great addition to the Dark Olympus series! Katee Robert is the queen of mythological spice and the kink in this one was 🔥. The storyline wasn’t as engaging as past novels in this series but it kept the overall story moving towards the impending war that has been building since the start.
