This book was unhinged in the best way possible! Two serial killers trying to one up each other until one of the victims becomes Cole's obsession. She was supposed to be dead, so why is she breathing and why can't he stop this obsession that's growing more and more?

I love this book. Reading this version made me realize why I feel in love with Sophie Lark. She writes these characters as though she is actually in their shoes. Miss girl literally could murder someone and get away with it based on this book alone!
Deeply dark madness that I devoured. A psychological thriller whose main characters are insanely obsessed with Art, Life and Death. Its wild psychotic tale is like an outer body experience that leaves you floating between good and evil.
The writing is intoxicating, it left me wanting more.
I have NEVER read anything like this
but I'm glad that I did!!!
Thank you so much to @Sourcebooks @read_bloom and @netgalley
This was the first book to start my fall off with creepy murder-y vibes and I LOVED IT.
Give me all the crazy psychotic stalker serial killers (only in fiction though please)! I was hooked by page one and I quickly read this book in about four hours, maybe three and a half. Cole is my favorite.
Omg this book! Loved it! I seriously devoured this in one sitting. Thanks for the ARC Netgalley, author and publisher.
This is a dark one so please check the trigger warnings before reading. This book was a wild and addictive read. The fmc Mara is a struggling artist and captures the attention of Cole a rich mogul. Cole begins his stalking and obsession with Mara. The main male character is a rich serial killer who loves killing only men. This book has everything a dark romance entails, it’s spicy with dark kinks and dark characters. Mara later in the book also start to show her dark side which was unhinged but I also couldn’t put it down. The writing in this book is very fast paced If you like darker romances with unhinged villains as the hero then you need to read this. The bloom traditionally published paperbacks are coming out and they have really nice art throughout the book.

Honestly the biggest thought I had this book was “my confusion over my love for Dexter makes so much more sense now” 😂
When Cole’s nemesis serial killer “gifts” him Mara, Cole becomes attached, with wavering murder thoughts and sexual desire. Honestly, there’s no way to explain this book that isn’t cringey, but I was so here for it.
The spice scenes were definitely different than usual, and Mara’s character struggles are rather unique from other ways of taking the “hurt and traumatized girl who’s still attracted to Mr. Dark and Broody” which I really liked.
This was a solid 4/5 for me - a little too dark for that extra point, but was enthralled while reading, and excited to read book 2!
Thank you Sourcebooks Bloom Books for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review!
Serial Killer Romance wasn’t on my bingo card of random genres I’d read this year.
This was surprisingly good, I mean PLEASE read the TWs before picking this up as they are many! You will also need to leave any morals at the front door and just go with it. But once you’ve done that you’re in for a wild ride with a compelling story threading the romance and intrigue together.
I’m curious enough to want to know how the duology ends.
Thank you to NetGalley for sending me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
4.5 stars! There are No Saints is the first book in Sophie Lark’s Sinners duet!
This is a dark romance with serial killers (the hero and his rival), artists, cat and mouse vibes, stalking, San Francisco art scene setting, obsession, and this dance around one another between the hero and the heroine. Cole is a rich, successful artist who becomes a sort of mentor to Mara, a broke and struggling artist. Cole is also a serial killer who is so intrigued by Mara and can’t stay away from her. The way she brings our emotions in him and feelings he’s never felt. He’s a character who has always been very deliberate but this girl is throwing him off his game. Mara is a strong heroine who has a lot going on from her childhood.
The chemistry these two have right from the start is so apparent and I loved seeing it. The story pulled me in immediately and I binged it in a day. I enjoyed how both Cole and Mara are intrigued by one another and can’t stay away. I am one who loves a duet and I think the pacing in this was done super well, I can’t wait to jump into the second book and find out more about this journey. I feel like I won’t fully know how I feel about this story as a whole until I finish that, but so far so good!
Two artists who works with not only paint... but body parts and the girl trapped between their game. Cole is an artist and a serial killer.... Alastor is an artist and a serial killer. Both of these men are stuck in a twisted competition for who is the better artist. However one chance encounter with a starving artist by the name of Mara sets into motions a game none of them would have anticipated. Mara is just trying to make it as an artist, but with an abusive family past, no money, and constantly having to scrap by... things take a turn for the worst when one day she is suddenly kidnapped, attacked, and left to die... except she doesnt. Mara survives because she is a survivor and will fight tooth and nail to live. However what Mara doesn’t know is that the person who did this to her did it all for a game.. but who can she trust? Soon Cole becomes obsessed with Mara and her survival, he becomes obsessed with her will to live, and soon they both end up in a twisted relationship... but there is still the matter of Alastor who has also taken an interest in Mara and Cole.. who wants this competition to end with only one of them left alive. This is the first book in the duology and definitely is not for everyone. It’s a anti-hero romance, except these three are all slightly twisted people, some more than others on the spectrum. Do read the warnings before heading into this book. Overall, an interesting read.
