I literally could not put this book down. A quick, fast past read, Sophie Lark had me entranced the whole time. This is a dark love story between Mara, an aspiring artist, and Cole, a famous artist/serial killer. The way Sophie develops these characters was fantastic, really capturing the obsessive, psychopath in Cole, but also constantly surprising me with the actions and boldness of Mara’s character. I was gasping at the painting scene. I can’t wait to get into There is No Devil.
This was DARK- like the darkest of dark. It was absolutely intriguing but also a bit cringe. It reminds me of Joe Goldberg from "You" pursuing a girl that was fine with it all - stalking, murder, assault. This was something different for me to read, but I'm not willing to read the sequel.
I could not put this down! A steamy serial killers romance! Yes, here for it!! I could not get enough of it. I cannot wait to read the second book!!! I have to know what happens!!!
6 out of 5 stars!

Mara and Cole are two characters that I fell completely in love with. The connection between these two was one that I thoroughly enjoyed. This book was certainly twisted, and definitely chaotic, but I wouldn't change a single second of it. As soon as you start reading, you will definitely be hooked by Sophie Lark's writing, as this is an unputdownable read.
I have no words… but I need more. Immediately yes. Haunting Adeline meets American Psycho. If you like dark romance then I highly recommend.
Definitely check out the trigger warnings before you pick this one up. I don’t have any triggers but this book made me want to cover my eyes at one point and just *insert grimace face*
I’m unsure if I should’ve loved this book as much as I did but this is a serial killer dark romance. I recommend checking out the TW as there are some triggering things mentioned. This book took me a bit to get into, but I was somehow hooked after the second chapter. I was enjoying the storyline and was surprised with the way the story was going. There were some nice, warm moments in this story that balanced with the darkness. The pacing was great and I enjoyed the setting of the storyline.
This book is told from Mara and Cole’s pov. Mara is a broke artist looking for her big break but is being hunted by Alastor. Cole notices Mara and becomes addicted to her. I enjoyed both of their stories and getting into each of their heads. They were different but very similar in the ways they thought. There were some side characters but the MCs took the book. I do wish we got more of Alastor but I believe he will be coming in the next book more. The romance is enemies to lovers, he falls first, and alpha hero with some steamy scenes.
The ending was good but not classified as a cliffhanger though leaves you wanting more to see what will happen next. I will for sure be reading the next book as I want to see how everything will turn out. This was a great story and I recommend checking it out.
*this book was sent to me by the publisher to give an honest review in return*
thank you to netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books, Bloom Books for allowing me to read this book. This was my first Sophie Lark book and this book just made me an instant fan. This book was so good and i cant wait to read more.
Absolutely loved this book, ‘There Are No Saints captured me from the very first chapter, it’s the first in the duo series.
The main characters deal with childhood trauma, anxiety, obsession, and acceptance. This book is very heavy with a few trigger warnings so check those before reading. Sophie Lark is an amazing author and I can’t wait to dive in and read the second book in this duo
Welp, looks like into serial killer romances, it’s like the show “you” but he falls for the girl instead of killing her. Ugh such a good book. Totally recommend it!
OH MY. I can't with this. WHY IS THIS SO HOT? Like all my darkest and most depraved...omg...I can't. This was extrordinary.
Wow I think this one might have been a tad too dark for me a year ago. But lord was this twisted good!!! Loved every page!
Sophie Lark never misses. I absolutely loved this book and the series is going to be great. I can’t wait to read the second book I highly recommend five stars!
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.
Thanks to the publisher and to netgalley for this ARC.
I love sophie lark!!
This was such a pleasing read, the vibes were immaculate!!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing this eARC of There Are No Saints.
First things first: This is a really dark book and it deals with pretty heavy themes (murder, kidnapping, stalking,...)
So please take care while reading it.
But ohhh.... I loved this book. It deals a lot with art and the artistic world. But also murder. I really enjoyed seeing the characters develop through the book.
Where do I even start with this book? This book was somehow addictive and weird at the same time. It was fun to read, but you should 100% check the trigger warnings and be aware of the triggering content!
I really really struggled with this book. I don’t know if I just wasn’t in the right mood or what. Because while I think this book was well written I was bored.
I was so bored. It took me weeks to read this book when it shouldn’t have taken me more than a couple days.
Maybe Sophie wrote Cole as a sociopath too well because I just didn’t buy him as a love interest. And it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he is a serial killer. That doesn’t bother me at all. I love serial
killer romances. Butcher and Blackbird is one of my top reads of the year.
I didn’t really like any of the characters and I couldn’t relate to any of them so I was never really rooting for them.
Now I might be in the minority because I have a few friends who I love and trust who really enjoyed this book. I hope it picks up in the second book. 📚
This man is unHINGED but I was hooked this entire time. Think the confidence and need to be controlling but the craziness of Joe Goldberg from You. I can’t wait what they stir up in the second half of this duet.
Definitely recommend this shorter, but action-packed read.
I love Sophie Lark! I had been dying to read this book and it was so smart! The vibe between the serial killers and the competition just attracted my mind. Also the art aspect was so fun!
such an amazing dark romance! i'm a huge dark romance kind of girl and this gave exactly what i needed it to! i've never read a romance with actual serial killers in it so this was so different but i loved it a lot!!
