This was a fast paced shocking thriller.

Paige and Dylan have know each other their whole lives. Paige is Dylan's sister Audrey's best friend. When Audrey goes messing only a couple weeks after another girl. The 2 spend the next year looking for clues and trying to piece together what happened.

There were multiple twist and shocks that had my jaw on the floor while reading!

I really enjoyed how the story flowed and how everything came together in the end. Chelsea Ichasco writing did a good job of not only giving you hint of what really happened but doing it in a way that wasn't blaring obvious. If I were to go back and reread I know that Ill catch on to multiple clues that I overlooked my first read trough!

I really enjoyed this story!

Audrey is missing. It has been a year and there is not a trace of what happened to her. Yet her best friend Paige knows that Audrey would not have just run away. Yes, she was acting strange last summer but Audrey wasn’t someone who would just totally disappear. When Paige finds something in Audrey’s room that shouldn’t be there, she is able to start down the path of what really happened to her best friend last summer. With the help of her brother, they start to piece together what may have happened to Audrey.
This is a fast-paced book that teens will love. The mystery is quite fun and there are a couple of twists and turns that will keep the reader engaged.
Thank you so much to Sourcebooks Fire and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this book.

3.5 stars Paige and Dylan had a steamy summer romance which abruptly ended when Dylan's sister, Audrey, went missing. Then the summer ended and the next year Paige and her family went back to Dylan's family Summer home again. This time slowly Dylan and Paige decide to team up since it's been a year since Audrey's disappearance and there were no leads they are going to find out what happened to Audrey. However, as they start finding leads everything begins to get intense and they are constantly watching their backs because they are finding things out about people they thought were their friends.

From the minute I started this book, I knew that I would be hooked from start to finish.

I can’t quite put my finger on it but there’s something about this book that reminded me of how I felt when I read A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder for the first time.

This was such a fantastic immersive story that had me hooked from the very first chapters. I did not want to put this down.

I thought I had this entire book figured out but I am so happy that I turned out wrong and I was thrown through multiple loops.

I will definitely be reading more of this author’s works.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire for providing me with this ARC. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The Summer I Went Missing is a good YA thriller! I went into the book not knowing much about it—and that made reading it all the better!

SYNOPSIS: The book starts off similarly to The Summer I Turned Pretty, and quickly takes a thrilling turn. When Audrey Covington is reported missing, her family and best friend, Paige, starts looking for her. A year later, Audrey is still missing—and Paige and Dylan, Audrey's brother, team up to try and find her. What they find is a link to another missing girl, and clues that show Audrey may not be who they thought she was.

The Summer I Went Missing is told from two perspectives, which is quite interesting to read. I enjoyed this quick read—there were plenty of twists and turns that were unexpected and kept me turning the page.

This was so good. It was twisty and mysterious and really held my attention. Weirdly I think the thing I liked most was the setting. The author paints such a vivid picture of Clearwater Ridge, and the small town vibes are so present. I think this was a really solid YA mystery/thriller. It was interesting, the characters were complex, and I think this is exactly what it promises to be.

“The wolf is standing just off the road, something dead and bloody hanging from it’s jowls.” Here are reasons to read the YA Thriller book:

Family Vacation - Paige and her family are meeting her best friend Audrey and her family for a vacation for the summer like they normally do
Missing - but this year, Audrey is acting strangely and then she goes missing
Search - Paige returns back home and then returns the next summer to mourn the loss of her friend
Brother - until she finds a vital clue and teams up with Audrey’s brother to figure out if it can lead them to Audrey

Most of this book piecing together everything that happens with Audrey as well as another missing girl named Madison. There times this book got very intense and times you really did not know who to believe. The ending came together nicely and as usual I love this author’s writing style!

Thank you Netgalley for the copy of this book!

I did enjoy this, gave me some Pretty Little Liars vibes, without the...drama? I'd recommend it to others interested in YA thrillers.

For a Ya novel this one was very interesting.
4 stars in YA category

Both families vacation together and the summer Paige finally has her chance with her best friends (Audrey) brother, her best friend goes missing. She's the second girl to go missing and every one is devasted.

The following summer when they return to their vacation home PAIGE and Audrey's brother Dylan refuse to give up, since police have lost all hope.

The course of events that leads up to Audrey going missing start coming to light and they realize she had a lot of secrets and she pushed a lot of people away.

Secrets, hidden relationships, lies and 2 missing girls.

I really liked this, although I find it hard to believe they waited A whole year before they really started looking for her. The ending is almost unbelievable but I liked the way they wrapped all the issues and unknowns.

Thanks Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

One of my favorite publishers happens to be Sourcebooks Fire as I just love their YA Thrillers that they release, one of those authors whom I have come to love, and whenever she releases a new book I am excited to read it is Chelsea Ichaso as I know I will always enjoy them. The Summer She Went Missing takes readers on a summer vacation that they will never forget as we meet two families the wealthy Covingtons and then their friends the Redmonds. The Covingtons own a beautiful summer cabin and every year, the two families have gotten together. This year starts great for Audrey Covington and Piper Redmond but over the summer, Audrey starts to pull away from Piper until one day she blows up at Piper and demands her own bedroom. Piper is shocked and doesn't know what's happened to her friend but she's changed. Then one day Audrey doesn't come back and she is suddenly missing, as Piper checks in with Audrey's friends and boss - she learns that Audrey has lied and has been keeping secrets. Where has Audrey been all summer and what has happened to her? A year passes and she is still missing and the case is cold. Can Piper along with Audrey's brother Dylan find out what happened to his sister last summer? Find out in Chelsea Ichaso's new YA Thriller "The Summer She Went Missing" - a book that reads like Gone Girl for Teens.

This is the second Chelsea Ichaso book I have read and yet another one that I loved! This is the type of book that will keep you on your toes, is hard to put down, and when you're not reading about it you will surely be thinking about what may happen next! I will admit it took me a few chapters to get into, but once I was hooked it was a great read! This book is mysterious, thrilling, raw, and reel! The last thing I will say is, I did NOT see the end coming!

"From the author of Dead Girls Can't Tell Secrets and They're Watching You, a compelling new thriller!

Last summer, they searched for Audrey Covington.

This summer, they'll search for the truth.

Paige Redmond has always felt lucky to spend her summers in Clearwater Ridge, with lazy days sunning at the waterfalls and nights partying at the sprawling houses of the rich families who vacation there. The Covingtons are one of these families, and beautiful, brilliant Audrey Covington is Paige's best friend. And last year, when Audrey's crush-worthy brother Dylan finally started noticing Paige, she was sure it would be the best summer ever.

Except Audrey didn't seem quite like herself. Then one night, she didn't come home. Though Audrey wasn't the first girl to disappear in Clearwater Ridge, she left behind more lies than clues. Now, one summer later, her case has gone cold, and nobody, least of all Paige, can make sense of what happened.

When Paige stumbles across a secret hidden in Audrey's room, however, it changes everything she thought she knew about last summer. She and Dylan set out on their own investigation, discovering things even the police don't know about the people of Clearwater Ridge. But tracking down missing girls - girls who might be beyond saving by now - means entering a world far darker than Paige has ever imagined. And if she isn't careful, she'll become the next girl to vanish."

I love the Lolitaness of the cover.

This book really kept me guessing until the end. I didn’t see that ending coming. The author weaves a complex story, where every person could be guilty. There are a lot of people involved and at times I started having trouble keeping them all straight. Though each person plays an important role in how the story evolves.

There are chapters in the book titled, The Girl, that really kept me on the edge of my seat. I had so many guesses about who the girl could be. I thought it was a great addition to the book.

There is also a blooming romance between two people that added a bit of fun to the otherwise heavy story.

If you are looking for a compulsive thriller with a touch of summer romance, then I definitely recommend picking this book up!

3 Stars

This was a solid YA thriller and if I was 16 I would have most likely given it 5 stars. There were enough twists and turns to keep the story entertaining, the side love story and struggle of friendship was a welcome inclusion. The main character was a little annoying and I feel like was made to seem older and more mature that she was, but actually came off as a bit of a tattletale. I know it was to make her unique and quirky, but I just didn't enjoy it very much. I do wish there was just a little bit more backstory on the two towns featured other than this is where the rich kids are here is where the poor people live, it was a townies vs rich vibe but not super well developed.

I would categorize this as a relatively quick and light YA thriller read. The plot is not overly engrossed in character development, very little teenage angst, and pretty minor romance scenes. This book would be perfect for a rainy day or beach setting and easily digestible in one or two days.

Paige and her family summer with their wealthy family friends, the Covingtons, in Clearwater Ridge. While here, Paige spends her time at the river or local parties with her best friend Audrey and crushing on Audrey’s older brother Dylan. The setting seems ideal, but the town is really divided between the “vacationers” and the “locals”. One summer a girl goes missing and the town seems to let it go as she was a local that was known for her cons. But when Audrey goes missing the locals seem on edge and the vacationers begin to think something more nefarious is at play.

Paige and Dylan take up the investigation into Audrey’s disappearance a year later during their next summer together. With a little minor sleuthing they begin to untangle a web of lies and deceptions along with a possible link to the two missing girls.

I enjoyed this read, there were a few impractical parts, but overall, a good YA thriller. The twist was well done and added a level of surprise. My one critique would be on the chapters labeled “The Girl”. These felt a bit awkward for a POV and really amounted to nothing notable in the end.

A real easy read that you didn’t have too think too hard about, easy to follow the storyline. A real page turner.

My only criticism is it feels the ending was slightly rushed. But other than that, I really would recommend
