This was cute! I love single Dad and found family tropes. It took me a bit to get into it but once I was a few chapters in it was really good. Henry, Nick's child, was absolutely adorable! One of my favorite things was how supportive Nick and Ivy were of each other. You really could feel the connection between them and their understanding of being left behind before.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Ivy and Nick. Ivy is a college student getting her PHD. Nick is a musician in a band. He is a father to Henry. Henry wants to go on tour with Nick. He needs a tutor. Nick hires Ivy. Ivy is very good with Henry. Nick and Ivy start dating. Nick has issues and breaks up with Ivy. The tour ends. But they find their way back to each other and fall in love.

I couldn't get into the book. The hook was weak, and did not intrigue me from the start..i DNFd after one chapter.

I absolutely loved this book. Romance books with realistic, mature characters are my weakness, and this one was no exception.
The book started out slow, the famous troupe of the babysitter X single dad was there, so it felt a little bit cliche in the beginning.
However, as the book advances, you start to see the details that distinguish the book.
First of all, the characters were so relatable. The anxious, self-conscious single dad who doesn't know whether he is doing right by his son or not, while simultaneously working on his musical career and dreams. The nomad girl who has commitment traumas and doesn't know what her purpose is.
They were too real, and their actions and thoughts were valid and truly rich in meaning.
I also liked how the MMC's kid was written, he wasn't there just to be a link between the characters or a cute, quirky character whose only role is to play matchmaking. No. He was an intelligent kid, who had his traumas and attachment issues, he had tantrums, which isn't usually portrayed in books.
The ending was also great, two adults working on their issues and willing to compromise for their love.
A+ read⭐

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
HEA: yes
spice: a couple open-door spicy scenes
TWs: cheating (not MCs), divorce (not MCs), anxiety
standalone: book 4 in the Storyhill Musicians series but can be read as a standalone with very little confusion
final thoughts: this felt like it was first and foremost about the relationship between the MMC and his son and secondly about the building romance between the MCs which I felt worked out with their backgrounds and for world-building, but I wanted to get to the romance quicker! The characters were all great and I really enjoyed the storyline but I felt like some parts dragged while others were glazed past (the romance scenes)

This story was so sweet and so unexpectedly touching. I really got attached to the characters, especially sweet little henry (and thats coming from someone who dislikes kids). I really related to him in so many ways, and I was so touched to learn the reason he wanted to join his dad on tour (no spoilers here). I never imagined enjoying a book involving kids so much. It's a unique story (those get harder to find every book you read lol) and it will absolutely steal your heart. Absolute recommend.

This is a lighthearted romance that was a joy to read. Even though I figured out most of the plot twists before they happened, I found myself entranced by this book. If you are interested in a feel-good romance, chosen family, or single dad tropes this is a great book to read. It also turns out that this is the 6th book in a series that I haven’t read, but I’m currently in the process of getting the rest of the series. Don’t worry if you haven’t read the others because this book can also stand on its own without having read the others.

This book was a cute romance between a Single Dad who is a musician and a tutor that he had join his travelling crew. Nick is a strong, successful man who wants to make a little boy happy and if that means bring him along on tour then that is what he will do. Ivy was brought on to be a tutor but sparks were flying between her and Nick. Thi

This was a very cute single dad/tutor nanny, Ivy, who follows Nick and his son, Henry on Nick’s tour through the east cost.

I loved the moments between Henry and Ivy. They were so sweet and I couldn’t help loving little Henry. He was absolutely sweet and precious.

The feels between Ivy and Nick were electric and the angst was *chef’s kiss* I love me some angsty moments.

Overall this was a good read and I enjoyed it.

Nick needs a rush- job nanny so his son can go with him on your. Ivy is just what he ordered.

The story is cute, but I never got that “He’s the guy in the band” vibe. He might as well have been a CEO ir traveling salesman. Ivy is working on her dissertation. As someone who has done the same, I would have passed out cold if my advisor had said, “You know what, your work has always been good, let’s just go with what you sent, sight unseen.” Not. happening. These are just two examples of the implausible events in the story. With that said, I can live with it. These implausibilities did not ruin the book for me even as I did roll my eyes a few times.

I'm so in love with this book and it's characters... We have real, flawed characters with real life dilemmas and feelings - it's just perfect! Henry is just the sweetest boy, Ivy and Nick are so good together and the hole band and wife club are just the cherry on top.

I didn't know this series, but now will definitely check the previous books out. Became a fan!

Highly recommend!

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Pieces and Parts is a story about a single dad touring with his singing group and he unexpectedly brings along his 8 year old son. He hires a teacher/nanny to help out while on the road. I found the book to be a charming romance of falling in love and finding a family.

Pieces and Parts tugged at my heartstrings in the best way. A single dad, trying to make it in the entertainment industry. Such a sweet story. I appreciated the slow build romance, as well as the development of the characters themselves.

I really enjoyed Pieces and Parts for several reasons

❤️Music as a back drop. I am not at all musically inclined but am utterly fascinated by it

❤️Roadtripping

❤️A loving attentive single dad

❤️An adorable child

I really think a kid adds a special element to romance that really elevates the story!

Thus book is so cute! Its a story of finding yourself and your family in strange places, and letting go of the past.

I love the confined spaces, single dad, slow burn, aspects to this romance with just a touch of spice in it!
