Always a pleasure to read the latest from Bohjalian…..never the same novel twice, and always filled with excitement and suspense. The pages fly and the characters pop with his expert research and attention to details.

4.5 stars
I dont think Chris Bobjalian can write a bad book. This one might be my favorite, I have a soft spot for Vegas, murder and impersonators. This was such a unique premise and written so well. I finished over the course of a weekend (faster if real life didn’t get in my way).

I’ve loved Chris’s books since “the Flight Attendant” and think “the Princess of Las Vegas” is another smash hit in the making! Gorgeous storytelling with twists and turns - this is a must read.

Chris Bohjalian once again does not disappoint! Not only is he a wonderful author, he is a wonderful human being who has stopped in numerous times at my store. This book started out strong and I finished it in less than two days— I couldn’t put it down. I loved the way it was written and the story was intriguing with likeable characters who made you want to keep reading.

The Princess of Las Vegas was a great book! The two elements that surprised me the most were: 1. as we learn more about the Diana show how interesting it was! I am curious if Crissy only spoke in headlines or quotes, r if she made up words. The story alludes to her dialogue being just quotes... 2. the Crypto world being overrun not by finance bros but the Mafia of a sort. It was very interesting!
A second continuity question was: I thought the bellboy dropped off the pamphlet for the hotel but it turned out to be a female associate? Did we ever receive clarity on Britt?
The book was wildly clever and I would recommend it! Frankly, it made me want to see this fictional Diana show!!!
I would rate it 4.5/5 because of the continuity questions above.

Be careful what you wish for! This is quite the story of sisters, who look alike. Each has her own problems; but still need each other. Then bring in the men who use and abuse them! Was an interesting read with all of the WHAT Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas!

I loved the unique premise of the book and how fast paced it was. It has layers upon layers of intrigue, and it made me eager to keep reading. 5 stars!

I have struggled with every Chris Bohjalian novel I've tried since The Doyble Bind - but I loved that book so much that I keep trying every so often just to see if I might once again click with him in the way I did with that novel. Alas, I have not found that to happen to date - and this latest installment is no exception.
I was captivated by the concept of a Diana impersonator as a main character as well as a Las Vegas focus, unfortunately I found myself in the same predicament I have so often with his books in the last decade. I just don't connect to the characters or the pacing anymore, despite the always-intriguing blurbs and plot lines he offers.
He is just not a good fit for me anymore, so maybe I just need to go back and focus on his back catalog!

This book has an intriguing plot, lots of Princess Diana history, and visuals of Las Vegas on almost every page. I enjoy all that and was constantly trying to figure out everyone’s motives, so it was an interesting read. A few small things were a little off for me, and a few backstories weren’t needed, but nothing big enough to distract from the rest of the book.

The premise is really cool and the cover is beautiful. When I started reading the book, I felt like I slammed into a wall of exposition. Stopped after chapter 1 (7%), but actually considered stopping within three pages. Very much not for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Doubleday for the ARC.

Fast-paced thriller about a (made up) casino in Las Vegas called the Buckingham Palace (or BP for short). Two sisters from Vermont who both look alike and also like Lady Di before her death. The older sister has become a Princess Diana impersonator at the BP. The other sister moves to Vegas from Vermont to be with her new lover, an ex-investment banker who is now working for a crypto-currency firm called Futurium. The book is about casinos, residencies, crypto-currencies, Russian gangsters (called the Mustaba), the FBI, police corruption and politics. All this weaved into a suspenseful plot. An enjoyable read.

I can always count on Chris Bohjalian to deliver an engrossing, suspenseful, and unusual novel. As an aside, I always enjoy his vocabulary! A woman who has built a Vegas career impersonating the late Princess Diana finds herself caught in a web of deceit as bitcoin robber barons descend on her casino. Her sister, niece, and lover are, too…or are they part of the scheme?

I know that this book doesn't come out until March of next year, but I immediately started reading it once I received my approval from the publisher. I have read many of Bohjalian's novels, but I think that this one just may be my favorite one yet. I was immediately drawn to the cover/synopsis because the main character, Crissy, is a Princess Diana impersonator in Las Vegas. She works at Buckingham Palace (not the real one, a casino). She has a strained relationship with her sister, Betsy, who still lives in their hometown in Vermont. But pretty soon, Betsy moves to Las Vegas, and brings her newly adopted teenage daughter, Marisa, and somewhat sketchy boyfriend, Frankie with her. Frankie is involved in the world of bitcoin and crypto-currency, and although Betsy is drawn to the world of not worrying about money and living paycheck to paycheck, pretty soon, things start happening. People in Betsy and Crissy's orbit are winding up dead, police detectives are visiting them on the regular, and they're getting forced to do things they don't want to do all in the name of survival. Betsy and Crissy haven't always gotten along, but they will have to put aside their differences to beat Frankie and his cronies at their own game. This was a unique thriller, unlike any that I have ever read. Like I mentioned earlier, I liked that the main character was a Princess Diana impersonator. There were facts about the former Princess of Wales sprinkled throughout the book, and Crissy and Diana had a lot of similarities. We also got a behind the scenes look at the world of Las Vegas, casinos, and having a residency there, which I thought was interesting. I will admit, I still don't think I have any idea what crypto-currency is, but with more and more people investing in it and it becoming a bigger part of our society, I thought it was interesting to see how it worked and also a behind the scenes look at the people who are involved in it. The strained relationship between Betsy and Crissy added yet another fascinating layer to this multi-dimensional story. I really enjoyed this one, and I found myself wanting to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next. I am definitely going to recommend this one on my bookstagram page, and I look forward to seeing what others think of it when they get a chance to read it. Chris Bohjalian is a favorite author of mine, so I was pleased to receive this advance copy. The interesting thing about the author is that he doesn't settle into formulas. When you pick up one of his books, you never know what to expect...other than a great read. In this book Crissy lives the high life in Las Vegas, and she performs as Princess Diana nightly. She makes some bad decisions, including dating a married senator. It's then that her estranged sister shows up in town with her boyfriend and teenage daughter. It's then that murders start, and Chrissy finds her world crashing down. Is her sister setting her up, the mob? It's a wild ride, and as usual Chris didn't disappoint. I highly recommend this title.

This is a compelling and fascinating book by one of my favorite authors. The Princess is Crissie who has based her career on a tribute show to Princess Diana. Her story, set in Las Vegas, in a second (third?) rate casino is an arresting story of a performer’s life until…
Somehow, her stability and reasonable success is upended when her sister Betsy moves to Vegas with her newly adopted daughter. At that moment, Crissie is thrown into a maelstrom of cryptocurrency, mobsters and MAGAs. I couldn’t put it down and relished every moment of Crissie’s story. Bohjalian has also injected tge super smart and interesting Marisa, the tween that her sister has adopted.
Readers will love this book, it’s a fantastic read. I highly recommend it.
Thank you Netgalley for this exciting read. I loved it!

I’m so disappointed with this book. I love the author’s other books so much, but this one was not up to snuff. It felt phoned in and that’s unlike Mr. Bohjalian’s other work.
There was an interesting story of off-the-strip Las Vegas, with a Princess Diana act and estranged sisters and murder and gangsters. But with bad guy names like Tony Lombardo and Rory O’Hara, it was like playing the old Super Punch Out video game (Vodka Drunkenski, anyone?).
The characters were either naive or stupid except for the newly adopted teen daughter, who is a computer genius and knows how to transfer funds into hacked accounts. Honestly, there is a lot going on in this book and it is a mess.
My thanks to Doubleday Books and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Princess of Las Vegas is a book I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend.
Cassie is a Princess Diana look alike who performs the role of princess twice weekly at the "Buckingham Palace," a seedy casino on it's way down. The life works for Cassie - she has adoring fans and a great tan. Until her sister comes back to town with her odd little family she has collected on her way. It is tolerable until her sister starts to copy her look.
Enter a Russian oligarch, a corrupt senator and the Vegas mob. Murder and subsequent shenanigans threaten the sisters and the ensuing story is part mystery part thriller.
I enjoyed the characters and the plot. The story wouldn't have been the same if it was set anywhere other than Vegas.
A fabulous read. Don't miss it

Chris Bohjalian writes quite the thriller set in the city of Las Vegas. The Princess of Las Vegas is quite famous in her own right and has a residency in a casino by the name of Buckingham Palace (BP). BP is rather run down and a group of mobbed-up people messing around in cryptocurrency want to purchase the casino. Too bad it wasn't initially for sale! The Princess of Las Vegas, Chrissy, has taken on the role of Lady Di, hiding her true self by becoming Princess Diana. Chrissy has many secrets and is content to be hidden in Las Vegas popping pills and drinking. When her sister moves to Las Vegas bringing a cryptocurrency boyfriend with her, Chrissy's secrets come out. All of this wraps up into being a very good thriller complete with murder and mayhem as the mob and politicians get involved.

I love this author's books, but this one wasn't my favorite of his. I had a hard time connecting with any of the characters & wasn't really interested in the storyline either.

This one is going to do well in my opinion! I loved the Diana - Princess - England plot mixed with sisters and murder and Las Vegas! Win - win! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Chris is a super talented writer. This book is no exception. Be prepared to get lost in this novel. Five stars.
