A really lovely story which you could buy into from start to finish. The characters were well written and left you able to understand their emotions.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC! This was such a great holiday story! I loved all the characters and it truly put me the holiday mood. Can Christmas hurry up now?!
What a wonderful read! Highly recommend!
This story had a Groundhog Day movie vibe to it, but I felt it took on more of a fresher and unique approach than all of the other time-loop style books out there! It was delightful and I felt like I was re-living the same day (December 4th to be exact!) alongside the main character. I was rooting for her the whole time, and I really enjoyed watching her develop as a person.
I recommend this book if you enjoy:
- time-loop romances
- women’s fiction
- repetitive Groundhog Day movie vibes
- small town vibes
- Christmas magic (magic snow globes!)
- positive character progression
- lessons about love, kindness, and giving
- main characters discovering and finding themselves
- heartfelt stories
- uplifting human transformations with many obstacles
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
We get to know about the fmc, Diana, a physical therapist, and her fiance, Linus, a toy store owner. They've been engaged for a while but haven't set a date yet. While Linus comes from a big, loving family, that hasn't been the case for Diana, and so she has some fears and insecurities that are so relatable and realistic.
Diana sees her patients at their houses. We get to know about her best friend, who's a counsellor. As the book progresses, we get more insights into her relationships with all of them. I loved the way all of this is written. It makes you feel more connected with the character.
The magical element, the reliving the same day over and over again, was definitely worth reading. It didn't feel boring or repetitive even though it's the same day.
This was my first book by the author, and I absolutely loved it. The writing was impeccable, and I loved how well the descriptions were written. It captured the perfect December vibe and the Christmas magic.
Definitely recommend reading this, especially to those who like reading about time loops, women's fiction, and romance.
Groundhogs Day at Christmas is the best way to describe this book by Annie Rains. Diana, a physical therapist, is in an untenable situation with her fiance in a coma after being critically injured. She finds his Christmas gift to her, a snow globe, and a neighbor enchants in, making it so that she can go back to the day of the accident. She re-lives that day over and over, learning new things about herself and those in her life. She realizes that there are many connections that she didn't previously know about and she sets about making the lives of those around her better, while hoping that her fiance wakes up. She doesn't think that she's ever going to be able to end the cycle, but she learns a lot about herself during this journey. All in all it's a sweet love story with a happy ending and you don't have to wait until Christmas to read it!
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for allowing me to review this book.
After an accident in early december Diana's fiance Linus is in a coma and now it's almost Christmas. With the help of an enchanted snowglobe Diana wants to change the past and ends up reliving the worst day of her life...
I enjoyed reading this story even if I'm not usually into books with magic or time-travel. In this case though I really liked how Diana tried to trick fate and improved her life while trying. And since Christmas is the time for miracles this is a perfect book for the holidays.
Well it certainly is something different to read a Christmas story in the middle of summer.
Lucky for me, it story is set around Christmas, but hasn’t got a Christmas theme to it. I think I would have been quite disappointed if I had read it as a “Christmas” read, but now it was perfect.
Apart from that I am a huge fan of “Groundhog Day” kind of books. So this worked like a charm for me.
Our main character Dianna is engaged to be married. One day… and that day is yet to be determined. Diana is putting picking a date of and pushing the wedding further into the future. She is too busy getting a promotion and being scared of becoming part of a family. But then Diana’s world is turned upside down. Her fiancé is involved in a devastating accident, leaving him in a coma. But what if Diana gets a chance at saving Linus?
Through the snow globe is a warm and cozy story, about an ice queen who’s heart softly melts. I loved seeing Diana try to change every 4the of December, I also loved to see her get tired of trying. I know that sound quite weird, but I think you have had to read to book to understand what I am saying.
Very good book! Would recommend! Thank you netgalley and the publisher for giving me chance to read this wonderful story.
I really enjoyed this story of Diana and Linus. after Linus is in a bicycle accident , is hurt and has surgery he goes into a coma. Diana wishes to relive that day and wishes on a snow globe. She relives that day it seems until it is Christmas . So many things happen to Diana as she relives that day that she can't even remember what she is doing. Finally she wants to take back the wish she has to find the snowglobe and shake it upside down to reverse it. A GOOD READ. Read to see what happens as I don't want to spoil it for you.
As usual in my reviews, I will not rehash the plot.
I was intrigued by the premise of this book, as I love "time shift" novels. This one involves a time loop - think "Groundhog Day" with a Christmassy twist, though there is a lot more to it than that.
Enjoyable light read - even in the summertime (or what passes for summer here anyway!), with some heartwarming scenes.
I liked the way that different characters turned out to be connected - and the way that our heroine gets a chance to see herself as others see her, and tries to make changes - proving that hindsight does indeed give you 20:20 vision!
My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC. All opinions my own.
This was a sweet and touching romance that makes you truly appreciate your loved ones. If you love second-chance romance, this will be a slightly different but charming take on the trope. It made me tear up and smile at the same time.
I love Christmas books & I absolutely adored this lovely story.
Highly recommended!
Thanks for the opportunity to read & review it.
I love Christmas movie and books. I give them a special allowance in my head to be a bit predictable, a bit over the top, definitely unrealistic, and contain special Christmas magic that doesn’t exist elsewhere because it’s Christmas and someone needed to learn the magic that comes with that. Through the Snow Globe ticked all my boxes for a Christmas book. It has a magic snow globe…that alone hooked me. In a Groundhog Day style story, Diana, is given a chance to do one day over to try and save her fiancé. Does she need to learn some Christmas style lessons about love, kindness and giving? Absolutely! My only regret is I didn’t read this on a December evening in front of my tree, but I will take care of that in December. If you are after cozy Christmas, this book will nicely fit that bill. Releasing August 24, 2023 I definitely recommend it for your Christmas shopping or reading list. Thank you to @netgalley and @canelo_co for letting me get into Christmas a little early by reading this book in exchange for a review. Fantastic read! Imagine Groundhog Day with only you knowing everyday is the same or is It only you?
Diannah is trying to save her fiancée or is she is there something else she has to do to end this perpetual day.
Funny and heartwarming book greatly written.
Highly recommend reading this book you won’t be disappointed
what a great book! and such an original idea for a story line, i loved getting to know the characters over and over again!
very well written was a fun read and an author i will look out for again in the future
A lovely Christmas story with a lesson learned. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book
Through The Snow Globe by Annie Rains
An enchanting story!
Physical Therapist Diana Merrimen is an "Elsa" as compared by her teen patient. She's closed off and thinks expressing her feelings is waste of time. She's rather press it deep inside her than speak about it with her loved ones- her fiance Linus or her best friend Rochelle. However, this won't be for long, since her life is about to change for good in a day. Or in many "a day".
I absolutely enjoyed the novel. I love the time loop trope, and I can say this is one of the best ones. The characters resonated with the real life struggles most of us face. It's truly heart touching and magical.
The author's writing style was effortless and smooth. I never once stopped to look deeply into the writing structure 'cause I was so involved in the story. And it had a perfect ending!
I'd love to read more of Annie Rains books in the future!
I always seem to love time loop stories, and this one had a Christmassy twist that made it more fun!
In this book, Diana, a physical therapist, ends up in a time loop after her fiancé Linus gets in an accident a few weeks before Christmas that puts him in a coma. Using a snow globe with an enchantment, Diana ends up reliving the day of Linus’s accident over and over to see if she can save him.
This was a sweet, unexpectedly poignant story. I really enjoyed seeing Diana grow and change during the time loop. I loved her patients, Maria and Addy, and I also loved seeing Dustin. I found the story to be slightly slow in the beginning, but it did pick up and I ended up really enjoying it.
Not as Christmassy as some of the other Christmas books out there, but definitely an enjoyable read.
A bit weird to read a Christmas story while I am sweating in my top floor apartment with 30 degrees and the AC full blast BUT this story managed to get me into the Holiday spirit already! And that means a lot!
At first I didn't connect with Diana at all but with all the repetitions of the same awful day you really get to know and like her as well as the other characters.
I must say at first I didn't like the ending because it felt a little bit rushed BUT after some thinking I really enjoyed it... Because we got to know what happened with Diana together.
Thank you so much! This was a great read and I love Snow Globes even more :D
Through the Snow Globe by Annie Rains. I absolutely love Christmas stories. This story is not only enchanting and magical. The love of the Christmas shines through bringing some surprising events. Not sure I would want to live through that horrible day.
What a cute Christmas themed book with lots of heart and self-discovery for the main character. I enjoyed watching her come to life as she repeats a specific day in her life on repeat! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. It was nice to have a Christmas book in July! Four stars.
