We are always looking for clever ways to entertain our kids during the summer break so I was extremely excited to come across this book! Full of creative, fun and easy to follow art projects (that didn't require a plethora of obscure materials) this book was a hit for the whole family. We loved learning some new techniques, reading up on the featured authors and being inspired by the bright and colourful photographs. Some of our favourite projects were the String Painting, Torn-Paper Landscapes and the Tissue Paper Self-Portraits.

Thank you so much NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for our copy. We absolutely loved it!

This is such a fantastic arts and crafts book for children! The projects are easy to follow, have helpful photographs, clear step by step instructions, and don’t require any specialist equipment - they all use the bits and bobs we have readily available at home! I love the tips on how to take each project further if you want to, and that you can expand on the ideas given, and use them as inspiration.

Would definitely recommend.

Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group – Quarry, New Shoe Press and Netgalley for an eARC of this book to read and review.

This book is a must have for parents, grandparents, teachers, homeschoolers and pretty much anyone interested in interesting new art activities, even those without kids! I can't wait to try adding salt to watercolours or doodle drawing, who could've known it was even a thing?

Other aspects of the book that are highly appreciated:
- 'Setting up a studio' is a lifesaver, it's so much easier to plan the set up in advance that for each activity individually
- Photos in the action part of each activity are not the largest but still are clear enough to explain what exactly needs to be done
- I loved the little additional paragraphs about artists working in the same style as each activity, plenty to take inspiration from if any activity is taken further!

I'm going to recommend this book to every art enthusiast I know, and will definitely buy a paper copy for my family as soon as it's available.

There are SOOOO many ideas in this book! I love the pictures, clear directions, the Meet the Artist boxes, and ideas of how to take it further. The book is organized by different methods of art. I think this book would be a valuable resource for teachers.

When I saw this I wanted this because I teach Sunday School and Bible School at our and I was hoping for some ideas for art activities. Each chapter features a different set of art projects. The first chapter focuses on drawings. There are six lab (lessons) on different types of drawings. From contour, scribble, crayon, and oil pastel. The second chapter focuses on ways of painting. The third focuses on something called printmaking which is one chapter I found really interesting and hope to try these sometime. The serigraphs/silk screen especially looks like fun. String printing is also something I think kids will enjoy. Chapter five is titled Paper it starts with foamy stamps and second lab was an awesome large-scale paper fish. The last chapter focuses on mixed media a few examples are paper family quilts and photos in my paintings. I loved the interesting art ideas and this could be used for anyone who works with children whether you run a daycare, teach school, or at church. This book has a lot of interesting art ideas and can be used in a variety of ways. I can’t wait to try some of these out.

Great starter art book for slightly older kids who are showing a passion for art and creativity. There were some solid ideas in there but the imaging and pacing and layout on the page make it a little less excited or appealing. Overall it’s solid and the teaching is good.

This book has so many creative art projects to create. So many types of media are covered. This is definitely geared to the older child and I’ll look forward to doing many of these when the time is right. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Love, love, love this book. It make time for learning, it opens up areas that may be missed in the creative field and there is something for everyone.
The book starts with finding a space to be creative, and then it opens up areas such as Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Paper and Mixed Media. And within those groups there are some very exciting techniques, which to name a few are soft paste, scribble, charcoal/acrylics, watercolor/salt, printing with found objects, string printing, silk screens, foam shape printing, painting and paper inclusion, and so much more. Great book for the holidays, school room or just for fun for both children and adults. Thanks you NetGalley and the publishers for the DRC

My favorite thing about this book is that which each project there is a "think first" section where the author gives some background information and some things to think about before you begin the projects. There are step by step directions for each project, but they are still very open to individual interpretation. There is also an introduction to an artist that uses the technique in each lab. There are a huge variety of materials and techniques covered in this book. All around a great resource and you can use it with a variety of ages of children as the labs are very versatile

Thank you to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this advance copy to review..

I work as the children's library assistant in a public library. Part of my duties (and my favorite one), is leading Pre-K Story Time. I'm always looking for fresh ideas to keep the little ones engaged. I'm also a mom to a 9 year old that loves art. I found a good bit of fun projects in Super Fun Art Activities for Kids that any age group could enjoy.

There's so much information jam-packed into this book! This book includes Labs for art projects using drawing, painting, printmaking, paper and mixed media. Bright pictures accompany the text which is a blessing for those (like myself) that need a visual how-to.

I loved how she incorporated works from other artists. Some of these were instructors local to New Hampshire. It's nice to see local artists featured alongside ones that became well-known. I even found some artists I've never heard of to start following!

Thank you NetGalley and New Shoe Press for providing an advanced reader copy of the book for an honest review. Any quote(s) used in my review have been uncorrected.

This book is full of fun crafts and art activities for kids! I would definitely say it’s heard more toward older kids than younger though! I teach art at a homeschool co-op and am considering purchasing this book to have on hand to help me plan my lesson plans!

Highly recommend to families looking for a creative outlet for their kiddos! This will give you SO MANY ideas to do with your kids!

This was a good collection of activities to do with kids. As a youth librarian, I'm always looking for new projects to do with younger patrons and this serves as a good reference. I especially want to try the plastic wrap water painting project.
