I really enjoyed this book! If you’re a fan of the show Dexter, as I am, I can see you also enjoying this. I loved the FMC. Can’t wait for book 2.
This has a really interesting premise and has 2 perspectives: The VERY interesting musical genius killer, and the good-guy hero FBI agent. I'd say it's 70% FBI agent perspective, 30% musical genius, and I wish it had been the reverse.
I feel like we knew early what could've been major fodder for a fun twist. The actual twist, as a result, was a little anticlimactic and felt rushed, like the whole ending was truncated due to a paper shortage or something. I also felt the end was so hyper-dramaticized it started to make fun of itself which made me fall out of the story a bit.
Definitely a great premise and an enjoyable read, but not quite the edge-of-your seat killer thriller I hoped for!
I've seen a lot of reviews compare this to the Mindf*ck series just without the romance and I totally agree. Although I was kind of invested in the sort of romance of Leah and Emanuel even though it wasn't the plot 😅 I’m such a romance reader, I will take any scraps of romance I can get!

The premise :
Leah is one of the top pianist in the world and a serial killer. But of other killers. Normally very methodical and tidy, one of her most recent kills catches the attention of the FBI.
Liam is a by the book FBI agent and a slighlty broken dad going through a divorce. Depsite his superiors telling him to stop pursuing Leah as a suspect, he just can't drop it!

Its definitely twisty and an addictive read!
What I loved:
- the twist and connections. It’s a really well thought out crime read! Some of the reveals I never saw coming!
- Well developed characters. For 300 pages or so, I feel not only were the main characters really fleshed out, but so were the side characters! I can definitely see why this is getting picked up for TV as it’s a fun cast that has been created!
- Emanuel! I don’t think I was meant to become so enamoured with him, but here we are! He's so adorable, and I really wanted him to get his ‘Pretty Women’ moment!
- The ending. It definitely ends in a way that sucks you back in and I can't wait to see what happens next! Although the last page made me super sad!
All in all, a solid crime read! The only thing that bugged me was Larsen and the background there with the funeral etc. that had me questioning Leah’s judgement. But I guess it all worked out!
Will definitely be reading the next!
Talk about a book being everything I love! I loved this book. The serial killer(s), the graphic detail of the unique crime scenes, the twists that I did NOT see coming, and the extremely strong, feminist lead in Leah were a recipe for an amazing story. I also love the title and cover of this book. There is nothing I didn't love to be honest with you! S. T. Ashman hit it out of the park with I Kill Killers!
This is so unlike anything I’ve ever read before and in the best way. There’s something about a female psychopath protagonist that really draws me in. Are we going to read into about what that might say about me…? Absolutely not. I do feel like the sex scenes were unnecessary. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for a good raunchy scene every now and then, but I felt like they were just kinda thrown in. But let me tell you - that ending is what really sold this book. Not just one but two major twists that I did not see coming that left me completely shocked. I just discovered this is the first book in a series and I’ll definitely be picking up the next.
To say I liked this book would be an understatement. I absolutely LOVED this book, and I devoured every second of it. Action meets thriller and I hard a hard time putting it down! Especially towards the end... And the ending? I'm definitely looking forward to reading the second installment of this series. Overall, I would highly recommend!
I really enjoyed this. It was one of those books I just couldn’t wait to get back to. While I did find it to be decently predictable- the only real surprise being the epilogue -it was intriguing enough to keep me coming back.
I will say there were plenty of parts that were just annoying, but overall this was a fast paced read that I’d recommend to anyone looking for a serial killer story!
The way my jaw hit the floor 😱 that ending!! I’m speechless. This was so twist and turny. I LOVED it! I like the altering povs and how you get into their minds. Highly recommend!
i kill killers by s. t. ashman is a fast-paced thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from beginning to end. the novel follows the story of a vigilante who takes justice into their own hands by targeting serial killers, creating a compelling narrative filled with suspense.
however, while the premise of the novel is intriguing, the execution falls short in some areas. the pacing at times feels rushed, with certain plot points glossed over or resolved too quickly, leaving readers wanting more depth and exploration.
A heart-stopping journey into the depths of obsession and betrayal. This domestic thriller will leave you breathless
This book was intense and a great view into the mind of a female serial killer/vigilante. You will root for the main character as she takes down awful people and feel a bit guilty about it as she is committing horrible crimes. A must read for a different take on serial killers from the killer's point of view. It's not often you read something with a female perpetrator.
i love horror and thrillers and this book right here is a MUST READ!!! it’s a book that will leave your mind think is a serial killer killing another serial killer bad. Do they deserve to be locked away and treated the same as other serial killers but they are doing it for the greater good? this crime fiction book is just great from the cover to the end of the book
In this novel, we follow Leah, a serial killer who only targets serial killers, and Liam, the FBI agent who seems to be the only one who thinks that she must be connected to a murder case that he is on.
One subgenre I will always read is a thriller about a female serial killer who targets bad men. I don't know why, but I thought this was going to be a romance haha. But I'm honestly glad it wasn't! I had a pretty good time reading it. It did seem more Liam's story than Leah's. It felt like we got more of his POV than hers and I think his POVs were more interesting to be honest. I liked the resolve at the end. I definitely hope there's going to be a sequel because I was not expecting this to end on a cliff hanger and now I need to know what's going to happen next! 3/5 stars.
Knowing who the serial killer is in the beginning and watching the climax unfold around her, be nervous for her and everything... the amazing writing keeps you on the edge of your seat even though you know that everything happening around her was just that, happening around her and not to her.
The ending was really puzzling for me, which isn't terrible. I mean, I really like what happens in the ending, it just kind of confused me as to if she put out the hit or if she didn't and it was someone else?? Because if she killed him or had him killed, then she has become a killer herself instead of just a killer of killers
Perfect read for true crime buffs, ID channel watchers and arm chair detectives . You will not be disappointed. Check this out right away .
I am ADDICTED to the whole "serial killer thriller" vibe and I especially love them when they are mixed in with a little sex and violence to make things a WHOLE lot more complicated. This had so many of the things people watch "True Crime" stories for....in SPADES. BUT EVEN BETTER BECAUSE...OH, THE TWISTS. I saw like NONE of them coming and I KNOW there's a set up for a second book but I just need more. It was THAT good.
What a book! It gave me the feels of Killing Eve mixed with Luther vibes and should definitely be televised!
I don't want to say much about it as it will give the whole idea of the story away but I will 100 % be talking about and recommending this book, I loved everything about it and I'm praying there is going to be more. An easy 5 stars from me.
I loved the concept for this book immediately and it drew me in. Leah is a world renound pianist and also rids the world of bad people in her free time. Leah is autistic and from a young age, has been able to not feel emotions like normal. This trait allows her to take care of what she needs to and is meticulous about making sure she doesn't leave enough evidence to where she is caught.
Liam is an FBI agent that can't let things go. He is currently going through a divorce and custody battle but he is a good cop. When he comes upon one of the most gruesome crime scenes he has ever seen, he has a feeling that things just aren't what they seem. He digs deeper and deeper until he starts to unravel the truth, even if no one believes him.
I had different expectations of this book and I think that it took away from what I was hoping for with the outcome. The twists and turns a the end were absolutely crazy though and it sets us up for another book, which I have to say, I need.
Thanks to Ashman books, the author and Netgalley for an early copy.
Wow just wow. I loved the title of this book due to the challenging topic. How do you feel about a serial killer who kills killers???
Great back story for a series to continue.
I didn't see the ending coming at all, and I am normally good at these things.
I am looking forward to the second installment and highly recommend this
Thank you to netgalley and Ashman Books for an e-arc of I Kill Killers by S. T. Ashman. This book was so damn good. I didnt want this book to end.
