This is a wonderful start to sharing about Jesus with kids. I felt like the book had gaps in the story, perhaps because parts of it were told through illustrations but all in all I enjoyed the story. The illustrations were beautifully done.
With its charming illustrations and inspiring story, this book will warm the hearts of your own family. Definitely recommended from me for other Christian homes. You will love it this Christmas season! It has a beautiful message to share.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley, but was not required to leave a positive review.
Very Touching Story & Gospel Was Shared Well
Felt some elements would be for older kids. Parents should realize what they feel their children’s level is.
I have a daughter that was born Dec 23 and she would not have been ready for this whole book until she was 6 or 7 just due to the Mom getting sick.
The tradition itself and the Gospel message was a shared perfectly.
I received a complimentary ARC of this book from NetGalley on behalf of the Publisher and was under no obligation to post a favorable review.
The Christ of Christmas: An Age-old Story with a New Family Tradition by Marc Sikma is a new favorite Christmas book of mine! Geared towards younger ones, but will be enjoyed by the whole family, The Christ of Christmas: An Age-old Story with a New Family Tradition tells the story Lily and her Family’s special Christmas tradition. Lily was born in December and every year Lily’s Mom would have a Manger and a Cross that she uses to tell her the Story of Jesus. Over the years, as Lily grows, Lily’s Mom shares more about Jesus and what He has done for us, especially when her family adopts her brother, Zeke. When Lily ask Jesus into her heart, what she has learned from her Mother all these Christmases makes sense. When Lily’s Mom goes to the hospital one Christmas, the the Family’s Faith is tested, but made stronger because their Foundation is Built on the Christ of Christmas.
I absolutely love The Christ of Christmas: An Age-old Story with a New Family Tradition by Marc Sikma because it goes back to the root of Christmas: Christ. I love the simplicity, yet profoundness of the tradition because all you really need is the Manger and the Cross That’s what Christmas is all about. I admire the Mom and how she tells the Story every year to her Family no matter what. I love that the story progresses and shows how each Family Member comes to the Faith. The Christ of Christmas: An Age-old Story with a New Family Tradition would be a great book to include in your Christmas Tradition. I believe this book could be adapted into a Christian Lesson for Church or School, especially with the Reader Guide that is in the back. I highly recommend The Christ of Christmas: An Age-old Story with a New Family Tradition by Marc Sikma to help you remember the True Meaning of Christmas and life. I believe it will be a new Christmas favorite of yours too!

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. My review is on Goodreads and my blog, Leslie's Library Escape.
W-O-W... The word that comes to mind is powerful. This book is so powerful. This is such a moving story about faith, family, tradition, and love.
This is an adorable, gospel saturated story. It's a little repetitive, but a great way to get the gospel out to your younger kids. I'd say best for ages 6-8.
A sweet/sad/happy story. Definitely truth-telling. Maybe trying a little too hard to be all-inclusive. Overall good.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance e-copy of this book! All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
No matter what... in health or hurt...nothing changes that Jesus is the Christ of Christmas.
A story of a mother that shared Jesus with her family. Each Christmas she would say the words no matter what and tell the story of Jesus using the cross and a little manager. The hope that Jesus brings.
The story how God can heal a broken body and the broken heart. Making us whole again.
What a beautiful story of the love of God and mother's love. How we respond. It was a tear jerker! A hopeful tear jerker.
A special thank you to B&H and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
