Retells in rhyme how and why Jesus was bold when he was on earth and how that should inspire his followers to be bold in following him today.

I appreciate the heart of this picture book but I felt like the rhyme was a little clunky at times and distracted a bit from the story. It’s ok, and some Christian families may find this very inspirational and encouraging for their young ones.

I received an ARC of this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Boy Who Was Bold carries an important message-following the example of Jesus by living a life according to God’s standards instead of man’s standards. The book is beautifully illustrated as well. The book is marketed for 4-8 year olds, but the vocabulary goes beyond the level of understanding for that age group. Even as a read aloud, there would be a fair amount of explanation required, but this could be a good tool for sparking discussion with your children about what it means to follow Christ’s example, especially when those around you don’t.

Thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

I really love The Boy Who Was Bold by Adam Griffin! The Boy Who Was Bold tells the story of Jesus and how bold He was to do what God called of Him to do and how we can be bold too. I love the Message of The Boy Who Was Bold and the parent helps that are in the back. I think The Boy Who Was Bold can be used in any story time or Christian Education setting. I highly recommend The Boy Who Was Bold! Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.

Thank you, NetGalley and B&H Publishing Group!

I loved this book. The illustrations are beautiful and the words are so poetic. I loved the powerful way that Jesus' earthly ministry was written going all the way back to him being just a boy. I really appreciated how the book is written to tell the gospel but also to focus on the boldness of Jesus' words and actions specifically.

The book delves into the difficult truth that being bold for Jesus will not always make you popular but does so in a way that is truthful yet also inspiring.

Highly recommend!

Theologically grounded and rich text about the boldness of Christ. If I’m being honest, the illustrations weren’t really my style and they take up the bulk of the book so that was a bummer.

Incredible illustrations! Love the focus on the boldness of Jesus and how He has called us to be bold. Eye catching and great book for our kiddos to learn more about who Jesus is and who He has called us to be.

Since we have such a hope, we are very bold. 2 Corinthians 3:12

The Boy who was bold starts with Jesus at 13 years old. A rhyming cadence that will engage young children into the life of Jesus. Speaking on being bold for Christ and what that means. The illustrations are colorful and vivid. A great gift for the young people in your life.

A special thank you to B&H Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

THIS BOOK IS AWESOME! I'm so thankful to have found this book- one I will be reading to my kids for years to come. It challenges them to live boldly for Christ and to be different and holy, no matter the cost! With some recent family problems, I think this will help our kids understand the persecution our family is under. Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book.

A good story, and very nice illustrations but the rhyming often feels forced... Work on the rhyming, and you'll do well!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance e-copy of this book. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
