What a ride!! Steve Cavanagh did not disappoint with his new stand-alone. Told in multiple POVs Kill For Me Kill For You was a fast-paced thriller with so many twists and turns.
Wendy and Amanda meet at a support group both having suffered horrific loss and they both want revenge. They form a simple plan - you kill for me and I'll kill for you but it turns out that it's really not that simple.
So many surprising moments and an ending I didn't see coming.
Thank you to @hachetteaus and @netgalley for the #gifted eARC. Available to purchase now.
Kill For Me, Kill For You - Cavanagh has an amazing ability for his books and while of course disappointed it was an Eddie Flynn, I none the less thoroughly enjoyed it!
Two women with two things in common they both want revenge! A heart pumping adrenaline filled revenge plot.
This book was brilliant. Full of twists and it will keep you on your toes . I honestly couldnt put it down.
The description said it is a 'Breathless new thriller' and oh my gosh it certainly is. This is a story of two women, two men and revenge. This is certainly a book that is a page turner, is thought provoking and is full of suspense, thrills and more twists and turns than you could ever imagine.
This is a book that is not at all predictable and will keep you on the edge of your seat, and you will have it read before you realise it. Naomi and Amanda are great characters and really fit well within the context of this book. The writing is flawless and flows well making it so easy to keep up with.
Love, love, love it.

A very good read with great characters. Kept me in suspense as to what was going to happen next. Would recommend.
This story had twists and turns galore. Just when I thought I'd figured out what was happening, I was blown away and taken down a different path. This book was a whirlwind, right from the beginning and the way that everything was tied together at the end was perfect. A truly fabulous read and highly recommended!
Great thrilling story that kept me turning the pages throughout, thoroughly gripping and would highly recommend to others!! Steven Cavanagh never disappoints.
Thanks to #netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. This is anew stand alone thriller by Steve Cavanagh- whilst I haven't read any of his other books yet I do have quite a few sitting on my TBR shelves waiting for their turn. This was reminiscent of Strangers on a train which I loved years ago. Whilst it wasn't your average serial killer story, it was every bit as compelling as you would hope any thriller to be. Two women who meet in therapy for people trying to deal with the grief of losing loved ones to violence decide they want to take action against their attackers, they come to an agreement to kill the respective men who have, up until now, gotten away with murder. Whilst this book is essentially about vigilantism and satisfying the burning need for revenge, it’s also a kind of cautionary tale about the dangers of carrying out the revenge scenario and also of trusting people you meet just because they seem to have a similar story/life experience to you. This was such a compelling read for me, it was well paced and took turns I did not anticipate, which made them all the better. One of the strengths of the book lies in the way in which the author takes us into the troubled minds of his characters, we can all see a bit of ourselves or people we know in his characters which makes the book even more or an addictive read. If you think you can't be bothered reading another book inspired by Strangers on a train, think again because this book was so much more that just a book paying homage to the original. #killformekillforyou #stevecavanagh #hachetteaustralia #tea_sipping_bookworm #goodreads #netgalley #thestorygraph #getlitsy #thriller #strangersonatrain #bookqueen #bookstagram
Unfortunately I was unable to finish this one as it wasn’t for me.
I will rate this 5 stars for fairness. This will not go on my review site.

Book Review
Kill for Me Kill for You by Steve Cavanagh
The new standalone thriller from Steve Cavanagh – Kill for me Kill for You is a suspenseful read and grips you right from the start.
The story: Amanda and Naomi have both lost loved ones and they both meet at group therapy. Both women have so much in common and they become friends and start making a plan. The Plan: Kill for me and I will Kill for you. As you can expect nothing goes to plan especially when Naomi isn't who she says she is.
Steve Cavanagh is definitely on the top of my list of my auto read authors. Full of so many twists and turns, some you definitely can’t see coming and some that keep you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend reading this one.
Thank you Netgalley and Hachette Australia for a gifted copy of this book for my honest review.
A plot that has been done a few times but the author manages to lift this above the others with clever plotting and some great twists.
Amanda has lost her young daughter to a man whose family money has kept him out of jail and free from conviction for Jess’ murder. Amanda’s husband felt responsible for their daughters death, a moments inattention led to her being taken so he took his own life. Amanda has spent the rest of her life stalking Crone, the man she knows is responsible for Jess’s murder. Finally she has a restraining order taken out on her, which of course she breaches. The detective on the case, Farrow feels sorry for her as he knows Crone is guilty but they can’t prove it. He makes Amanda attend counselling sessions for people with similar tragedies. At the meeting Amanda meets Wendy, a kindred spirit. They meet up for a drink and Wendy offers Amanda’ a proposal, kill for me and I will kill for you.
I can’t really say any more because this is where the first twist comes in and the whole book changes.
Clever, ingenious and definitely page turning!

Steve Cavanagh did not disappoint with this particularly clever and twisty AF thriller.
This was my first stand alone read by Cavanagh and I loved it. I did not predict even half of it. Full of mystery and suspense, and extremely fast paced this had my jaw literally drop at more than one twist.
Kill For Me Kill For You is a multi-POV crime thriller, each different perspective told well and each time a POV came about it was important.
I'm not usually the biggest fan of switching POV as something big happens and having to rush through the next one to find out what comes next for the other character, but it definitely worked here because each POV was gripping and I was invested in each character's story.
The ending, well, it was something else. Moral dilemma and a half.
100% would recommend this one!

EXCERPT: The Kitchen floor was covered with glass. She looked around, then saw that a pane had been smashed in the back door. The small one just above the door handle. The rest of the panes in the grid were intact. Then, in one of those panes, Ruth caught a reflection. A man, tall, dark clothing. Fierce blue eyes, a long narrow nose and square jaw.
He was right behind her.
An arm clamped around her throat and a hand stifled her scream. There was something in that hand. Something soft. It smelled bad. A chemical odour.
Ruth fell to the floor, her knees giving way.
Her vision swam, and then she heard his voice. Deep, crackling in a long, thick throat. Raspy and broken and utterly, utterly terrifying.
Hello there, sweetheart . . .'
And the darkness took her.
ABOUT 'KILL FOR ME, KILL FOR YOU':
SHE WILL KILL YOUR WORST ENEMY. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS KILL HERS.
One dark evening in New York City, two strangers meet by chance. Over drinks, Amanda and Wendy realise they have so much in common.
They both feel alone. They both drink alone.
And they both desperately want revenge against the two men who destroyed their families.
Together, they have the perfect plan.
If you kill for me, I'll kill for you...
MY THOUGHTS: 'Kill For Me, Kill For You' isn't your average crime/detective/serial killer thriller. Actually, I don't think Steve Cavanagh could write an average book if he tried! Think Strangers on a Train on steroids. And the book Strangers on a Train gets frequent mentions throughout.
Every time I thought I knew where Cavanagh was taking me, every time I started to feel complacent or a little smug, he would throw in a twist so that everything I thought I knew became irrelevant.
Cavanagh has penned characters that it is hard not to feel empathy with and built the story around a moral dilemma. Who, having lost a child and/or spouse to violence for which no one is held accountable, is not going to want revenge. The question is: where does it stop?
I suggest going into this read, blind. It is twisty, tormenting, and will tear your moral compass in two.

DISCLOSURE: Thank you to Hachette Australia & New Zealand, Headline vis NetGalley for a digital ARC of Kill For Me, Kill For You by Steve Cavanagh for review. All opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own personal opinions.
Another wild and fast paced read by one of my favourite authors.
One evening, two strangers meet. They both want revenge against two men who destroyed their families. So they agree, they will trade murders. Just like Two Strangers on a Train (also referenced in the book). Except nothing ever goes to plan in these wild scenarios and a thoroughly entertaining story unfolds.
I thought I knew which way this story may be heading but always, expect the unexpected from this author! The twists and turns were fabulous. The writing was exceptional. As always, I cannot wait for more by this author. 4.5*
A new stand alone thriller by Steve Cavanagh is a superbly constructed thriller that managed to lead me blithely down one path thinking I had a solid handle on where I was going, only to find I was completely lost. Kill For Me Kill For You is not your average serial killer story but is every bit as compelling as you would expect from an author who has become highly adept at misdirection and cataclysmic surprises.
Two women who meet in therapy for people trying to deal with the grief of losing loved ones to violence decide they want to take action against their attackers. Using the concepts derived from Patricia Highsmith’s Strangers On A Train as a blueprint they come to an agreement to kill the respective men who have, up until now, gotten away with murder.
The plight of the main characters in the book garners a great deal of sympathy, even though you know that what they’re planning is terribly wrong. Amanda has lost her daughter and husband, Naomi’s daughter is dead at the hands of a sexual predator. Both are dealing with the unrelenting grief and pain as they try to overcome their mental demons.
So then it’s a moral dilemma. Should this extreme situation justify their contrived solution?
This is essentially a story about vigilantism and satisfying the burning need for revenge. It’s also a kind of cautionary tale about the dangers of carrying out the revenge scenario that was long fantasized about. But as the plot unfolds, we discover it’s a story that’s about far more than that.
What makes this such a compelling thriller is the turn the story takes around two-thirds of the way through. Not only does this go from a mere tale of revenge to a far more intense thriller that shifts gears into a cracking pace.
One of the strengths of the book lies in the way in which Cavanagh takes us into the troubled minds of his characters. Their pain, frustration, fear and regret is vividly conveyed to such a weird extent that, for at least one character, they are simultaneously relatable and repulsive. I was taken on a strangely varied wave of emotions as this one unfolded.
Kill For Me Kill For You is the type of thriller that challenges you to keep up with cleverly placed plot twists serving to turn everything you previously understood on its head.
My thanks to the publisher Hachette Australia via NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC copy to give me the opportunity to read, enjoy and review this book.
Only his second-ever standalone novel, Steve Cavanagh’s Kill For Me Kill For You (2023) is a gripping suspenseful thriller. It’s the tale of two women who have had loved ones taken away from them and their all-consuming grief demanding vengeance. Ruth Gelman and Amanda White meet at a group therapy meeting, become fast friends and agree to kill the men who destroyed their lives. As the tale of their circumstances is revealed, there are numerous surprising twists and a tensely building unexpected finale. From its gripping opening scenes to an unfolding intricate mystery, it makes for a highly suspenseful thriller with a four and a half stars read rating. With thanks to Hachette Australia & New Zealand and the author, for an uncorrected advanced review copy for review purposes. As always, the opinions herein are totally my own, freely given and without inducement.

Brilliant, I have read everything this author has written and I automatically purchase all his books without even reading the blurb, once again I was not disappointed. Two women randomly meet at a support group, both are suffering and are experiencing intense emotions regarding those who they see have wronged them, a plan is then set in motion to murder both males, Amanda will murder Wendy's victim and Wendy will murder Amanda's. But is everything as it seems? The book contains two dual story lines that will eventually as cross over and the result is a fantastic read, I read in an afternoon as I could not put it down..
Love the character of Amanda, you really feel how raw her pain is. It is difficult to say too much more with out giving away vital aspects of the plot but what I will say is buy this book, excellent 5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the book, all opinions are my own.
As soon as I was provided the opportunity to review “Kill For Me Kill For You” by Steve Cavanagh, I jumped at the chance. I’ve been making my way through all the Eddie Flynn books, so knew I would be in for a wild ride.
This is a story of revenge with two women who find each other and unite in their grief. The starting point is Strangers on a Train, but that really is just the setup and the twists and turns from there come thick and fast.
Giving away any more would be spoilers, and I really don’t want to do that to you. Pick this book up and I guarantee you won’t put it down. Steve Cavanagh is such a talented writer - I loved Twisted and, of course, the aforementioned Eddie Flynn books - so I knew how captivating and mind bending his stories can be. The characters are multidimensional (in many ways) and you can’t help but empathise with almost everyone, no matter how terrible their actions might be (almost everyone, but not quite everyone)
There is a moral ambiguity at play, and it will cause you to ask yourself some uncomfortable questions about what you might do in a similar situation.
While not perfect (there is a lot left up to chance) it was thrilling and relentless.
Kill For Me Kill For You will stay with you long after you’ve turned the final page. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a well crafted thriller with complex characters by a master of the genre.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC.
